Who are they? Do they really care about each other? About what the other is feeling? Or are they just more horny teenagers than normal? If so, how can Hermione, who was just saved from 6 months of sexual abuse, felt safe enough to give herself to another man in 3 days?!
This author sesms to like spice for spice, but not for purpose. And that’s okay! But don’t try to sell this book for something it is not. It is NOT a Harry Potter fanfiction! It is just random characters that happen to have the same names! They are too OOC to be a fanfic!

It really was a great ending to the story (minus the fact that we don’t see enough of the other death eaters for my taste)

This is a masterpiece. The darkness. The healing. The struggles. The trauma. It hits close to home for many readers. And just by looking at the comments that are left throughout the fanfic, I can see how this story has impacted many lives in a deep meaningful way. Personally, I relate to Theo and it has been such an experience to be able to read about characters that have the same issues that you do.
Some may think that Draco’s pining for Hermione in the beginning of the story is too soon, but that is simply because they have not read the whole story. You cannot understand where the characters are coming from, their background, and what they have gone through to be where they are now if you only read “3 chapters”. The story is written in a way that pieces of information are slowly given to the reader as the chapters go on. And if you read between the lines you may be able to connect certain pieces. It’s honestly genius of the writer. This story is best read as a binge read.
It’s a dark Voldemort Wins AU, but there are amazing storylines interwoven in the story. Dramione is centric, but there is another couple written in the story that many have fallen in love with. I know I have. The emotions portrayed throughout the story are raw and realistic. The characterizations are beautifully written. And the trauma and healing is truly magnificent.

i was so sad when i saw that this story disappeared with only one epilogue to go but i have absolutely loved reading this fic. the writing is outstanding and the story was so well put together. how true/deep it gets in terms of how ugly healing can be is just sooo raw and real. i definitely ugly cried multiple times throughout this fic. i hope the story is able to come back some day with the last epilogue attached.

