Life couldn’t be better for Nora’s friend Prudence Willoughby. She’s got her dream job in an art gallery, her own artwork is gaining recognition, and she’s got an eclectic group of friends that don’t mind when she goes into hermit-mode.
So, it’s understandable when she wants to pretend that she doesn’t notice the weird things happening at work, like art going missing and her boss acting like nothing happened. But when she shows up to find a live alligator in the gallery, it’s too much to ignore.
Fortunately, she’s got a group of friends that love sticking their noses where they don’t belong, and the crew sets out to help her solve the mystery. It sends them on a journey full of twists and turns, leading through the dark underbelly of the art world.
Can they find out who put the gator in the gallery—and why—before the warning turns into something more dire?
Gator in the Gallery is the third installment in the lighthearted and fun Nora Jones Mysteries, full of endearing characters, intriguing mysteries, and a dash of romance.

Nora Jones the bookstore owner.. Has another mystery to solve. who put the gator in the in the gallery well Nora is always up to something this time she has gotten her nose in too deep.
Her friends tell stories of how she broke her nose but that's not How it happened..Always a mystery with Nora. But finding out the truth is what Nora does. And running her bookstore. Looking for new employees ones that are willing to work , Which can be a job these days.. I truly loved the last add Nora put in the paper perfect spot on that made me laugh.
Having mom pop in this story was fun Nora's mom is always so worried about her outfits but this time there was more than just outfits to worry about...
These stories are always so enthralling, Huffman writes a darn good story... I myself am always looking for that next book in this series.
This book was so much fun! I have read all three installments of the Nora Jones mystery series and enjoyed every single one. Gator in the Gallery might just be my favorite so far.
Nora has inherited several businesses and a healthy bank account, and the circle of friends she’s gained since moving to St. Augustine continually benefit from her kind and generous nature. When she receives a call from Pru, a former employee, who tells her there is a ten-foot alligator in the art gallery, Nora springs into action once again—not only using her ever growing detective skills to figure out who is behind the dangerous prank but ponying up the cash needed to save the misplaced reptile.
With this latest book, Huffman delivers a lively narrative involving the colorful cast of characters she’s created. This story flows beautifully and had me chuckling throughout. Nora is a person I just know I’d be great friends with, and if Worth Their Salt Books was a real shop, I’d be applying for that position she’s having such a difficult time filling. I absolutely loved the way this book ended and am eager to find out how this story continues.
Nora Jones believes that her friend, Prudence Willoughby, will be successful as an artist. She is so talented. Pru is working at Diane's gallery to gain more experience, but she's uneasy with the strange things happening there. When a ten foot gator is put inside, Pru asks Nora to look into the goings on. Nora has a nose for shenanigans. She knows that Diane is hiding something. I knew she was right. I just wasn't sure what. I enjoyed watching Nora track down the truth. She and her friends have a way of finding out what's going on. I found the relationship between Nora and her mother interesting. It showed another side of her. All the characters in Gator in the Gallery added to the story. I especially liked her romance with Rafael. They are a wonderful couple. I guess I'll have to wait and see how everything between them works out. Heather Hoffman has written a enjoyable cozy mystery. I can't wait to see what happens next. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.
Gator in the Gallery is the latest addition to the Nora Jones Mysteries and it was such a fun read!
I really enjoyed that Nora's mom came to visit in this book and we got to know her in addition to the usual members of Nora's circle of friends. As usual the setting of St. Augustine adds a lot to the books and the well-plotted mysteries will have you guessing right up until the end.
What I love most about this series by Heather Huffman is that Nora has built herself a wonderful "family" of friends, and feels strongly about empowering other women, treating everyone like she'd want to be treated, and sharing the wonderful good fortune that came her way when she inherited the bookstore from her long-estranged uncle. This series is the kind of feel-good read I think many of us are looking for, especially now.
Thank you to the author and publisher for providing an ARC at my request. All thoughts in this review are my own and happily shared.
Nora's life is turned topsy turvy when her mother appears for an unexpected visit from California. Or is it the alligator Pru discovered in the art gallery that has Nora agitated? Good thing this bookstore owner has deep pockets, because she has to buy an unusual animal farm to relocate the huge gator.
This delightful third book in the series has a little bit of everything plus reminders of events in previous books. Mystery, acquiring another new business, trying to hire a replacement for August at the bookshop, romance, and parents are deftly combined in a manner that keeps the reader rushing to the end while chuckling and shaking their head. Delightful series and particularly enjoyable book make this one I recommend for all.
Another light-hearted book in the Nora Jones Mysteries. I wasn't quite as taken with this story as previous ones, but that doesn't mean it was bad.
