Beautifully flawed love

Whew Christina and Amos went through it!
Lawd when Christina spiraled she spiraled so damn hard. Instead of being willing to listen she just didn't want to feel. It was hella sad because to me it seemed like she felt like she wasn't worthy enough to be with Amos, so when she found out about his mistake it was like it consumed her. Those dirty fake a$% herbalists that preyed on her vulnerabilities and many others deserved to suffer greatly. I mean that situation was wild. The scene at the gate in the rain where Amos had a break and was reckless with his words broke me, because I knew it was going to send her down a deep dark path. She went through so much; her body, mind, and heart had been through a lifetime of pain. There stood Amos though, not always in the right but there for her.
Amos was head over heels in love with Christina. He struggled to share his feelings though. He grew up without a mother and missed out on that softness. He tried to show it in his actions. She was so broken, but he didn't try to fix her but he supported her and made her feel beautiful. He was so enthralled with her that he didn't handle situations how he normally would and it ended up coming back to bite them terribly. As he tried to save Christina, he was also learning about himself and his family. There was so much growth emotionally for the Duke family.
I definitely feel like we need Angel's story now.

One thing, I wish there was a better cover. A woman with fingerwaves and a better suit for the man just to portray the characters. Loved this beautifully flawed story though.

There was too much back and forth in this story for me. Generally when I begin an audiobook…I complete it the same day…but, this one took a while for me to complete…it dragged for me.

draggg

I’m sorry, you could’ve kept this one. It was a total drag from the beginning. Well, actually, by the end of the third book, I knew this book would be overkill. You could’ve kept the whole storyline about crime trying to kill her instead of her getting mad about Amos not telling her, he hired him to kill her.Chris’s behavior was so annoying and all over the place. I’m sorry it was just too unbelievable.

What a wonderful ending! I want more! Can we have another Duke story!?! Lol I loved how flawed and beautiful both Amos and Christina were. Battling the past and addiction showed how strong and committed they both were. Loved this story.

Redemption

This book gave you all the romance feels but I especially loved the redemption! I thoroughly enjoyed this series and hope this isn't the last we see of these couples.

So I have finished this series! I enjoyed it thoroughly. The story will deliver laughs, frustrations, happiness, and shock. The Duke family is something else. Who knew Billionaires acted like this?!

He saved her alright

He saved her, over and over and over again! It became redundant. I was confused from jump at why Chistina was mad, she knew in book one Amos was hired to killer and he told her he knew Curtis hired someone. Also, how does any of them "Billionaires" let her go on a 3 day crack binge? 🤔 Then the book went left regarding recovery and treatment. Aaaaand Amos' mother part was ridiculous 🙄, how many times will she get beat up for leaving? Didn't that prove her WHOLE point of them being raised wrong. And I didn't like Duke through this whole book.... he was extremely harsh for no reason to Amos. The book was disappointing but i will continue to support this author.

ugh That Freaking Chris

I did not know I had that many nerves until Chris stepped on every single last one of them.. I did not like this heroine. Yes she went through a lot but gee whiz.. you use that as an accuse to be an irritating human.. I’m no all for happily ever after s but wouldn’t be mad if Amis had net somebody else and ended up with them.. 5 stars for the author and execution of this book but the story?… nah.. Chris messed it up.. five stars again because I really felt like Chris was a real life person.. lol lol

This book brought it all... I mean there was nothing left out... There was so many secrets, lies, hurt feelings, death, excessive drug use, depression, and battles to get their life back on track... Emotions were on high throughout this whole book not only for the characters but for me as well... There was so much build up and anticipation on how everything was going to play out.... I had times that I could not stop reading because I had to know what was going to happen next...
Christina went through so much and had no idea on how to handle it all... It became so much for her that eventually she lost herself and put herself in so many life threatening situations... She spiraled out of control so bad it was a wonder of anyone could reach her to help save her from herself... To her she had absolutely no one in her corner... She felt that everyone was against her and judging her... Including her best friend Val... Her mind and emotions had her shut off to the world... Then she is hit with surprising news and now she is ready to fight... She needed to fight.... But then everything is snatched away from her again and it was like that was her breaking point...
Amos is such a good guy... He just made some bad decisions along the way... He is new to feelings and love... But no matter how much he fought it... The woman he hated so much came in and snatched his heart and would not let it go... No matter how much she tried to pushed him away... This was all new to him and he didn't know what to do or where to place his anger and hurt... It was so hard for him that no matter what he did he could not stay focused... He was zoning out and missing important information... This could have hurt him and his family... He was also out there trying to figure things out with his mom... So he was really distracted... Just when he thought that things were going great... His happiness is snatched right from his hands... But he fights and fights and fights for what he wants and needs...
These families had so many secrets and issues way before and it all has trickled down to the kids... This is the main reasons that Amos and Chrstina kind of are the way they are...
Christina and Amos had a long hard battle to try and figure things out... They hurt eachother like no one else could... But also were the reason for eachothers happiness... No matter how many obstacles were thrown at them... They fought it all to get to where they are now... Little did both of them know that the hate they had for one another would change to the greatest love one could ever have...

