No man would ever own me again.

A simple promise I’d made to myself after escaping a brutal childhood of abuse and being trained to enact violence on unblessed witches. Since that moment, I had managed to survive on the streets by successfully pickpocketing.

Unfortunately, after years of hiding, the monster who starred in all of my nightmares was closer than ever and I was faced with only one option - seeking refuge at the Dark Imaginarium Academy.

Filled with the elite witches of our society, I should have expected to run into some of my previous targets and that normally wouldn’t have been a problem. It wasn’t like they’d known I’d stolen from them.

Except for my last hit.

What I stole from him was something I would never forget because it was literally embedded in my chest. Yeah, he was a bit upset about that one... as in acting absolutely psychotic. Except he's not the only one...

A blood witch who has an addiction to my taste.

A lunar witch who takes pleasure in trying to scare me into submission.

An unblessed that wants to dissect me, literally.

A shadow witch that relishes in marking up my body to show ownership.

These men want to claim me, own me, and the treasure that I now possess, but I would never break the promise I made to myself.

But when my past follows me right into the place I considered a safe haven, I find that these psychos may be the exact key to getting rid of my problem forever. The only problem? These men are convinced that I've never experienced the type of horror that would be required for that to happen, that they have to protect me from it. What they don’t realize?

Killing left a stain on the soul and mine was pitch black.

Lunar Witch features characters that are all 18+. This is not a high school academy book and the contents are intended for mature audiences. This book includes violence, mature content, PTSD, flashbacks of abuse, and sex. There is no bullying from the harem, just psychotic men trying to claim their girl.

Lunar Witch is book one of three in the Phases of the Moon series, which is set within the shared universe of Dark Imaginarium Academy. All series can be read independently, but characters have crossovers and it is highly encouraged to read all within the universe to understand the world in its entirety.

Good writing, bad character developments

The first couple of chapters started off suuuper well. An interesting backstory, seemingly strong main character, good writing, and hot love interest.

But after Deva (the mc) gets to the academy, the book starts going downhill. She slowly starts to lose her personality, and I hate that for her :(

We don’t see the strong girl who is a skilled thief, super powerful, and has a strong will. We only see a girl that lets men she just met tell her when to eat, who to talk to, where to stay, etc.

For that reason, I don’t like the guys. The minute they meet Deva they gave her absolutely no time to adjust. They force interactions, and she lets them steamroll her into everything.

The only decent ones that I like are Alek and Cage. They aren’t saints, but they seem to be the most understanding of Deva needing space to process.

Overall, even tho it’s not my cup of tea, it is well written. So it’s potentially worth a try if you can get past the guys.

I absolutely devoured this book and I’m now going to read the second one😙🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️💨💨

Safety info:
- No real OMD
- No OWD
- Virgin MMCs
- Virgin heroine
- Insta-lust and love
- Possessive and obsessed MMCs
- No cheating

Overall, this is a safe read for me.

It ends on a cliffhanger, but the series is now completed.

DNF-Please stop glorifying abuse!

I probably should've known better; I guess I didn't see the blurb about this being a harem, which are always bad for a number of reasons. Even still, I could've stomached that if all five of the guys weren't so horrifically abusive. They aren't protective; they're possessive. Worse, they clearly have zero concept of boundaries or consent. At least through the first third of the book (where I tapped out), at least of two of the guys sexually assault her in front of others (who actually think it's cool?), completely ignore her saying, "no," claim she's their property, and then tell her, quite literally, her boundaries and consent are irrelevant. WTF?!? That isn't sexy; that's horrifying and a literal crime. Even the MC has a hard time explaining why she keeps passively letting them walk all over her.

Making a bad story so much worse, there is no plot whatsoever. No conflict, no goals, nada. The MC wants to maintain her current status quo, which by definition isn't a plot while the harem males have no goals or agenda beyond raping and controlling the MC (it's rape). They don't even seem to be competing between each other for. The author's attempt at a MacGuffin in the moonstone is sidelined by the males forcefully getting inside the MC's pants. Not only is the question what they want the moonstone for not really discussed, it's a legitimate question as to if they really want it at all. What's a real shame is that the MC's backstory would be a fascinating plot but that's relegated to flashback and background.

None of the characters have a real personality besides being "hot" and the MC's trauma doesn't really seem to matter. If anything, it makes her passivity and enjoyment of being assaulted even more horrifying. Add in repetitive writing, occasional misspellings, and lack of a real antagonist, and you've got the steaming pile of misogynistic garbage that this is. I'd give it negative stars if I could.

