This prince won't rest until I bend the knee...or break.
Lavish Prep was my fresh start. A new town, a new school—perfect for easing a mind racked by tragedy. Then the invincible, untouchable monster who runs Lavish Prep sets his eyes on me. Handsome, intelligent, gifted Prince Briar should have been this school's most eligible bachelor...but no one is brave enough to find out if the disturbing rumors about him are true. Except me. Ever since I arrived, he's punished and humiliated me. I'm done letting him rip me apart. I'm earning myself a place in history by taking down the Dark Prince of Lavish Prep. All I need to do is expose his disturbing secret to the world. I'm brave enough to stand up to him, but am I strong enough to destroy him before he breaks me?
Brutal Bully is a dark enemies-to-lovers new adult romance. This standalone dark high school bully romance novel is intended for mature readers only as it contains material that some may find triggering.
4.5 stars. I really liked this one. It was sort of a cross between a Bully Romance and Crime/Mystery book. I always love when a romance has a great storyline aside from the romance. This one had a some crimes that were committed by a few different people, one was a complete mystery and the others were more secrets that the individuals kept and other people were trying to get to the bottom of them.
The heroine is named Indi and she goes to live with her Grandmother after her Mother is raped and murdered. Her Father died five years previously of cancer. While out in the woods, a guy about her age chases her and basically assaults her after catching her trespassing on his property. When she goes to school the next day she finds that he attends the same school and he goes by his last name Briar because he doesn’t like his first name, which is Prince.
Indi accuses Briar of assaulting her as soon as she sees him, but soon finds out he is someone not to be messed with at the school. her new friend Addy let’s her know that he may have raped her friend Jess, and possibly murdered her as well, though the official cause of death was suicide.
Briar is staying away from women after what happened with Jess, but he felt an immediate attraction to Indi, so he is determined to bully her until she leaves school. He doesn’t trust himself with her. However he can’t seem to stay away, no matter how much his friend Marcus warns him about her. There are so many different twists and turns in this book, it seems to end up in a complex maze of connections. It is extremely thrilling and I couldn’t put it down. It was my first book from Logan Fox and I will be reading more. There was some definite heat between these two so I will give it 4 flames 🔥🔥🔥🔥 out of five.
Thank fuck this over. This started as a four star read downgraded into two star read because I found 50% of this book to be unnecessary. I really liked the first five chapters but then all hell broke loose.
I had high hopes for his book. The blurb and the cover seems sooo interesting but surprise surprise it was not what I have expected it to be. I mean I was really looking forward to bully romance novel not a fucking mystery/thriller novel (I have nothing against this genre, btw). Don't get me wrong but this book really made me feel like I was cheated and mislead.
The main reason why I didn't like this is because this book is so long buuut it did not explain the things I wanted it to explain. And the twists? Well I guessed all of it. It was too predictable.
WHY DID I FINISH IT? Apparently, I don't like to dnf another book and I wanted to give it a chance, which I did.But it was still a meh kind of book.
”We’re all animals. Some of us just hide it better than others.”
Brutal Prince by Logan Fox was originally part of the Noble Savages anthology. I read in that and HOLY CRAP, it is something else. It’s dark. It’s depraved. There’s a bit of a mystery. A romance that you don’t want to love, but I promise that you will anyway. That said, it’s probably not going to be your cup of tea if you don’t like dark and “bully romance” but if you do, you should definitely check it out. It’s well written and just a great read. The only down side is that it’s over!
Disgusted, is how I feel. Story starts with an almost rape, ends with a definite rape, however the author cushons it by a proposal while getting raped. I can't be the only one sickened by this shit.
I think I started Brutal Prince around like 1opm last night and crushed it all before midnight. Totally forgot to mark it CR or even done on GR.. but I was so into this book. In it, you will meet Indi and Briar. From the very first moment that they meet, there's a little spark. Of course, things twist and turn after that.
