I'd heard of the Mabinogi for years but knew absolutely nothing about it, so I was excited to pick up this translation and finally see what all the fuss is about. It's an easy to understand translation, with a little auxiliary information about the translation and the way that the Mabinogi is laid out that was very helpful. It definitely inspired me to look up more of the history around these stories in the future! As far as the stories themselves, they're predictably repetitive and honestly pretty funny with how casually some things are described. They aren't the sort of classically endearing tales that will stick with you, but they were easy enough to get though. While this won't be a repeat reader for me, I'm glad I read it!