In this book Nora acquires another business much to the chagrin of her CFO, takes on a door and loses, and has to replace yet another manager at her bookstore. Readers are also introduced to Nora's mother, Emily and we got to see a little bit of the dynamic of their relationship. I especially like how Emily and Raf's abuela teamed up. I do look forward to reading more of the Dynamic Duo. We are treated to more of Nora and Raf's relationship, as well as August and Leo's. And of course, more of Miss Margo and her antics.
Nora Jones is who I want to be if I could go back a few years. She is a fun, quirky character that can’t help but get involved in another mystery in beautiful St. Augustine. Heather Huffman does not disappoint and has written another bestseller about Nora and her adopted family in FL. In this book we get introduced to Nora’s mom and I promise you will love her. If you haven’t read any of these books do it now. Hurry…what are you waiting for? Fun and easy to read, Nothing else to ask for except the next book in the series.
This third book in Heather Huffman’s Nora Jones cozy mystery series had me in “stitches”. The characters I already love and the new ones fit together so perfectly; and Charlotte and Margo were just delightful as usual. Nora and her friends are certainly a “plucky” band. Ms Huffman can really cook up a mystery. I want to recommend Gator In the Gallery and indeed the series as easy to read entertainment that will keep the reader’s mind on the mystery to be solved.
I read this book as an ARC and wish to thank Heather Huffman and the publishers. The ideas in this review are solely my own. Happy New Year!!
So very Florida including an alligator in this one! The series just gets better and Nora continues to become a force to be reckoned with in St. Augustine. Nora helping her former employer, Prudence, grow her artistic abilities at a local gallery shows what Nora is all about - helping her friends expand and grow. The mysteries encountered this time bring on more drama and murder to the town. I especially liked the development of the new owner of the business next door to the bookstored.
a really fun read that captured me on the very first page! Interesting, complex and quirky characters fill this wonderful story. Lots of twists and turns, murder and mayhem, make this a fun read that I could not put down! Nora is a very interesting character that I want to read more about! This book will make you laugh and keep you wanting to turn the pages. A must read!
I received a free advance review copy of this book and am voluntarily providing my honest review. Another great Nora Jones book, her mother surprises her with a visit. Nora buys another business on a spur of the moment. I didn't want to stop reading because something is always happening in this book. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next one in the series.
Nora Jones Mysteries is a cozy mystery series. This is my favorite book of the series. It was a fun read and to be honest, I did not guess the person who did the crime as well. Nora's interactions with her mom were great. We really got to see their relationship evolve. Each character adds something special to the book. I hope there are more books to come because these were addicting to read.
Again I really enjoy these books. There are a lot of people and always a lot going on. Nora keeps buying businesses and putting friends in charge of them. Everyone ends up happy and mysteries are solved. Nice to see her Mother and Rafael's grandmother involved in all the shenanigans. Fun books. Going to start on the fourth!
I found this book somewhat lack luster. The other two books were fun, but this one was kind of boring. I felt the author was trying to get in too many messages about ecology and other issues.
Sometimes, I just want to read a book to enjoy it without feeling as if the author is going to break out in "Kum BY YA".
BUT, it is a great shame this is the last book in this entertaining series!! Personally, I would love to read another dozen or so stories about all the women involved. Maybe even to the point where Nora and Rafael end their 'stand-off' and become an excellent investigative team.
Such a cute book! There was something about it that I didn't like as much as the first two, but I can't seem to put my finger on what exactly it was. But still a great book overall. I still love the comedy/romance/mystery genre.
It’s always fun spending time with Nora Jones, her family and friends. Thanks for another delightful read, Heather, I look forward to your next book in this series.
I truly love this series…the characters, the setting, the mystery…they are all so much fun. If you’re looking for a lighthearted adventurous read, would definitely recommend this book and the series!
Gator in the Gallery is the 3rd book in the Nora Jones Mysteries by Heather Huffman and I believe these books got better as they go! What a wonderful read! You’ll never guess what Nora purchases in this one!
Just the name should tell you its got to be good. A gator, 2 budding romances, sorta, and you have a fairly fast moving story. Great characters, good story line, and its clean, and a book you can relax and enjoy. Get it. Read and enjoy.
I really enjoyed this series, I am really bummed I'm finished. They were a great distraction for life's trials. I can't wait to read more from this author.
Gator in the Gallery kept me smiling and laughing like the first two books in the series. I’m enjoying the camaraderie between the friends, family, and couples in this series. Another win for Heather Huffman.
The story was interesting and really fun to read. The characters were quirky with delightful dialogue. I hope there are more books in the series in the future.