So many secrets are floating around them. Mostly Briar.. but hot damn - so much betrayal from close loved ones too. I honestly didn't even think I was going to get so much revealing shit in this book. Yet, I ate it all up. I loved all the torture throughout this and I was most definitely sitting on the edge of my seat until the very last page.
Long story short, I am very happy with how things ended (for certain people). A lot happened in this book and I'm still in shock about some of it. I can't believe certain things went down the way they did. Not going to lie, I'm going to have to dive into another one of Logan's books because hot damn this was one was good.
The emphasis on smoking joints/marijuana every few pages gave me whiplash and took the suspense and romance out of the story.
For one, no, smoking weed is not fun and nor is it healthy, no arguments regarding that. Marijuana causes harm and no one can convince me otherwise.
————-MAJOR SPOILER AHEAD————— (If you plan on reading this book, please don’t read the next part, otherwise it will spoil the suspense) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Second, I did not like the scene where the H (Briar) watches the entire video of when his best friend (Marcus) assaulted his ex-girlfriend (Jess) right next to him while he was passed out from too much drinking and smoking weed. It could have been skimmed over but every detail of that attack didn’t need to be mentioned.
I liked the h (Indi), she was aware of the risks she was taking and knowing what kind of trauma she underwent, I understood her need to find the criminal who raped and killed Jess. However, I didn’t agree with some of her actions, especially her running around alone in areas where she knows she can be assaulted without anyone nearby to cry to for help. Also, her smoking weed every chance she got didn’t sit well with me. But I liked her devotion and her guts even though I didn’t agree with a lot.
Safety=> H is h’s only lover. Triggers— h is inappropriately touched/molested by the bad guy, not raped, she was saved before she could be raped. Rape and murder of other characters are mentioned in gory graphic detail, hence the ⚠️. This book is certainly not for everyone.
Having said that, now I’m off to read a regency or historical romance that is all sweet, I’m in need of some Diana Palmer magic I think.

8% through the book and our "hero" has already chased our Heroine through the woods and almost r*ped her. So this is a no from me dawg. I respect myself too much to see a "romance" happen between a would be r*apest and his almost victim.
When Indigo loses her mother to a brutal rape and murder, she goes to live with her grandmother. Her mother is dead, and she hasn’t seen her grandmother since she was a toddler. Can it get any worse? Of course it can!
While taking a walk near her grandmother’s property, Indigo is stalked by something huge. Like a character in a dark fairy tale, she is pursued by a stranger demanding to know what she’s doing in his woods. But this stranger smells like cedar and mint. Psychos aren’t supposed to smell good, are they? After her recent tragedy and unwelcoming homecoming from her grandmother, this is just too much. So can it get any worse? Well, yeah.
On her first day at Lavish Prep, Indigo recognizes her attacker from the woods and quickly learns he’s Prince Briar III - and completely untouchable. A rapid and convoluted story ensues, and the book just kind of goes downhill from there.
I had some issues with this, hence my rating, but I can’t get into it too far without spoiling it. First, I’m not sure the genre of bully romance was on point. It started that way then kind of fizzled around with that trope. I will also say there was way too much talk of toking, vaping and getting baked with no real plot plot point to it. Sure, some of it may have been relevant, but the number of times absolutely everyone was lit was redundant. There were also a number of typos throughout, and the epilogue just seemed rushed and unrealistic. Nothing too original in this one unfortunately.
TW: This book has contents that can trigger some readers. It deals with abuse, bullying, addiction, assault, and rape.
MAN, THIS BOOK IS DARK. I understand how some readers are annoyed with the story but I like the exposition here. The storytelling is good and I like how the author developed the character arcs. I think there are some loose ends to the story and I just don't like how one of the characters never got the justice they deserve. It has elements of bullying which I absolutely abhor and would not tolerate in real life.
I first read this in noble savages anthology and loved it first from this author for me so when it came out as a standalone I had to re-read it enjoyed it just as much the mystery the angst loved it
Not once any of characters have either logical or sensible reaction. Not once!