Whew! This was a hot read. Typically, I do not care for RH with more than 3 MCs. When I read a book with so many I feel as if I never really get to know all the main characters. To say I was stunned to feel I know and understand each individual in this RH is an understatement! Sinclair blew me away.

Deva is beyond interesting....and Sinclair is just getting started with her. There is so much left to be uncovered about her past. I am dying to know more.

Her harem is filled with every type of dangerous MCs you could imagine. We have a physcho path, Cage (Who by a smidge is my favorite). A complete stalker, Grim. One with series serial killer vibes, Oz. Completely damaged in the same way as Deva, Alek. Last but not least, one who gets off on fear, Lazaro.

Fresh storyline! Tons of action! Sexual tension through the roof! Need book 2 now!!!

Happy reading,
DD 🥂

Review for first three books
Rating: 3.9-4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 2.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: RH, witches, female assassin, obsessive MMC, abused FMC, academy

This is a re-read. I can always count on this author to put forth a solid paranormal reverse harem. She follows a pattern: powerful FMC that has a rough childhood and OBSESSIVE men. The men in this harem live for the FMC like all of this authors books and I love that. This was less spicer than her other books, it builds up, but still good. Even though this is an academy book, the main characters are not too naive or childish, which is something most authors struggle with.

The only negative is there’s a LOT of internal dialogue in these books, which becomes tedious and boring.

This was just simply bad. Show more, tell less.

It started with a huge info dump, with about a fifth of the book consisting of one girl's inner monologue. Extremely exhausting to read.

Then everyone basically falls in insta-love. And all the men keep pressing their "hard lengths" against the girl, grabbing her jaw/chin, pinning her against surfaces, and over-protecting a supposedly super-powerful witch.

And wasn't she supposed to have a dramatic past, but she's totally fine with having five men push her around?

Plus, we keep getting robbed from getting to know the characters slowly - everything and everyone just gets explained away with the inner monologue crap. Everyone already seems to know everyone. There's zero build-up to anything. No one gradually learns anything at this academy - they're all skilled and perfect already.

And all the usual clichés were present, too:
- a girl with a cool hair color
- men with big dicks and muscles
- that one unhinged guy, lovable yet weird
- that one guy who sort of hates the girl, but doesn't really
- tattoos, because they're a personality trait
- obsessive men, in the style: "you're ours, grrr"
- a special power that only the leading lady has
- mean girl(s)
- the line "come for me"
- stupid nicknames (everyone has one for the girl)
- pointless friends whose names you won't remember because they don't matter

Oh and, the word "jaw" is in this book about 30 times. Cool.

This one wasn't for me.

Started off downright riveting but at 30% the whole special atmosphere was gone. Perhaps it’s just me, but this reverse harem thread took away the plot’s meaning. At first Deva seemed like a character I could easily resonate with due to her powerful demeanor and quaintness. I truly wanted to enjoy this story but unfortunately Deva’s behaviour with the boys was frustrating and annoying, it’s like she lost all of her unique features along with her independence.
The universe building appeared intriguing yet the author managed to ruin it.

The moment I read the blurb for this book I was sold. I have a thing for psycho guys in Reverse Harem novels. I'm not entirely sure why, because in real life I do very badly with possessive people and being kept away from my hobbies and friends. I think it's like in that saying that only a bad guy can truly love you unconditionally, because he's the only one who can ALWAYS put your first. However, when I got offered this arc there was no way I was gonna say no.

I have to admit that I personally didn't think the guys were THAT psycho. There might be something seriously wrong in my brain (wouldn't surprise me), but they were actually quite okay. Yes, they were possessive and overbearing and at times I was really wondering if our heroine was even allowed a little bit of her own life, but hey, when the heart finds its mate, there's no way to be separated, right? I think these guys were in their own unique way quite likable.

I think it does help that Sinclair is doing an amazing job with describing all the emotions rushing through these characters. None of them had an easy life. I think we can even say that this universe is quite messed up to begin with. There is a lot of hurt and pain and fear and I felt everything. Sinclair's writing style made me feel part of the story, made me become one with the characters and therefore I rooted for these characters and most of all really cared about them.

The closer I got to the ending, the more I prayed that nothing really bad would happen to these characters. I started to feel protective over them. I wanted them to just solve their problems, kill a few people and get that happily ever after. Of course, that was never in the cards and I'm now almost literally dying to find out what happens after the cliffhanger. The sequel to this story can't come soon enough. And my little murderers better be okay soon too!