¿Quizá 1.5?
Mi gran problema con este fic, de más de 3000 páginas, es que las últimas 200-300 me han gustado mucho. Pero, a la vez, me han hecho enfadarme. Porque me han demostrado que la autora es capaz de escribir cosas bonitas y no tóxicas y que, simplemente, ha decidido no hacerlo en las restantes páginas anteriores.
Soy la primera que selecciona "angst" al buscar una historia, porque le gusta sufrir y ver sufrir a los personajes. Pero si eso me va a aportar algo a la trama y/o a la evolución de dicho personaje. Pero, sinceramente, que me hayas puesto a Hermione siendo violada, maltratada física y psicológicamente durante 6 meses, sólo para que luego cambie esa cárcel de Dolohov por la de Theo y Draco...como que no. Porque sí, yo entiendo que lo están haciendo por su bien, porque todo el mundo la está buscando y ellos dos justamente están jugando al doble espía y no pueden simplemente hacerla desaparecer sin que eso tenga consecuencias...para ella y para ellos. Pero, en el fondo, Hermione está cambiando una cárcel por otro. Sí, por otra en la que la tratan mejor, no la violan, no la maltratan y que, de hecho, intentan ayudarla con todos los traumas que le han dejado los 6 meses pasados con Dolohov. Pero, aunque se discute abiertamente (entre Theo y Draco) si lo que están haciendo es la mejor forma de ayudarla o no, no me parece que esté bien traído.
Puedo entender que Hermione quiera recuperar su libertad sexual, el cuerpo del que han abusado incontables veces (y no sólo Dolohov, que aquí nuestra amiga CDLynn hace que se la vayan pasando algunos mortífagos para que "jueguen " con ella...asqueroso). Puedo entender que lo haya querido enfocar no como que los actos sexuales le den miedo, si no que le de miedo el hecho de que no pueda volver a disfrutarlos porque su mente siempre va a cambiar a esos momentos de abuso. De verdad, entiendo el enfoque que ha querido darle.
Pero no me puedes poner que Draco y Hermione ya tengan sexo (aunque no sea con penetración, que aquí a la muchacha parece que no le importe eso) a las 3 semanas de estar Hermione con ellos. O sea, lo siento. No es creíble. No cuando, dos escenas antes, me has puesto que ella tiene una "regresión" por unos truenos porque le llevan a un momento turbio en el que Dolohov abusó de ella.
Además, ya no sólo es la forma en la que se ha llevado la enfermedad mental de Hermione, así como las secuelas de su secuestro...es la forma en la que se forman todas las relaciones interpersonales a raíz de eso. Quiero decir, ¿la relación entre Draco y Hermione puede ser más tóxica? Porque lo siento, me parece perfecto que quieras poner que ya empezaban a sentir algo desde antes de que estallase la Guerra porque Draco se disculpó pensando que iba a morir en 6º curso y a raíz de ahí montaron una especie de "amistad", pero es no convierte en menos tóxico el hecho de que él esté obsesionado con ella y no le guste que Theo le mire el culo en una ocasión (totalmente accidental, por cierto), o que se abrace con Ron (su amigo de toda la vida, además). Pero más allá de esos celos que quiere tapar como "amor", está el hecho de toda la presión que le pone encima. Quiere que siga siendo la "Chica Dorada", a pesar de estar en una maldita guerra en la que todos tienen que mancharse las manos. Pero no, él quiere que ella permanezca intacta porque para él, Hermione es la Esperanza que necesitan para ganar la guerra. Y no le importa si él vive o muere, si tiene que mancharse las manos de sangre, con tal de salvarla a ella y que no sufra más de lo que ya lo ha hecho.
Soy la primera que vive por el "el héroe sacrificaría a su amor por el bien común, el villano lo sacrificaría todo por esa persona". De verdad, dadme un libro con esa temática y me vuelvo loca. Pero creo que aquí no está bien llevado. Para nada. Es que podría dar un montón de ejemplos que utiliza para hacer ver que Draco está híper enamorado de Hermione, pero que sólo hacen que volverlo todo muy turbio.
Por no hablar del hecho de que a Draco le parece genial que Hermione no tenga reflejo del vómito cuando le está haciendo una felación, dándole igual que eso sea a causa de todas las violaciones que le ha hecho Dolohov. O como le encantan los pechos que le ha hecho crecer su secuestrador en contra de su voluntad; por mucho que ella diga que no le molestan porque antes era muy plana de pecho.
Lo único que consigues con estas cosas es romantizar unas situaciones de violencia sexual, y hacia la mujer, muy turbias. Y no me justifica que quisiera hacer el fic "dark". Se puede hacer un fic oscuro, contando la guerra y haciendo sufrir a los personajes, sin meterme esas situaciones horripilantes y totalmente innecesarias.
Que, hablando de innecesario, ¿de verdad era preciso que me pusiera a Dolohov abusando de ella OTRA VEZ al final de la guerra y no sólo desde la perspectiva de ella, si no también de la de Draco? Y no me vale que era para darle un final a Dolohov, porque al final de ese capítulo lo matan. Me pueden poner que Hermione se lo carga igualmente, sin necesidad de ver como él hace...esas cosas.
Lo que más me fastidia de todo esto es que la autora demuestra que pueden hacerse bien las cosas. Que ella puede escribir bien las cosas. Porque a la vez que estos dos se vuelven tóxicos hasta decir basta, la autora escribe un Theo Nott sublime y una Ginny espectacular. Que sí, los dos son tóxicos también...pero consigo mismos. Me refiero: los dos tienen sus traumas de la guerra que están intentando sobrellevar y conquistar lo mejor que pueden, pero no trasladan eso a su relación amorosa. De hecho, la autora demuestra que se puede ser romántico, sexy y escribir escenas hot sin necesidad de que se vuelvan turbias. Además, la profundidad que tiene el personaje de Theodore Nott me parece sublime. Tiene una transformación genial. Pero es una lástima que no sea suficiente para sobrellevar las otras 2000 y pico páginas de Dramione siendo tóxicos.
Podría seguir y seguir criticando este fic, porque de verdad que daría para un podcast. Sólo diré que, aunque la idea no es mala, llega un punto que la violencia hacia las mujeres y, en este caso hacia Hermione, ya no se pueden justificar. Nunca son justificables, pero menos de esta forma. Vuelvo a decir que, entiendo que quieras hacer sufrir a los personajes...pero ya basta. Que aquí hay escenas que son totalmente innecesarias.
¿El final? Muy sueño americano. Pero, ¿qué queréis que os diga? Después de más de 2000 páginas de capítulos llenos de Trigger Warnings, es toda la serotonina que necesitaba. Además, toda la trama de verlos crecer y REALMENTE sanar (y no la pantomima de cuando estaban los tres en Nott Manor), me ha gustado mucho. Sobre todo, viendo a Theo investigar sobre el último hechizo que le lanza Voldemort a Hermione y que le hace que su mente se vaya desintegrando poco a poco...como un cáncer.
Pero, como he dicho, el hecho de que el final sea tan bueno, demuestra que la autora ha escrito el resto porque le ha dado la gana y sin ningún tipo de objetivo detrás.