To show an example-first meeting of characters, he attacks without reason and sexually assaults her and while panicking, she gets aroused. Then, when later she found out he is a rapist, her reaction is attraction! And he decides to punish her for existing. Zero reason, zero logic, zero sensibility. And it gets only worse from there. If you are looking for bully romance where hero redeems himself and earns forgiveness, where you can see romance and feelings taking over, you will be dissapointed. There is nothing of that. Just one disgusting act after another, even HEA is illogical, disgusting and unbelievable. I don't even know why I finished reading it,I seriously regret my wasted time, should have DNFed it .
Do I recommend it? After my rant, do you really have to ask? Unless you get off on rape, abuse and blood.
Yes, please! I read this as part of the Noble Savages anthology (all bully romance reads). It was my first read from this author, but it won't be my last! I LOVE a good bully romance. I also love romantic suspense, and dark romance (to a degree- I'm not down with heroes causing non-consensual physical pain/abusing their heroine). This delivered! There were suspense elements added in, which separated it from more typical bully reads. In a GOOD way. As much as I love a bully read it is nice to stumble upon one that sets itself apart in some way. Unfortunately I guessed one of the twists relatively early, but only one of them. :) The chemistry between Briar and Indi was hot. I loved the slow burn of the evolution of the physical relationship. Well, really it was a slow burn of the emotional relationship as well. Either way, I'm here for it! Briar had the right combination of arrogance and swagger to make your panties fly from your body of their own volition. Lord, high school me would've been IN LOVE. Hopelessly. Incurably.
There were so many extra elements to this story beyond the base of bullying. The tragedy that befell Indi that prompted her move. The mysterious event that took place at the party (and afterward) involving the Lavish Prep students prior to Indi's arrival. The side details such as Indi's mom's love of painting. Indi's odd relationship with her grandmother. Briar's absent father. These elements came together beautifully, forming a very satisfying and compelling story. I definitely recommend this for fans of bully reads. If you can't find it on its own (Amazon seems to only offer it in paperback) then look for it in the Noble Savages anthology!
I definitely like the cover. That’s the most positive thing I can say about this book. First thing I will say is the trigger warning should be on goodreads. I also think if you write about rape you should tell your readers there is rape. A lot of things trigger people but reading about a rape happening when you’ve been raped, well trigger doesn’t cover it. I know bully romances are the thing now but the only ones I’ve read and liked is when the female gives as good as she gets. But giving your heart to someone who sexually violated you like he did when they first met is some fucked up shit. Why would any female think that was OK. As an author you can literally write about anything you want. Young girls and young women read these books and no way should they get the impression That after being sexually assaulted not only should they forgive the guy but they should also feel comfortable falling in love with them. No, they should find a man that wants to beat that guy up.
This is the most disgusting book I've ever read in my entire life.
Let's talk about Indi, she's been through a lot, and she barely has any problem, I mean... Shouldn't be traumatized or something with all the shit she went through????? (Girl your mother was brutally raped and when a guy tries to rape you...you don't do anything about it? You just think he's handsome???!!) That's not my only problem with this book, but if I have to write all of them I would probably be here for days, wait! Like all the plot timeline! This all happens in a few days WTF. In general, the plot it's really badly done and the characters really unbelievable. The book it's sooo long and really difficult for me to read and understand, It felt like the writing was really bad.
Okay, one I like to state is that dang I feel bad for Addy. She didn’t have to die at the hands of Marcus. He rapped and what it looked like he strangled her or choked her with a belt—poor girl. Bad enough, he killed Jessica too and raped her. Addison's best friend and Briar girlfriend at the time.
What was messed up about Jessica was Briar and everybody, including his dad, thinking that he (Briar) was a rapist? But as I was reading this book. I was like Briar can’t be a rapist, for some reason I kept thinking that. But also mentioned how Marcus = Murder. Briar = rapist. But what I thought in my mind. & what came true in this book was everything lead to Marcus. He was the rapist and murder. It was something that had me like, “I think Marcus was the one who killed Indi's mom and raped/murder Jessica. Especially with Indi's mom... when they couldn’t find any fingerprints, I was like YEAH that had to be Marcus...