Recovery is every day! 10/5 ⭐️s

***WARNING!!! This is a long review***

First off, let me say that out of all 4 books in this series THIS IS THE BEST ONE!

Amos and Christina’s story is my fav. I read a lot and while I have been conflicted on the writing (especially the spicy scenes), the way the author wrote their story is so very touching. In book 3, Amos finds out Christina’s pseudo psychiatrist and pharmacist is actually drugging her and allowing others to have sex with her without her knowledge. My logical mind was like 🤔 uummm…so he’s gonna have sex with her unprotected without getting tested? I wish the author would’ve plugged that, but I digress. I also struggled with her parents including her in an adult situation based on their poor decisions and then demanded she forgive them and accept more of their cruel, insensitive and poor choices. HUMANS ARE VERY SELFISH AND VILE CREATURES I SWEAR.

All in all, Christina held to true to her strength in dealing with it how she saw fit for herself. Forgiveness is on no one’s time table BUT the person working to forgive. 🤷🏾‍♀️ Sorry not sorry for that statement.

In this book, we find out during Christina’s relapse that she is pregnant. I enjoyed reading how she chose to do better and get better. How Amos supported her even taking accountability for the part he played in the events leading to her relapse. I was very disappointed to find that the duke’s mother was the type of woman she is and that AD Jr. allowed her back in despite being in a long standing relationship with Dr. Wallace. While I am NOT a supporter of affairs, I do understand that through the turmoil of that marriage and the fact that the wife kept leaving - opened the door for another party to easily step in. I do also commend Dr. Wallace for being what those Duke children needed in the absence of said mother. Also, while making a stand for her own happiness and choosing herself.

This book was sooooooo good. Miss J. really found her footing and you can really see the series evolve in this last chapter. The ending was the best present wrapped perfectly with the biggest bow.

Healing comes with work! Thank you Miss J. Shedding light on recovery from addiction, rape, childhood trauma and adultery all in one book is tricky but you did an EXCELLENT job.

Saved By A Billionaire 2 is a solid book with serious dark themes. I wasn't expecting this urban fiction novel to be dark romance, but here we are. The MMC, Amos Duke, is still strong, sensitive, and protective - everything you expect in an urban fiction's MMC. His character changes significantly from Stolen By A Billionaire and Saved By A Billionaire 1 - the result of love, I suppose.

The story takes a really dark turn It switches in some ways from dark urban romance to dark urban fiction with a women's fiction twist. Though it was unexpected, the story itself was well written with strong character development.

I recommend the entire Duke Family Series from Miss J. Make sure you're in a healthy mental space for the books, however, as they can be really triggering. However, they're well written and engaging from start to finish. I look forward to reading future books written by Miss J.

Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - The book doesn't rely on spicy scenes, but when they're included, they're very steamy and graphic.

Content Warnings:
Graphic: Addiction, Confinement, Cursing, Drug abuse, Drug use, Gore, Rape, Sexual content, Grief, Gaslighting, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Death, Domestic abuse, Emotional abuse, Gun violence, Infidelity, Miscarriage, Physical abuse, Self harm, Toxic relationship, Violence, Pregnancy, and Abandonment
Minor: Child abuse, Homophobia, Panic attacks/disorders, Rape, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Suicidal thoughts, Blood, Medical content, Kidnapping, Stalking, Murder, and Alcohol

The first half of this series was amazing, but it would’ve been a better ending to have Crime just kidnap her somewhere else. Why would a woman (high or not) go to the man that placed a hit on her head? Doesn’t make sense. Why would a woman, who knows her man is an assassin, be shocked that he was contracted to kill her? Especially, since she knows he told her about this hit from the jump… It truly didn’t make any sense to me.

