Discover how to overcome the doubts and anxieties in your head and become the strong, self-assured woman you’re meant to be
Do you often talk yourself out of doing things because you don’t feel you’re good enough?
Do you have difficulty saying no or standing up for yourself?
Have you ever stopped yourself from going for a sought-after promotion because you thought someone else could do better?
Have you been given a recognition or award for a job well-done, only to feel like you didn’t deserve it?
If you’ve said yes to the questions above, you’re like the majority of women who lack confidence in themselves despite their authenticity, skills and qualifications.
Unfortunately, in the workplace, confidence is just as important as competence.
That’s one of the reasons why women are still paid less than men for the same type of work, and there are still so few women in the C-Suite.
Women today are independent, well-educated and highly qualified. In the US, they have more advanced degrees than men and are fast closing in on middle management positions.
Yet, most of us still struggle with insecurities and doubts about our capabilities, while less qualified men strut about in confidence.
If you’ve ever let go of an opportunity because you didn’t think you could do it, or are stuck in a relationship or situation you feel unable to get out of, then this guide is for you.
It will show you the steps you can take to stop feeling worthless and undeserving, and finally embrace the woman you are inside.
In Confidence for Women, you will discover:
How to regain confidence in yourself despite the doubts and the lack of support from others How to prepare yourself to speak in front of a crowd, meet new people, or face other uncomfortable public encounters The easiest way to build self-confidence that you can apply to your life immediately Why these seemingly admirable qualities are actually holding you back from achieving your goals 4 quick and accessible techniques to help you manage stress and anxiety, no matter where you are or what you’re doing How to get out of a negative thought spiral with these simple physical adjustments How you can change a situation that’s out of your control and take back the narrative of your life Why you should be trying to fail more – and how you can get past your fear of failure And much more.
Even if others appear better than you, or they think you’re not good enough, your belief in yourself shouldn’t be based on someone else’s opinions or abilities.
You are good enough, regardless of what anyone else thinks or does.
Doubts may creep in sometimes, but don’t let them stop you from going after what you want.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before you can start believing in yourself. In fact, only by first believing in yourself will you be able to take on the world.
2.75 stars. I….. did not like this 😅 I really probably should’ve stopped listening, but it would bother me if it sat unfinished on Spotify. I think there are rare gems and nuggets of good things, but overall, I did not like how this was presented. If you prefer self-help in more of a science and factual based presentation, you’ll enjoy this book and get a lot out of it. For me, there are other authors and people I can get the same information from that present it better. It also really bothered me that the narrator had a southern accent? The narration didn’t start that way and about halfway through, it seemed more prominent
Not very impressed with this book, but only because I’ve studied psychology and the like for quite some time. If you’re just beginning your awareness/reflective journey, it has some good nuggets, but overall, there weren’t many new recommendations/info.
Very informative and very right I loved this book. It really gave me some great tools to take another look at myself, get out of my comfort zone and push boundaries, so I can become impressed with myself. The quotes throughout the book were really spot on and relevant. The key takeaways at the end of the chapters will make it easy for me to refresh if I feel down, and the exercises were brilliant. Overall, it was easy to read, made sense and I could imagine what I want to be within 30 days becoming a reality. I highly recommend.
3/⭐️🎧I listened to the audio version of this book. I am only just beginning my self help journey and decided to do that with some listening to some self help books while doing some chores and going on with my day. I am strictly a fiction reader (specifically romance) so this was very far out of my comfort zone and I typically struggle with any style of non-fiction, it never holds my attention enough and I usually do not end up finishing the book. This one however was not that case, I actually finished listening to this book in about four hours straight through. It was pretty straight to the point and easy to follow which helped a lot. However, it is nothing life changing. It’s all things we’ve heard before like journaling, exercise, eat healthy…you get it.
Moral of the review…if you are new to self help books it’s a great place to start! But if you are looking for your next read to find new ideas and things to add to your schedule I would maybe suggest a book that goes a bit more in depth.
Well that’s my last self help audiobook of the year. And perhaps of all time. What a low to finish on. This was incredibly disappointing and at times providing seriously outdated and out of touch advice.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s some solid pieces of self help advice here, but it felt like the same 3 things being told over and over again. Meditate, stretch, breathe, be healthy.. we know this. Nothing quite unique to the book itself like a different practise to try. Just regurgitating the basics
To be honest it really lost me at the rambling on about power poses and to look up to famous people to feel confident. What ridiculous advice.
