I like it, but the title was a little deceiving. I thought the story was more about a relationship that took forever to develop . . .like when Harry met Sally. LOL
Mehhh ive read better, but it was still cute and I finished! It took forever to get it rolling, it felt like I had to force myself a bit to keep reading. The time changes each chapter was a bit tiring and repetitive but also necessary for the story so it made it ok but just a bit confusing at times. But I do loveee poppy and alex and their dynamic! Sucker for a best friends to lovers trope
A humorous and heartfelt dive into that great overlapping area between love and friendship – is it one or the other, and how do you know? Take this ride (complete with escapist vacation locations) to figure it out (or remember how you did!). It reminded me of the fun I had reading Bridget Jones Diary.
I actually read this on vacation. I have a tendency to read more intense books, but this one was the right book at the right time for me. I found myself smiling throughout the book and shed a few tears as well. Next time I need a break from some of my heavier topics I will definitely revisit Emily Henry.
I wasn’t a huge fan of this one. I didn’t feel any build up of chemistry between the two main characters; as is the purpose of a slow burn. I felt that their characters were almost “brother and sister” like which ultimately turned into an ick throughout. I would recommend reading something like Normal People by Sally Rooney instead!
It was SUCH a good book I highly recommend. It did have some parts that were a little slow to get through but not many. It had just a little bit of Colleen hoover spice but nothing as overpowering, it was in a tasteful way. Everyone was stopping me where I was reading it asking about it and really do suggest it you give it a read.
I saw a girl on a plane reading this book and had heard about it and about about Emily Henry.
Super cute! Easy read that included all the best things - love story & travel. The chapters flipped between the current summer, 3 summers ago, 8 summers ago, etc. If I read it again, I’d try to read in chronological order. Would recommend as an easy summer book.
This was a GREAT BOOK!!!!! Omg! I haven’t read a good romance book in sooo long. This was it. It was so well written. I loved how every other chapter was a flashback too. All leading to one chapter every reader was waiting for. The anticipation was so worth it. I would recommend. Definitely liked this one more than her other books.
SpoilerI thoroughly enjoyed this book and binged it to my hearts content. It was written in such a way that we the readers could thoroughly understand the pain and yearning that the main couple were going through. Although the last 2 chapters felt drawn out to me, especially the long cliche speech that poppy gave to Alex in the end.
adore this book it was the first book i ever read it wasnt amazing looking back but i do think it was the perfect book to read as a first timer it had the perfect amount of everything like romance and emily explained everything in depth idk it just made me happy for a really long time
Reminds me of one my favorite movies, When Harry met Sally. Definitely a good book, but it was something I needed to read because I was so anxious about how it ended. If I could I would have read the last 10 pages first to calm my nerves… lol
Not a real review, just a note that I started this but could tell right away I was not in the right mind-set to enjoy this. I loved Beach Read, so I'm sure I'll pick this up again, but I needed something less....emotional? Less thoughtful? I dunno, but tb continued.
Good quick read. Or in my case “listen” as I listened to the audiobook on my way home from vacation. I had googled books to read if you enjoyed The Summer I Turned Pretty. This was one of them. It wasn’t outstanding but it was definitely good and kept me engaged.
Really enjoyed this and excited to see the movie! Was a cute friends to lovers story which I always love but was a liiiiitle slow in some parts but maybe I’m greedy and just like to get to the juicy parts quicker ahhahaahha
This is an OK book. The premise is fun, but has the classic issue that drives me crazy about romances, that we're perfect for each other but for a stupid reason we break up. Then we have to get back together.
Slow burn. It was cute - Alex and Poopy are fun characters. Felt like it was building to something bigger that might of happened to cause them not to speak for 2 years. Worrh reading, finished it in 2 days.

It took me soo long to get though this book! This was my first Emily Henry book. I liked the ending but wanted to get though it so I could compare to the Netflix movie. Felt like the story was slow and uninteresting.
The title was deceiving-not what I thought the book would be about but I did fall in love with the main characters and really enjoyed watching their relationship unfold.