There love was tumultuous. Too many lows and not enough highs. Truly sad. She went to rehab but it didn’t show any changes on how being sexually assaulted affected her. Too unrealistic.

Then, the storyline about the matriarch of the family. Everyone abusing their mother without the full storyline was troublesome to me. I just can’t see myself in any way.. Putting my hands on someone who gave birth to me. If anything, she drove herself almost crazy to keep her kids save from the family’s business. It worked out in the end, but that’s not every realistic story.

I did not care for how Dr. Wallace was painted to be an angel. She slept with a married man for DECADES and accepted being loved behind closed doors. Understandable, she was there through everything but she was obsessively in love with a man. She didn’t even correct him on how he raised kids to be heartless killers. Mrs. Duke was worried about her kids. I can understand everyone saying she should’ve stayed and endured it. But, who wants to watch their kids become heartless and cold all because your husband demands it? If she didn’t disappear, he would’ve continued killing everyone in her life similar to Dr. Wallace. Dr. Wallace was no SHEro and didn’t deserve all the shine for all of that. He willingly cheated with both of them and did the same recently. Then, she stays after he finally notices after 30 years, she was the one? (Going off their ages) What kind of backwards side storyline is that?

Well worth the wait.

Now, i have been stalking the author social media for the releasing since I read the first book. This was so well worth the wait. The author writes really good sex scenes and I wasn’t even tripping that the first descriptive scene she wrote wasn’t until like page 262, ugh this book was just that good. I was sad because it did seem like Christina couldn’t catch a break and that even made me skeptical of Helen Young and her organization. I’m so happy that worked out and she was able to connect with Ember. I’m sorry, but it was still fuck her parents for me. Their selfish actions totally wrecked Christina and I cringed for her at her mother’s releasing. Christina showed up looking like a cry for help and her mother still played her to the side smh. I’m so glad that she had Amos and his love for her never wavered. I loved Amos, period. I don’t want to spoil too much for readers, but I would def recommend this series and Endiya Carter/Miss J’s work to everyone. She pens the perfect mix of drama, sex, love and COMEDY in all her books.

Well this book shut me up! I was so nervous to read this book that’s why the start date says Nov 2021 😩🥴. The book left off with Crime interrupting the date where Amos and Christina were going to become official, and I feel like we go down heel from there! Christina completely begins to spiral after a truth is revealed by Crime in relation to his connection with Amos. Christina ends up learning the truth about her former therapist and other situations around her that add to this spiral. The journey from there was heartbreaking, infuriating and stressful to get back to normalcy for both Christina and Amos. Christina had to learn to save herself and Amos had to learn to fight for Christina and deal with his mother and brothers issues. When the truth is revealed about the family situation I felt terrible for Amos, Duke, and Duke senior. That story was deeper than I was expecting. Christina’s resolve with her family also shocked me! Miss J took her time writing this story and not rushing Christina’s story and I appreciated that! The HEA we get in the end made the journey sooo worth it! I definitely recommend this series for anyone! And my man Dymon Danger was first in this book! I’m annoyed I didn’t read this sooner!

Everything!!

I’m almost sad it’s over. This series was really good! I believe k read it backwards but it doesn’t matter because I’m still enjoyed this read. I’m happy Christina recovered, and I’m happy for her and Amos. Can’t wait to read about Urvi and Duke. Their mother would have never gotten off that easy as a mother you just don’t do things like that to your children, no matter what they become or who’s side they’re on. She wouldn’t have gotten a red cent if I was Duke and Duke Sr. This story was so detailed and intriguing from the very first book. You won’t be disappointed.

This book took me for a ride. Miss J is a phenomenal storyteller who gives you characters who are multidimensional and sexy.

I usually HATE drug-related books, but this one offered a depth that I enjoyed, particularly because Christina’s development was detailed in a way that made you want to root for her. Amos’ nonjudgmental nature made him a rock star.

In all the Duke books, I’m amazed at how the Duke boys literally get away with murder. It’s weird to see them go in and out of the family business so seamlessly and then be lovey-dovey with their women.

Side note: The cover art got me. The characters don’t look like short-haired Christina or fine fine Amos. Is it just me?

yes

First, I want to say that I love how you used characters from Endiya Carter’s books. This book had me on edge because Christina went through some tough stuff. I had a love and hate relationship for her mom because she was such a big hypocrite. Catherine was right when she said that Christina’s parents had something to do with her spiraling out of control. It really started from the actions of her mother. I’m glad that Amos was patient and loving with Christina. It took a lot to still stay when she kept pushing him away. He came through for her each and every time with no questions asked.