There’s also some not quite accurate nutritional information which is concerning.
At points it’s just telling you “do this” where some people literally cannot. “Breastfeed your child for at least six months” - and if you can’t??
2.5 ⭐️ This was a very basic self help book. At the beginning of the book I thought it would be a nice reminder to hear some concepts again, since it’s good to remind yourself from time to time, but it turned really basic. For example some chapters were focused on “movement” and “mindfulness” with simple tips such as “get out and walk for 10 min”. That’s all fine and dandy, but I’ve read quite a few self help books now that this was just like… duh. Nothing profound coming from this book. I would get this book for a young girl possibly, or someone who has no clue about self care or mental heath techniques.
This book was okay. For someone who is already in-tune with my confidence and ways to overcome anxiety and nerves, this book didn’t offer much new insight and reinforces what I already know/do. I wish it had gone deeper into root causes and/or have given some more detailed examples of how women have grown their confidence. It lacked the inspiration of real-life stories. The book became repetitive and could have conveyed the information in a shorter number of pages.
“What Confident Women Do” was honestly the first self help book I read. It was refreshing and resourceful to learn different techniques on how to develop a healthy mindset. This book wasn’t about preaching but rather a gentle push in looking at things in a different and positive perspectives. It definitely has some helpful tools in how to manage and reduce stress. I would definitely recommend this book as helpful read.
I liked it as a starting point in your journey to harnessing your highest confident self. I definitely think that her tactics such as meditation, exercise, and journaling are a great place to start. I like that she addresses overthinking as I think many women fall victim to over analyzing situations.
Audio book - I appreciated the short chapters in this book. All the tips provided are what we can find online and learn ourselves if we have the time. For someone like me who doesn’t have the time, it was a good read as I needed the reminders.
Listen to it if you feel stuck in a rut or need a refresher on how to get yourself back on track 👍🏽
Honestly, this book could have been done after the first 5 chapters + chaper 19.
Very repetitive - said the same thing over and over in different ways.
If you've never sought out additional help to get out of a funk, it's helpful. However, if you're on the Nth time trying to find a new thing that would help, there is nothing new in this book.
I listened to this on audio while cleaning and cooking. She had some great reminders and some general tips for a happier healthier life like being selective with your inner circle, the way that you carry yourself, movement/mindfulness, etc. Not necessarily anything ground breaking but the chapters were broken up and organized well. Great for someone beginning their health journey.
Advocating book Not much messaging on how to directly connect it to success. Lots of positive visualization advice. Eat well rest and take care of yourself and things will be well
I enjoyed this audiobook. It was a great overview of things to do (and not to do), but is definitely a bit repetitive of other professional development books, if you are avid in studying personal and professional growth. This would be great for someone early on in their career.
2.5 ⭐️. I listened to this as an audiobook. If you are familiar with self help books, it’s nothing out of the ordinary. It’s good reminders about mediation, law of attraction, faking it until you make it, having more compassion with yourself.
Listened to the audiobook. A gentle reminder that you hold the power to bringing positivity into your life. The information in this book is nothing new but it was nice being reminded that it really is that simple, you are what you attract.
The advice is ok, good habits to create but it all seems very superficial. You get the same advice in 1min videos in Youtube/instagram. Maybe I already read too many similar books, if you are new to this you might enjoy it I did not finish the book
There were some good reminders, but I felt it was more basic than I was hoping.... like most of the items were things I had heard before in other books I have read/listened too. Good refresher, just nothing groundbreaking.
I really liked the intro/ sample to this audiobook on Spotify. But honestly I felt like it was a waste of my credit hours. Nothing revolutionary was learned and I didn’t get much out of it. Pretty boring.
Stresses the importance of daily habits and how they boost your self esteem and confidence. Things like meditation, journaling, exercise, etc. Nothing revolutionary, but it always helps to hear these tips regularly because they do work!
Easy and short Audiobook. Most information covered were things I already knew from other books or podcasts. All topics were very surface deep and I was hoping for some deeper insight than the book could provide. Overall still an enjoyable listen.