I now remember what had me thinking it was him when he mentioned to Briar. That Indi looked familiar. A lot of things, Briar never took notice. But his dad took note of a lot of stuff that Briar didn’t. Heck, not even Indi or Addy, knew that something was up with Marcus. I felt something was wrong with Marcus.
It took for Briar's dad to talk to him at Angels Fall, where I think 🤔 Jessica was killed at or something can’t remember. But his dad was the one to show Briar that looks son; your best friend is the devil and a bad seed. Then learning about him killing/ no learning that Marcus was the one that rapped Jessica then plan to do the same to Indi. I know it had hurt him and then had to be there with Indi and find a way to get Marcus from Indi. No Indi from Marcus. & getting rid of that gun. I was glad in the end that they ended Marcus and his (Marcus) dad Brandon got what he deserved too for all that he and his son put everybody through. Not only that, learning that Brandon had something to do with Natalie (both; Briar & Marcus) mom. Oh, that also a bad one, Briar, learning that Marcus was his brother. I had to wonder who is the oldest were they, twins. I can’t remember their ages. But I think they were in the same grade or one was behind each other since they all were in a class with one another.
But in the end, every TRUTH came out, which was a good thing. Especially with what happened with Jessica, Indi (mom), not only them but Addy too. Poor, girl I wish she would’ve left with her family. But she wanted to stay like a fool that she was smh!
Besides that, I didn’t want Marcus to die. I wanted him to rot and see what will happen to him in jail for what he did to those women/teens... but at least Briar got his wish. He murder (well Indie) killed Marcus, and the police didn’t have to get him (Marcus). Because both he and Indie did. I was glad because that boy was sick.
Briar And Indi's Riveting Story Is A Fantastic Dark Read About Bullying And Tragedy In A Warped World Filled With Secrets And Crime.
*This book is not recommended for anyone that requires trigger warnings.*
More than just a high school bully story, Brutal Prince takes place in a dark and very twisted world similar to other books and series by the author. Lavish is nestled against the sinister peaks of Devil's Spine, near its sister town of Mallhaven. The picturesque town suffered from a stint of violent robberies last year, leaving the wealthy residents scrambling for security cameras.
Indigo Virgo believes that love is for masochists. She used to do things like brush her hair, wear makeup, and dress nicely. She was a few months shy of her eighteenth birthday when her life was irrevocably altered. Having lost her mother to a violent home invasion, Indi is sent to Lavish in Fool's Gold County to live with a grandmother she doesn't know. Marigold is cold and rigid - and clearly not happy about her new charge. Alone and shifting from depression to anger and back again as she deals with her new reality, Indi clings to the one thing she has left of her mother - a valuable sapphire necklace given to her mother by her dad, just prior to his death from cancer five years ago.
Prince Briar - arrogant, agressive, passionate, and impulsive - is Lavish Prep's best receiver. He pushes himself to excel in order to get his name in the paper and capture the attention of his mostly absent father. His mom died in an accident when he was five, so he practically lives alone in the sprawling Briar mansion. He and his best friend Marcus have one a other's backs, though. After his birthday party ten months ago, they agreed that one of them would always stay sober at parties, but for the most part Briar just avoids them - and girls - since everything that happened with Jessica.
His life is on the line now and the rumors are pure torture. It is impossible for him to forget that he is a monster, so he no longer hides the animal inside. The whole town knows to be wary of him, so when he spots a trespasser on his property while out for his nightly jog, it hardly computes how someone would be stupid enough to venture onto his property. Because protects what is his.
After a less than welcoming greeting from her grandmother, Indi takes a walk to clear her head but soon finds she has lost her trail. She had no idea that there was a monster in the woods. When she sees the monster at school the next morning, everything goes from bad to worse.