Holyyyy mother of WITCHES!

I can’t even begin to explain how spectacular book one of this series turned out!

DEVA, DEVA, DEVA…. I love all of M. Sinclair’s leading ladies, but Deva quickly shot to the top! CRAZY right?! Our beloved author continues to give us the most amazing female characters ever🖤 My heart breaks for all of the trauma Deva has gone through thus far and I suspect her suffering isn’t quite over. She is so strong and resilient, but I absolutely love that she melts into a puddle around her men🤤

This was a semi slowish-almost medium burn. BUT don’t let that fool you because the intensity and heat between Deva and her men is electrifying! I can only imagine the sexy times hitting an ultimate fever pitch in book two🔥
The pace and world building was amazing. I pictured every little detail! Down to the classrooms, dorms, campus grounds and so many other elements described.

I loved the sisterhood type of relationship Deva had with her bff’s Odessa, Briar, & Lavinia🥰

Alek, Oz, Grim, Lazaro, & Cage were 1000% Alpha, possessive, & deliciously dark for their Deva😍 At first I though I would be bothered by the men only having one chapter each- I wasn’t after finishing this book. I absolutely loved getting to delve deeper into Deva! And those chapters belonging to the guys were well written and not short at all!

I’m keyed up for book two!!!

Anddddd we got a little glimpse and taste of Alexandra(Monsters Within) and
Bexley(Blitz)💕

Ok first book

Enjoyable first book. I loved the characters here! And I'm obsessed with Psychotic man. Our H is a mix between strong and vulnerable which I totally love it and it works for her. Storyline is somewhat put together, and missing just the right amount for future explanation more in depth. My only issue is the amount of layers we haven't even began to scratch at. We barely have the wood work up for the main plot, and yet we dealt with a lot of our H inner monologue into her debate with her men, and missed so much opportunity to know more about her men. I was dying to know more about them? Why they are the way the are? The mission? If they had horrible backstory like our H. I wanted to know and understand this cult our H was in. We missed a lot of information with the amount of layers this book had. The Familiars? I just felt they didn't belong since we barely hear about them or meet them all but once? Her friendships although blossomed in the first few pages, and was super cute! It ends up taking a huge nose dive after that. I really liked getting to know them ;(. Yet the push and pull within our H mind was maybe a bit over done. Don't get me wrong, I love a bit here and there. But not to the point it takes from the actual read. I will definitely read on. I'm hoping for a lot in that next book.

Deva was a broken, abused witch who has been through hell and back. When she was accepted into an Academy for elite witches, She was looking for a fresh start and new view on life. Life tends to throw curveballs and things never go as planned. This is a spin off of the Monarchs of Hell series, and the first book in a brand new shared world.

So, I was super excited when M Sinclair and R. L Caulder announced that they were going to start a new shared world together. This was such a fantastic story! Deva was such a strong character. As a survivor, she can take whatever life throws at her. I truly admire that in a character. The writing is phenomenal. After this, I'm definitely hyped for this series!

The usual Sinclair template of:
- FMC that's been through *some shit*
- All-in, protective, devoted, and often psychotic Hs
- Lots of inner monologue and repetitive ruminations of feelings towards the Hs that take up majority of pages
- Some major mystery of self or major threat

It's the same academy as The Storm Dragons' Mate series, which I enjoyed the start of, a little more than this one.

I enjoyed this, but just wish the amount of repetitive ruminations would be toned down. I'll probably continue this at some point as I do like the characters.

I really enjoyed this book, i looove the possessive psycho ass men. Sinclair is the best at writing them. Deva my girl, she is the fmc i like how she is holding in how badass she is. Cuz when the time comes she will show off how to kick and kill some ass like a boss!
Aleksander (Alek), Micajah(Cage), Osborn(Oz), Lazaro and Grimshaw is the possessive psycho ass men in this series, i am so ready to see them in action like all of their abilities. The blood thirst to show up
omg that ending leaves us in a cliffhanger which is not nice, i am in need of the next book

Lunar Witch, the first book in the Phases of the Moon series by M Sinclair, was absolutely riveting!!! Sinclair has done it once again and totally outdone herself with a captivating story, strong storyline and absolutely enthralling characters! Set in the same universe as the other amazing series centered around the Dark Imaginarium Academy, this story will take you on an unforgettable ride in a magical world full of witches, vampires, shifters, fae, demi-gods and demons! If you’re a fan of all things paranormal with a side of medium burn spice and heat, where the heroine doesn’t have to choose…then read on!