Me refiero: los dos tienen sus traumas de la guerra que están intentando sobrellevar y conquistar lo mejor que pueden, pero no trasladan eso a su relación amorosa. Además, la profundidad que tiene el personaje de Theodore Nott me parece sublime. Tiene una transformación genial. Pero es una lástima que no sea suficiente para sobrellevar las otras 2000 y pico páginas de Dramione siendo tóxicos.
Podría seguir y seguir criticando este fic, porque de verdad que daría para un podcast. Sólo diré que, aunque la idea no es mala, llega un punto que la violencia hacia las mujeres y, en este caso hacia Hermione, ya no se pueden justificar. Nunca son justificables, pero menos de esta forma. Vuelvo a decir que, entiendo que quieras hacer sufrir a los personajes...pero ya basta. Que aquí hay escenas que son totalmente innecesarias.
¿El final? Muy sueño americano. Pero, ¿qué queréis que os diga? Después de más de 2000 páginas de capítulos llenos de Trigger Warnings, es toda la serotonina que necesitaba. Además, toda la trama de verlos crecer y REALMENTE sanar (y no la pantomima de cuando estaban los tres en Nott Manor), me ha gustado mucho. Sobre todo, viendo a Theo investigar sobre el último hechizo que le lanza Voldemort a Hermione y que le hace que su mente se vaya desintegrando poco a poco...como un cáncer.
Pero, como he dicho, el hecho de que el final sea tan bueno, demuestra que la autora ha escrito el resto porque le ha dado la gana y sin ningún tipo de objetivo detrás.

Beautifully written. The realistic portrayals of trauma and healing, the raw emotions, the ups and downs, the progression of each character... it’s honestly perfection. Not only is this a dark voldy wins au, but it is also a story about healing, and the author does it justice. You feel each characters pain, you watch them grow/heal, and you really connect with them. This may be one story, but there are many stories interwoven in it. Each character has their own trauma and it’s so interesting to take a look into their minds and truly understand how each of them deal with it differently. Warning: you will fall madly in love with Theo Nott.

This may be an unpopular opinion since this fic has been highly recommended to me by Dramione fic lovers, but I did not like this fic at all. I ended up dnf'ing 3 chapters in, because the writing is not good and all the characters are severely OOC. I do not like my stories to be primarily dialogue. It also was to much of a fast-burn for me, like Draco was instantly in love with Hermione and has been for years. Safe to say I like my fics a little more slow-burn. Also heavy trigger warnings.

