Betrayals! Backstabs! Characters from traumatic backstories! This volume has it all. Especially some fun references to Dragon Ball. This Four Season arc is so good.

C’était le dernier tome que j’avais en ma possession et qu’il me restait à lire. Ça fait tout de même du bien de se mettre à jour dans les séries déjà entamées. Il y a tant de mangas qui m’attendent dans mes mangathèques mais c’est vrai qu’avoir un million de séries en cours, ce n’est pas vraiment la meilleure des choses. Enfin de mon point de vue bien entendu. J’ai donc enchaîné plusieurs tomes ces derniers temps et là je dois dire que je commence un peu à décrocher de l’histoire. Alors peut être parce que j’ai enchaîné plusieurs tomes, je ne sais pas mais j’espère que ça va repartir d’une meilleure façon plus tard avec les prochains tomes!

Dans ce septième tome, Andy et Fûko sont parvenus à capturer Autumn au terme d’un combat acharné. Après avoir appris cette nouvelle, Juis va à la rencontre de Billy pour tenter de le convaincre de rejoindre sa cause. Mais comme il leur est impossible de t rouver un terrain d’entente, ils n’ont d’autre choix que de s’affronter.Enfin, Shen se retrouve face à Fang qui va lui dévoiler sa véritable identité…

Ce qui fait que je commence à décrocher, c’est surtout le nombre de personnages. J’ai du mal parfois à suivre tant il y en a.. Et puis on passe d’un combat à un autre assez vite et j’ai du mal à me situer à chaque fois. C’est surtout avec ce tome ci que j’ai eu du mal en vérité. Peut être que le tome suivant ça ira mieux mais c’est vrai que celui ci m’a un peu perturbé. J’ai même complètement décroché à un moment donné, j’ai du poser le tome et le reprendre un peu plus tard. Et c’est une chose qui ne m’arrive jamais pour le coup.. Après, je suis toujours fan de ce manga, j’aime beaucoup les différents personnages, le duo Andy/Fûko me plaît énormément et j’adore la dynamique de ce duo. Mais j’ai eu du mal avec ce tome ci finalement. C’est surtout avec le recul que je me rend compte que ce tome ne l’a pas fait avec moi..

J’ai quand même très hâte de me plonger dans la suite et je ne vais, bien évidemment, pas arrêter de suivre cette série. J’espère quand même que je n’aurais pas ce ressenti avec le prochain tome, ça serait tellement dommage. D’autant plus que de base, j’aime vraiment beaucoup cette histoire. Mais ce sont des choses qui arrivent et on ne peut pas toujours tout aimé tout le temps. Il va falloir que je me procure assez vite la suite pour vite y retourner. Mais surtout pour voir si ce tome n’était qu’un accident de parcours ou pas..

The sheer battle of wills that these fights are taking on is truly exhilarating. This is the kind of shonen fare that sets my heart ablaze when reading it. I love that the battles here are full of strategy, pathos, and just freaking cool scenes. This volume entailed two fights of equally heavy weight, the first being Juiz vs. Billy at the base of Winter. This battle was one in which ideals came to a head as Juiz fought to being Billy back and he fought to drive her away. After the way this fight went, it feels like Billy may be more invested in the Union than he appeared after his betrayal. It’s almost like he wanted to make Juiz feel like she has to kill him. Juiz reveals that the artifacts are made by god to kill god and that the ark is only big enough for one person. She also mentions she wants to see Victor smile again. A cool factor in this fight was the way the UMA were used kind of like massive Pokemon.

The second part of the volume is all about Sheng, his past in which he is involved in his sister’s death, and the reappearance of Feng, his old master, who is trying to capture Fuuko. The master used to train people, make them strong, then kill them to turn into jiangshi, which is totally twisted. His skills are truly next level though and all the stops are pulled out to challenge him.

I read the official English translation on an app called “MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA”.
I really liked watching the fight between Juiz and Billy in the beginning of the volume as well as the brief flashbacks of his time with everyone else. I also really enjoyed the fact that this volume mainly focused on Shen since I’ve liked his character from the start. I’m very curious to see how he handles things in the next volume, especially with the reveal of who this new villain is.

Nice to finally learn more about Shen's backstory and it is was pretty cool and I do love the twist of why he is trying to become the strongest and why he joined the Union. Also his connection to Mui is kind of sad. I do love that we are finally getting villains who are not supernatural and are just strong it helps diversify the characters.

Moving into the Summer arc, we get more background on Shen. Our current antagonist is that "G Gundam Master Asia" archetype of ponytailed martial arts master turned bad guy.

De verdad prefieres renunciar a ser el más fuerte y conformarte con una vida aburrida? que te parece si asesino a Unlucky y con ese odio hacia mi, aspira a ser el más fuerte para poder matarme. Entonces, está claro que soy el más fuerte del mundo.
—Idiota. de qué me sirve a mi ser el más fuerte... Solo yo. Mi objetivo es protegerla a ella y todo lo que le gusta. Si tengo la fuerza para llevar eso a cabo, entonces, estoy bien.

Y este pequeño vistazo al pasado de Shen está bueno. Solo se nos dice que pasó, sin mostrar la imagen completa (vaya, por dios), pero sabemos que Shen (Untruth) sufrió bastante por la pérdida de su hermana. El recuerdo lo están guardando para más adelante cuando Feng muestre su habilidad?

Juiz vs. Billy is fun, the little snippets of how Billy's ability works are fun to see retroactively. Then we get FENG! Battle addict Feng! Best in all of creation Feng! Feng is such a fun villain I love him. And more Shen backstory! We've been told Shen's ability is strong, but works only on people he can admire- so throw in someone he actually hates and what does he even do?

Feng and Shen have one of my favorite dynamics in the whole series. The Summer Arc is an all time favorite arc in UU, and even Jump as a whole. I can't wait to see this Arc get animated!