Deva, our fierce FMC on the run from her traumatic past and the evil that lurks in the shadows waiting to find her, finds herself seeking refuge at an elite academy of witches known as the Dark Imaginarium Academy. Having lived a life of abuse and torment, all she wants is to try to hide and blend in, yet things don’t go as expected and she quickly catches the attention of five of the most notorious psychotic witches in the place. And they hers when she realizes that her heart beats only for them…

What do these hot, dangerously psychotic and utterly possessive witches and an unblessed all have in common? They all want to claim Deva as their own and will go to any length necessary to make that happen—biting, marking, pining and claiming her any way possible. With insta love/insta attraction that’s off the charts, and a magical connection that’s unexplainable occurring between them all you just know it’s going to be a fabulous read!

I absolutely love Deva and the deliciously dark and oh so psychotic men that are so utterly ruthless they’ll do anything to claim her. Oz, Grimshaw, Cage, Lazaro and Alek are absolutely drool worthy with how possessive and domineering they are, and are the perfect blend of all delicious ingredients needed.

“This woman was going to destroy me, and I was going to willingly rip out my heart for her.”

Overall if you’re a fan of psychotic alpha men, who in all their possessive glory will do anything to claim their woman, then this one’s for you! I can't wait to for the next book in this series! And that cliffhanger ending? Perfection!

M. Sinclair is constantly leaving me in a state of speechlessness. Reading one of her books is equivalent to eating a decadent dessert. Her books are rich, sweet, and overall just delish.

Lunar witch is the first book in a trilogy of what will be a shared universe. Some books/series will be written by M. Sinclair and others by R L Caulder. Sinclair has set the bar for this universe and started it out perfectly. The imagery she created between the school, classrooms, and characters was absolute perfection.

This book is featured around our MFC Deva , who is probably a darker female character for M. Sinclair, and she is utter perfection. This girl has been through more than one can imagine and has scars covering her on the inside and outside. She is strong, brave, maybe a tad psycho, and ultimately just imperfect perfection. She radiates life and power and when you read about her , you’re gonna understand how that’s a tad ironic considering her situation.

Deva attends the academy to try and escape her past where she meets our delish psycho males - Lazaro, OZ, Cage, Alek, and Grimshaw. These men are top of the top crazy - and you know we love Sinclair for her psychos. She has amped it up though with these guys and I’m here for it. This is probably my favorite harem yet. These guys are obsessive, protective, powerful, and crazy..like sociopathic. The moment they meet our girl the obsessions begin and with that obsession comes some great spicy moments.

I can’t wait to see where this trilogy goes and the rest planned for this world. If this is our intro I can only imagine how much better it’s going to get with our talented writers.

If you liked Nova and her guys , you are gonna drool over this harem..and honestly, they may be crazier.

Step into the world of Deva and her men, you’re gonna get magic, mystery, spicy romance, and super cute familiars. I can’t wait to see what happens next for Deva and her men. Congrats Sinclair to another amazing book, you’re a rockstar!

**I did receive an ARC copy of this book and this is my honest review.**

Awesome start!

A great RH with multiple POV the way M. Sinclair is so good at!

It helds in the Dark Imaginarium Academy (DIA) like two other series from this author but no need to read them before.

Deva is a lunar witch who's fleeing a dark and traumatic past. She joined DIA in order to take a new start and to stay safe from her torturer. But it was without counting on five total psycho hot guys who decided that Deva is everything for them. Deva is torned apart her attraction to the guys and her dark past, full of secrets, pain, and torments. But if Deva has secrets, the guys as well have theirs and it would appear that they have more in common than desire...

I enjoyed a lot this book and want more!!! The only criticism I can do is that it felts like a long introduction because thinking about it not much happened in this book in my opinion. I guess the next one will contain more action and that some of the guys secrets would be reveald!

Can't wait for the next book!

Blimey i cant tell you how much of a killer (quite literally!!) read this book is!!!

Deva is a complex mix of a character. She has an undercurrent of vulnerability especially withe everything shes been through in her past but on the other hand because of that past its given her a lot of grit and strength too. Which she needs when she enrols at The Dark Imaginarium Academy looking for a fresh start. Only for 5 guys - Grim, Oz, Alek, Lazaro and Cage to suddenly plant themselves into her complicated life. Each bringing their own brand of dark protectiveness but also a type of caring that is unique to them especially with how they're perceived but others as psychos.