This was an absolutely masterpiece, and one of the more realistic “Voldy wins” war plot lines I’ve read. This belongs up there with Manacled and The Auction, and I don’t know why I don’t see this talked about more. God tier Dramione.
The Draco, Hermione, Theo, and Ginny from this story are some of my absolute favorite characterizations of them ever and I miss them already.
It took me almost 6 months to read this because I had to keep taking long breaks. This is one of the most angst filled fics I’ve ever read, and the drama does not resolve itself quickly by any means…and it was emotionally exhausting (in the absolute best way)
Mind the tags, this is a marathon of graphic and realistic depictions of SA, abuse, torture, panic attacks, and more, but the author does a good job of marking each individual chapter with trigger warnings.

DNF at 20%. I tried reading and listening to it and just found it more and more difficult to stick with. The writing felt juvenile and the characters were so far OoC. I’m also unsure of how I feel about how the trauma and healing is depicted. Of course no one experiences or heals from trauma the same way, so my review is based on my personal experiences, but this came across tone deaf and maybe a little naive. It seems like a fanfiction I would’ve enjoyed reading when I was 15 and thought I knew what it was like to be an adult but in reality didn’t know anything about relationships, trauma, or the ways of the world.
I will likely try to pick this up again in a few months because it has such high reviews, but it just didn't work for me at the moment.

And I couldn't stop reading.
This was so dark and angsty and truly horrific/realistic to what war can be. There was no pussy footing around hard things. It was defeating the hard things. I appreciated that.
Also, I had never thought of a Ginny/Theo pairing before and now I can't think of any more perfect coupling for the two of them.
So good.
Oh and I made my challenge with four and a half hours to spare. ;)

I really enjoyed this fanfic even when some scenes were pretty hard to digest. But I LOVED the journey of Theo and his development throughout the book which broke my heart more than once especially after CD Lynns notes to her real Theo. First fanfic I would recommend not only bc of dramoine (which is also amazing) but because of a „side character“.

My recent love of reading was really put to the test with this fanfic - I do not think any story needs to be 2,232 pages - that’s more than 3x the number of pages in the longest Harry Potter book (Order of the Phoenix). This was my second book in recent times that had my pet peeve - numerous epilogues - 5! If this story was edited down to around 450 pages I reckon I would’ve bumped it up maybe even 2 stars more. But because it was so dragged out it made reading feel like a chore, and I found myself actively wanting to avoid finishing this book.
In terms of the actual plot lines I feel Perfectly in Pieces didn’t feel as true to the source material in terms of both tone and character behaviour as some other fanfics I’ve read (Manacled / Secrets & Masks) - and that diversion did bother me. Without feeling a familiarity and therefore bond to the characters from the outset made it all the more different to be through the mammoth number of chapters.

DNF at ~25% through. I just couldn’t continue. Truly terrible writing. You don’t need to constantly be referring to characters by their hair color. Nor have so many paragraphs of internal pondering in between conversation dialogue. Plot was semi-intriguing but definitely had unbelievable aspects and not worth the physical pain inflicted by the terrible writing. Do not waste your time.

I DNFd at chapter 3. The story is fine I’m sure I saw a glimpse of what could be an amazing plot but the writing. I couldn’t do it. Not in the grammatical sense, I would simply be reading about one thing but in the next sentence the characters would be doing something completely different.

This took me MONTHS to finish and now I have no idea why. 3 months to make it to 30% and 2 days to get through the last 70%. The beginning is packed with so much trauma that I found myself needing breaks, and I thought the insta love from Draco was off putting. Well let me tell you, I was wrong. I understand now why the reviews say to push though. Holy ouch, holy racing heart, holy high blood pressure. I raced through the end of this book, I couldn’t take it in fast enough.

4.5 stars This is looong! And some parts are very difficult to read (please pay attention to the trigger warnings)! Hermione’s story is absolutely tragic and Theo’s childhood will break your heart. But this does have some spicy parts as well as some funny parts too, and, most importantly, a HEA. This is a story about trauma, healing, love, friendship, and acknowledging that who you are afterwards is ok, that you are enough.
