The park is open! Celebrate one of the most thrilling movie sagas of all time with this in-depth look at the making of the Jurassic World trilogy.
Following the release of director Colin Trevorrow’s smash hit Jurassic World in 2015, the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar once again dominate the public imagination.
Jurassic World: The Ultimate Visual History delivers a comprehensive look at the making of the first hit film, as well as its thrilling sequels Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Jurassic World: Dominion. Through rare and never-before-seen imagery and exclusive interviews with key creatives, this deluxe volume explores the entire creative process, from the films’ stunning dinosaur designs to the epic location shoots and the creation of the films’ incredible visual effects. Fans will also discover a fascinating look at the wider world of the saga, including the Netflix animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, video games, toys, theme park attractions, and more.
Unearth the story behind the making of the Jurassic World trilogy with this definitive collector's book, a must-have for fans of the action-packed saga.
An addition to the "Ultimate Visual History" series, this looks at the Jurassic World film trilogy with sections on each of the films. There is also a final section on the Jurassic World Universe which explores the merchandising, theme park rides, and spin-offs such as animated TV series. The book is full of photographs, concept drawings and inserts of various types, including storyboard extracts. There is a lot of detail on the film-making process from concept to post production. Fascinating for anyone interested in these films.
Volume 2 covers the Jurassic World trilogy and supplemental material like Camp Cretaceous. It was on par in quality with Volume 1- tons of great stories, history, art and photos, and interviews. The ephemera is a fun addition. It’s an easy read but giant heavy book, great quality printing. Another must for fans of the franchise.
Just like for the Jurassic Park trilogy, Jurassic World: The Ultimate Visual History is a fascinating deep dive into the filmmaking behind this incredible trilogy and its tie-ins. The passion and art that went into making these movies is beautifully illustrated. Getting to know how some of my favorite movies were made was a delight and the added concept arts or illustrations was a great extra. Sharing the same structure as the Park one, it first explains the process behind the three movies before diving into everything around it (merch, games, spin-offs,...). The explanation are truly in-depth with insight about the casting process, the shootings, the promotional plans, and everything you could with to know about the movies!
What I really like about this book is how it expanded on the original lore, from the very first book that Michael Crichton wrote. I like how they described the idea of the indominus-rex, and all sorts of species of dinosaur to use for these movies.
I think I liked the "Jurassic Park" one better, but this was still really interesting to read. I also liked the inclusion of things like the LEGO Jurassic World franchise and the video games!
