June Daughton was watching TV with her family one moment, and the next moment her reality of life changes forever.

Two, time-travelling agent, Drex and Mira take June with her and to protect her from clutches of Codax. June is perplexed and, she has no idea what is going on around her. What does all this mean and who is Codax. Will June find answers to her questions?

June’s life is upended in matters of second. Once she leaves with Drex and Mira, her reality is convoluted. Everything she knew changed and everyone she knew isn’t around her. The description of the tunnel and the headquarters are vivid.

The book is brilliant. It delivers the concept time travel with such crispness and clarity; readers have no difficulty understanding it. In this short book, the author did a remarkable job in explaining the intriguing topics.

The beauty of the book also lies in June’s relationship with her parents. The ending is beautiful and heart-warming.

The book follows the two narration, in the present where June escapes with the time agents. The second narration involves two people in love and talking to each other about despair, pain and being on the two sides of principles.

The book is fast-paced, and the readers wishing there were more. The ending is beautiful and serene.

My rating for the book is four stars.

I thank the author for the copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

This is a fast tempo story that is centered around June, as well as a pair of Time Travelers who arrive through a portal, smack dab in the middle of the living room June, and her brother are gathered in, watching some sort of gameshow on TV. They really mess up the nice evening they were having, but more importantly, explain that June is being hunted by other Time Jumpers for reasons that honestly, June doesn’t believe, or understand. So begins her journey from the norm.

Things I Liked

I really enjoyed the descriptions of the Headquarters, located outside the normal time stream, as well as scientific explanations, and terms, the writer presents to June. In the hopes that she would understand, and be on board with the crazy plan they hope to include her in.

There is also a pair of characters we glimpse, every other chapter or so, that seem to carry the weight of the universe. They create, with Godlike powers and abilities, while dealing with a dividing issue that seems to be pushing they away from each other. Part of what made the story interesting is trying to figure out who these two are, and where in heck they fit into all this.

I liked the galactic scope of things around these two, and as Creator’s, with all powerful abilities that clearly have personalities with problems, it gave a nice shade to the story. There were some great atmospheric descriptions of solar, and planetary creation as well in these chapter breaks that I enjoyed.
Opportunities
I would’ve liked more detail in regards to June, maybe give the reader a bit more of her story, or her life struggles and experiences. That would have helped me care more about her. I think I would’ve liked to see, or get a better impression of, June as somebody who plays a bigger role in the society she lives in, just to make the stakes higher. I realize I’m pushing it, I am not the one who put my heart out there and wrote this book of course. I only mention those things in the hopes that as an up and coming writer, maybe my comments help Nicholas in some small way in his future works, which I will be excited to follow!

Thank you to the author for an electronic copy that was provided in exchange for an honest review.

💜🌌 Original !

In front of the screens, a group of young people impatiently awaited the results of a game.

At the announcement of the two winners, the spectators are upset. As they begin to argue, a strange electric blue ring appears in the middle of the living room...

--------------

Two unequal stories that blend together in the general story of the novel.

If I liked one of the two stories (time travel), I did not like very much the second story (the couple who manipulates universe).

Therefore a rather mixed reading, with the time travel part original and captivating to read.

BUT everything is linked and the end is rather bluffing !

For fans of original novels.

Solvents by Nicholas Lawrence Carter is a quick read with an intriguing concept. Time travel and powerful beings caught my attention. However, the story is not so black and white as it seems and I like the ambiguous aspect of this throughout the plot. The writing is solid and I only wish it was further expanded.

The cover art is awesome.