Part 2

Man I have soo many emotions with this part 2. It digs deeper into Amos and Chris. We knew they went through some things in their lives but we get to see them work through them. We see Chris actually deal with her past with her parents and he ex and we see Amos be vulnerable and in tune with his feelings. I loved how this series extends on the process of their love. It was never any doubt of that but it was the question of will you stay when I am at my lowest!! This author brings her stories to life and I like that

Good read

Like I loved this book but it wasn't really until the end of the book that Chris actually made me somewhat like her. I'm glad she did take accountability for her actions and actually relieved the love and help she was getting. What can I say Amos is everything and I do mean everything. He was a man about his and was willing to bear every cross for Chris. His love just oozed off the pages. He was a real stand up man. I loved the emotions that I went through because believe me I went through every emotion and some twice reading this book.

Amos and Christina

I felt every emotion that the author took you through in this book. I laughed, I cried. This book was amazing. This book was a roller coaster ride of greatness. Christina was so messed up and barely hanging on and the last person anyone ever expected to save her was Amos. The love that they had for one another was so beautiful. The sex was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 jumping off the pages. I cried and I could feel his hurt when she told him to leave and never come back. But I knew she would eventually know that she couldn't live without him.

Redeeming Love

I loved Amos & Christina’s story. Enemies to lovers filled with humor, steamy sex scenes, and important lessons about remaining resilient. Christina’s recovery and redemption journey to sobriety was one paved with support & love from Amos & Val. I loved that Amos was ready to ride at dawn for Christina over and over and over again. He had so much sex appeal to me too lol. I also loved that both families were able to experience reconciliation & forgiveness… again redeeming love! 5 out 5 I highly recommend!!!

Let me start off by saying…Daymon Danger(iykyk) so glad they featured my mans in this novel. If you didn’t read about them Danger boys(Endiya C.) then what are you reading. Now Miss J. you did that hunny. The entire series was top tier reading. They way Amos loved her in his own way and the way he knew how was life. At some point in the reading I felt the selfishness of Chris but understood her struggle. So glad that Amos found his gangsta long enough to deal with Crime grimy self. Love Miss J penmanship.

Amazing Read

Christina went through so many trials, but Amos refused to back down no matter their situation. He loved her indefinitely and it was beautiful. It was like everyone that came into her life before Amos, except Val was a flaw. He would definitely protect her at all costs, but make sure she's healed in all ways. This was an outstanding read an I hope we get to read about the wedding!

Worth the wait

I absolutely loved it. The author took time to go in depth and develop the characters. It was nice to see the background of Christinas family. Amos grew by leaps and bounds from the first series. The Duke family in general everyone get some type of closure. The love story between Amos and Christina was told from a real, vulnerable, to be expected sensual place. Look forward to the next book or Series from Miss J.

Saved 2

The second book was good; it did not move me as much as the first part of the story. Christina was a mess, and Ace was always in his savahoe mode. The best parts of the story had Duke and Urvi involved. Duke was always so calm, where Ace was more emotional. And Christina needs a hug, or her butt beat most of the story, and if I had to choose, it is the latter. A good read.

I love reading all of these books

Sometimes the author makes happy endings where I don't think that people deserve those happy endings. I love that Christina and Amos finally got it together. I do wish that Duke would have gotten married as they were supposed to. I do think Christina was too soon and accepting her siblings. I do think that is too much too soon and not realistic for recovering addicts. All in all it was a very good read.

Good read overall

This book was good but a bit too long unnecessarily. I honestly don't believe that Christina deserved the type of love that Amos gave... especially before she got clean and stopped acting like a spoiled brat not taking responsibility for her own actions. In the end it still felt like she was extremely needy with a constant need for reassurance. And while so much was on Chris, I felt like not enough was explored regarding Amos.

My bleeding heart

This book drained me emotionally then gut punched me with satisfaction. I have done therapy a few times so I can honestly say it works if you take it seriously and give it your all. I love that Amos took out his beloved’ problems. Christina Deserve her HEA loved that she freed herself emotionally. Although I’m not one to forgive easily so if I was her my parents would be waiting a long time to see me.