I liked their dark humour which i couldnt help but laugh at in places. It was a brilliant start and im looking forward to getting my hands on the rest of the books in this series now

M. Sinclair does it again

I always get worried that the next book will be the one to disappoint me as my expectations keep on getting higher and higher but nope. M. Sinclair delivers one more time.

I really enjoy the plot here and the guys have such different personality. There’s so much to uncover and the bad guy is so bad I can’t wait for a confrontation.

I’m loving this start to a new series and the glimpses of the others characters who’ll be getting books in this universe.

As always the writing is keeping me engaged and interested and I’m cheering for the characters. What else do I need ? The next book of course (I’m really bad with waiting after a cliffhanger but no pressure).

This book is super dark and gritty. It is not for the faint of heart. I love how dark it is but in a necessary way. The main character goes through a lot of trauma and the way she deals with it is handled really appropriately. However she's also really mature. I love the whole phase of the moon theme. The paranormal elements don't get annoying and what I love is that in nicely integrate into the story. Which is in this book are extremely unique. I love their powers and how they derive from different elements instead of some weird curses. The author is created a very rich world I highly recommend this book.

After being abused and tormented for most of her life, Deva is looking for a fresh start and a way to be “normal.” As she fights to overcome her past, she quickly becomes the obsession of 5 psychotic men. All the while, trying to stay one step ahead of her tormentor.

Deva is a beautifully broken soul with an inner strength and determination to fight for her freedom. Her men are definitely the 3Ps: psychotic, possessive, and protective. I’m so interested in their back stories.

I’m loving this new story and all the characters within. A fantastic start to a new series. M. Sinclair never fails to capture my interest.

Honestly feel bad for all the other students because they musta been hella uncomfortable and disgusted with all the PDA. I would've also been very annoyed with how much they disrupt class for overly dramatic moments. Also, she (don't even remember her name, only her nicknames to be honest) really ditched her friends after the first day and didn't think about them like at all. While the story had a general direction, this almost felt like more of a prequel because nothing really happened other than them 'getting to know each other' until the end. Honestly, this story had great potential, and I really liked the story and characters before we formally met Grim at the school.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the storyline, characters, or concept. I just don’t think this writing style is for me right now. The writing style has a stream of consciousness aspect to it and there are some odd turns of phrase which I am finding hard to grasp at the moment.

I may come back to this later, but for now, I need to put it down.

REVIEW FOR ENTIRE SERIES (Phases of the Moon) 🌖🌕🌔🌛🌜🌝🌗🌓🌚🌙🌒🌑

•Overall rating: 4/5. Ok so I shall start with a disclaimer, this was the third series I read for the DIA chronicles and did so immediately after The Creatures we Crave series.

THE 4TH BOOK COMES OUT IN 7 MONTHS... I am so upset as the 3rd ended on a cliff hanger... so clearly I like this series haha

The last 2 series are written by M.Sinclair but continues on with Caulders other DIA novels; The worlds within this series are derivative but in a good way - I wasnt craving a new author's spin on the classical monsters ie: vampires, witches, wolves and ghouls, I mean, if it aint broke ya know? That being said RL did a great job at being traditional with these witches but adding her own tid bits in there too.

The series was easy to read, was quick about world building but detailed enough that I could see everywhere and also scattered Easter eggs & references to her other books in here that kept me wondering (pre-emptively getting me hooked on all the series... well played Sinclair). The idea is that there's different realms for different monsters and what ties them all together for the sake of this plot is an academy that students (21+ so we keep is saucy not icky) can attend to hone their skills... yet they seem to bone more than hone in my opinion *gasps and clutches pearls* 😲

This series, covered the Witch sector and follows Deva/Ayla (ps loved that name since Clan of the Cave Bear) and her FIVE mates (my ranking):

1. Grimshaw/Grim: Shadow Daddy witch
2. Osborn/Oz: Serial Killer unblessed or nature witch
3. Lazaro/Laz: Stoic and Dom Daddy Lunar witch
4. Micajah/Cage: Nutcase and Freak-a-leek Blood witch
5. Aleksander/Alek: Swoll, russian gangster thug mutant mutant witch

• Favourite character: Loved her friends in this series however they quickly became not important once they all got mated up... which I didn't care for. In the other 2 DOA stories the girls stayed closer to their friends but I guess Deva had more mates to manage haha. Deva was also this kick ass assassin who was confident in her abilities however still had some trauma to overcome plus body issues - RELATABLE MUCH? I think she did a great job at managing her many mates as well as pushing for answers and vengeance - total bad ass... no wonder she got 5 witch zaddys! 🥵

