I like the premise, its a new type of MFC for a zombie book. It’s a fun read, but there is the predictability that comes with a lot of zombie stories.

I really wanted to enjoy this book like I have with the authors other books.. unfortunately I just found it boring.. I actually struggled to

Hannah and Cody were infected but a pair of strangers healed them with an injection
Whatever was in the shot they were given cured the rabies variant and restored their lives, amnesia kept them from remembering what they had been through and what they had done. Except in their dreams, where fragments of their zombie past fueled their nightmares. The nice couple who saved them were eaten shortly after, but left them with several vials of the "cure" and a warning that they still needed a vaccine to keep the virus from taking over again and start eating people again. And now that they were "alive again " the infected wanted to eat them. They'll figure it out. Hopefully.
It's hard to identify characters who don't remember what happened to them or who they really were. The storyline is good; the premise believable. The story is good, but hard to tell where it's really going until Hannah and Cody remember who and what they really are. I'm hoping that the next book in the series reveals more about them and the world they live in now. Crossing my fingers until I continue the story.

The premise of this book is what made me pick it up. How often do we see zombie books? ALL the time! How often do we see them from the zombie's perspective? Hardly ever!
Pros: again, the plot is what initially drew me in. As a real life scientist, zombie infections annoy me because they never seem realistic, but I was glad this book seemed so for the most part.
I was also intrigued because a vaccine actually exists, though we don't know that much about it. Hopefully book two releases soon.
Cons: if you're an action lover, this story is super led by it. I'm not personally, so I honestly skimmed through many of the scenes until it was dialogue and story driven again. Not a bad thing overall, but all my reviews are pros/cons format, so I had to put something here.
Conclusion: if you're sick of the same zombie apocalyptic reads, give this one a chance and see what you think!

Brilliant concept.
Alive Again is one of those books that seems simple on the surface but, like an onion, has layers. To me it’s a summary of the realities of survival when the odds are way against you. To have a cure that only works for some is a brilliant idea. I really enjoy zombie stories and this one ticked all the right boxes. An excellently written story of second chances and so much more.

I love this stuff it's always a nail biter and he makes the people without too much rhetoric into people you care for.
This is the first book I've read that has the cure everybody is looking for and it threw me for a loop so it took me a little while to get comfortable with this book but I love everything the PiperBrook writes

Imagine waking up not knowing where you are and why zombies are chasing you. This is a great take on a zombie story with likable characters and a bit of a twist. The writer keeps you engagedfrom the beginning to end and leaves you wanting more. Can't wait for the next one.

3.75/5 for this one. Judging by the cover, I wasn't expecting this to be any good but I am glad I was wrong. This was an interesting take on the zombies genre but akin to the 2013 flick 'Warm Bodies'.
The writing is cinematic and it can easily be adapted as a screenplay.

Decent if by the numbers zombie book. Nothing amazing here, but good comfort food if your hungry for a zombie apocalypse.

The biggest glaring issue was there was little to no continuity. Diesel and the bus are made to be amazing because of longevity and distance, then is changed the next chapter with "actually, the bus is a gas guzzler!" The same is said with how Ian dies, which is either a hallucination of Hannah or changes. Characters don't keep consistent traits, emotions don't stick, trauma does not continue from one fight to the next, and set in stone rules change or shift every chapter.
People who are "alive again" show little to no consequences of being dead. There is no bite mark, no massive injuries, no "this is how this happened." It's a couple scratches here and there. Consequences don't feel real when conflicts lead to a minor scrape and a shirt ripped while fighting a horde in a barn. Characters don't have much personality if any. For teens in high school, they felt like hardened survivors. One can drive a stick like a professional driver and the other shoots like it's natural instinct. Supplies? Limitless.
The funniest thing to me was the idea of food being scarce while animals were running everywhere. Chipmunks, squirrels, crows, birds; the reader was literally told birds were chirping and animals dashing across the street, yet there is also this floating idea of people starving. Why is nobody fishing? Hunting? Trapping?
Every side character either died immediately or was evil set aside the single June and her son, which started with a gun in our protagonists' faces. The immediate first chapter is lore drop that was overwhelming and almost immediately forgotten due to teleporting characters, random birds, and flat dialogue.
I just wanted more emotion, more continuity, something that made the world feel lived in instead of a map in a game constantly generating around the characters and their every whim and desire.

Quite shallow and boring. Lots of pointless dialogs which don't really go anywhere or just makes you want to facepalm. The whole setting is just meh and feels more like a draft for the book. Ending is so abrupt that almost missed that book 1 finished.
Could not even get through the second book, it's never ending pointless blablabla talking, would rather listen to ads.

Alive Again is starting out to be another great series by T. W. Piperbrook! It gives a bit of a different take on the usual zombie story. In this series there is a cure that only works on some, and a vaccination for everyone else. A few times during the book I couldn't help but think this may have been inspired a little by the current covid pandemic. Stacey Glemboski is new to me but I loved her narration. I'm definitely looking forward to the rest of this series!
