High school is never easy. Neither is seeing ghosts.
Brynn Sullivan knows these two facts all too well. In this thrilling prequel novella to the Soul Seeker Cozy Mystery series, Brynn tries to balance going to school with helping the local Sheriff solve a murder.
Travel back in time and join Brynn, Logan, and Bernie as they they race to solve their first official case.
I'm not a fan of prequels, and this one did nothing to change my mind. I didn't like seeing all the bullying that was going on. As a teacher, dealing with bullies was so frustrating. We all knew what was going on, but any attempts to intervene only seemed to make things worse for the victim of the bullying. The ending was not satisfying. It left too much up in the air. The last 10% of the book was a teaser chapter for a book I'd already read. It's frustrating to have to find a way to get to the end so the book shows up as "read."
I liked how the story was planned out. It moved along quickly with much crazy high school action that was so incredibly realistic for a small town. Readers will love Hannah's cat and how Hannah uses her amazing abilities for good. This is a relaxing and interesting read!
This is book 4 but it's kind of a prequel. It goes back to when Brynn and Luke were in high school and she was just learning how to really deal with her ability and how to help the ghosts she saw. Brynn's cat Bernie is still just a loving little kitty and she is learning he may have some special abilities too. It is a short book but good to read and see the growth in them.
Book is so awesome!! I don't know how authors do it. New stories in every book! I love to read. Countnry's stories are never boring. Cosy mysteries are so far above stories with bad language,or very descriptive murder. If you haven't read one before, now is the time to start!
I am glad to know some of the background of Bernie and Brynn. Not too teen angst yet gives you a good background on the characters. The mystery was interesting. I cannot wait for their next adventure.
I enjoyed the story and how it ended. The characters were well developed and real, as was the high school angst. I recommend the book and plan on reading more by this author.
As the other books in this series it was as fascinating and mind boggling as the others because this series will keep you excited about how things are gonna work out in the. As always this book is a success.
This is an interesting book in a unique series. The main character has the ability to see ghosts and is quite often called for help not just for her services as a real estate stager, but more to remove ghosts or other beings that are inhabiting and haunting various locations. I really enjoyed the book and looking forward to reading the next one.
Amazon synopsis: Brynn Sullivan knows these two facts all too well. In this thrilling prequel novella to the Soul Seeker Cozy Mystery series, Brynn tries to balance going to school with helping the local Sheriff solve a murder.
This is actually a short story Prequel, even though it presents as Book 4 in the series. It explains the primary ghost mystery that Brynn and Logan solved (and Bernie) while still in high school. You also get glimpses into the bullying Brynn experienced growing up as a ghost "whisperer".
Positioning a prequel as Book 4 of a series is really lame, no matter how you look at it. Yes, the story pretty effectively provided good info that contributed to the story line, BUT a prequel does not belong at position 4 in a series!
I love learning how it all got started. And knowing that her family loved and supported her even if they didn't totally understand what she can do is wonderful to know.
This book tells the story of the beginning of Bryn's gifts. When she was in High School she finds the ghost of a woman who was missing for several years.