Briar and Indi's tragic and twisted story pulls the reader into a cruel world, riveted with suspense, yet offers a bit of redemption and a very satisfying HEA. Indi's myriad of emotions following her mother's death leave her emotionally unstable, yet she maintains the strength to keep going on in spite of her grandmother's rejection and the bullying she endures. She channels her frustration into a quest for justice, but that isn't easily accomplished as the new girl in town. Briar struggles emotionally as well. He has suffered from loneliness for most of his life. More recently, he struggles to understand how he turned into an animal, and how to rein it in. Indi challenges his self-control and is therefore a threat, despite what he realizes he feels for her. Both Indi and Briar work through their struggles over the course of a suspenseful week while truths and revelations lead to them to a shocking conclusion.
Briar and Indi's riveting story is a fantastic dark read about bullying and tragedy in a warped world filled with secrets and crime. The POV alternates between Briar and Indi. The book is very well-written. The plot is complex, intricately woven to maintain keen interest. The characters are very well-defined, including the cast of supporting characters. I rate this book five stars.
I received a free advance copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I LOVED LOVED this book with everything in me. I can’t wait to dive to the rest of the series.
I just had one question who tf is Chantelle? Did HE (you know who) have a name for Indi’s mom? Her name was Summer.
The one missing star ⭐️ is because I wish there was more flashbacks. And for Addy.
Marcus Baker, man where do I begin? I’m not defending him AT ALL. But what if he had a better life? Grew up in a better house with a loving parents? Or what if he didn’t have Brandon Baker in his life? How would he turn out to be? He had dreams he was just a boy but man really families fuck ups can really DAMAGE a person. He was fucked and there was no fixing him.
Oh Prince Briar, I was supposed to be angry at him for bullying Indi. But no. He’s the only character that actually has the biggest heart. He had a beautiful soul behind those harsh words. I loved/hated his relationship with his dad but there was a respect between them and that’s all that mattered. Edward Briar could be hurting too after Natalie’s death. I loved Edward (Prince Briar’s dad) he was respectful yes he was always out of town but he treated his son with love and respect. Barely answered his phone but he would drop everything he’s doing for his son. It’s admirable.
Indigo Virgo, poor thing I reached to the point where I just cried for her. Losing her dad, mom. Moving to live with Grandma who WAS by the fucking way a total b*** till she opened up to Indi.
Addison Green, I won’t say much about her because I want everyone to be as shocked as I am but she deserved better.

I loved Briar’s dark side! He has a past that clouds his judgement on everything. But oh his obsession with Indi was something else. Indi tries so hard to not fall for Briar. The tragedy in her past had my heart hurting for her. But the small glimpses Briar shows Indi you can feel that chemistry, that possessiveness.
Kept me wondering who it was til near the end with a few extras surprises thrown in!
Totally engrossing - must read for dark romance lovers
The story starts with heroine coming to live with her grandmother, who is strict and unemotional...... heroine,Indigo called Indi lost her father to cancer years ago and recently lost her mother....her mother was raped and murdered at home....and Indi is still dealing with all these things. She meets hero Briar at the woods near her house on the first day itself....they get on wrong foot and next day when she comes to her new school, she learns that he is the Prince....the most popular guy......but this most popular guy is not so popular now, why??
This is a bully romance/suspence thriller too.....so many secrets. One thing I didn't like is
I absolutely loved this book and the all the characters. I found this read to be incredibly dark, complex and delicious. I found myself running through all the emotions and the angst while reading this and not knowing who to believe and who to trust just created for a more enjoyable read.
I needed a stand-alone bully romance and this delivered. I enjoyed it and enjoyed the mystery and trying to figure out what really happened. I’ll admit near the beginning some things started to become obvious on what happened but none the less I still enjoyed it and kept me turning the pages and reading.
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!! I don't know what I expected but that was not it. This book. This MFing book. It's dark. It's twisted. It's so good. There is a trigger warning so be prepared. This book will not be for everyone but if you love a dark, twisted bully read, then this book is for you.
