Challenging the basic assumptions of theoretical physics

Rate this book
Theoretical physics has had fantastic successes in the past 100 years. Despite all these successes, there are a lot of problems at the foundational level that remain unanswered. These include but are not limited is dark matter and dark energy ? How can galaxies and galactic clusters stay together when there is insufficient mass to provide the gravitational force that is necessary? Why does General Relativity characterize the universe as a smooth continuous relation between manifold curvature and energy, while Quantum mechanics suggests that discrete bundles of matter and energy is the correct model? Why does quantum mechanics work ? How do you interpret the wavefunction? What happened to all the antimatter in the universe? Why do we need to use procedures like renormalization (subtracting infinity from infinity to get a renormalized finite value) for very fundamental calculations in physics? Some of these questions have been tackled for a hundred years, with no resolution. When you fail to make progress for a long time, sometimes it is best to challenge the fundamental foundations of theories with radical new ideas. The purpose of this book is to challenge some basic assumptions in physics and provide some alternate ones. Many of the assumptions are cherished ones and will be hard to abandon. That is exactly why they should be. You must start taking a pragmatic look at abandoning assumptions when you run into no experimental evidence for your theories and start clinging to processes and procedures you know are fundamentally incorrect. The areas I will be exploring are as Adding Dimensions.Dark matter/ordinary matterDisappearing AntimatterDark EnergyRenormalizationUncertainty PrincipleQuantum the origin of the wavefunctions