OMG THE FAMILIARS/ANIMAL COMPANIONS WERE TOO CUTE. They matched the personalities so well and when they all had cuddle puddles together 🥺 I love spiders so having one in the mix really hit for me 🕷

This series dove into the character development more so with the mates which I really enjoyed and added a layer of complexity to the bond. That being said the book kept telling us how terrifying and powerful these males were and yet... ain't no murdering or major spells - just bravado and reputation. Like is it too much to ask for a cheeky follow through on "touch her and you will be slaughtered"...??? DO I ASK TOO MUCH? 🤔

• Hated character: Emily played the perfect villan and her distain for Deva wasn't giving woman banding together... ick. That was a basic answer but there you have it, no one else really sparked intense reactions and I think that's due to having 6 main characters - tough work to juggle multiple POV and the story line. CAN I JUST SAY that one thing I did hate was the sleep to sex ratios? I don't mean to come across thirsty but like 1-2 (IF that) steamy moments from a lady with 5 hot mates? CAP CAP CAP! 🧢🧢🧢 Plus every dam chapter she's having a nap, I don't know if it is a writing tool to help manage the passing of time and/or to emphasize her power resources but dayum - Deva was tucked up for naps more than a dam cat hehehe witch pun.

• Smut vs Plot: 60/40 leaning more towards plot but I was here for it. The first book wasn't so much smut or plot but rather romance so if you are keen on possessive MMC thirsting over a FMC and giving "mine" public displays of affection - you'll be stoked with book 1. Book 2 and 3 dives more into the smut which I enjoyed - the writing was very intense in the best way.

• Spice rating (1-5): 🌶🌶 🌶.5

• Reminds me of: hmmmmm it was giving dark HP if you ask me. Liked spells and magic rulings as well as the different witch types too.

• Re-read: 💯 and will do so in October before the final book is out! YES I PREORDERED!

• Trope: Reverse Harem & Mated bonds. All males total obsessed and express it differently, hitting all tropes in the right way! 😜

• Pet names:
Deva: Ayla/My obsession/little Siren/little jaguar 🐆/Zaya (bunny)🐇, little thief and starlight ⭐

• Smut energy: OK the series isn't over but again, the smut ... I expected smuttier given SHE HAS 5 MATES! There was 1 threesome and like sorry but barely! Also the inner poly me hates that she hasn't slept with all 5 yet... in fact she's only penny p with 3... poor Cage and Alek 😔

Note: all virgins at the start which yall know I don't care for 🙄 also some blood play due to a few blood witches in the mix

• Favourite dynamic: I did love that Laz and her did an enemies to lovers thing because he was such a dick to her at the start - pushing her away. Also loved her and Ozs backstory and how she fell for him first and they took each others V plates... plus who doesn't love a serial killer who has an exception... her hehehehhe 🖤🔪 👸

• Favourite quotes/Bants:

NOTE: She kept mentioning knees breaking in like a good way... but it didnt read well and I didnt enjoybthe expression and worse because she used it often in this series.

"How many times had he killed me?"

"I was broken on the inside, marred by scares both visible and hidden"

"Dead Doll"

"I felt the clinical veil of my thoughts slip back over refusing to delve into those memories right now"

“Don’t think about it, little jaguar.”

"To start fresh. To alter my future. To embrace the strength I knew I’d always had."

“You are the one who always says that queso dip and chips are not worthy of being a meal, something that the humans clearly disagree with,”

" “Quiet, Deva.” Now, I really didn’t have many pet peeves, but no matter how attracted to this man I was, there were a few things I didn’t like. Number one: being ordered around."

"The surge of lust that slammed into me was completely unacceptable"

“You dated?” Alek produced a low noise, but his gaze was on Dylan. “You dared to take her on a date?”

" “You like pinning me a lot.” I swallowed, feeling my cheeks flush. “There is a lot I’d like to do to you, but I very much want to pin you down. I have a feeling if I don’t, zaya, you will run from me. Maybe not now, but eventually.” "

"He flashed me a gorgeous smile. “That’s true. But I would be a fool to believe that I wouldn’t have to work to keep a woman like you.” "

“I see it now. Briar, come check out this sexual tension! You could cut it with an athame.”

"Crap, he was even better looking in person than my dreams."

"My throat grew thick and lust rolled through my system as his hand came off the wall to grip my jaw, my head falling back fully as I fought the urge to snap his wrist."

"I felt completely surrounded by a smoky haziness of possible pleasure. I knew he had the possibility to give it to me. It would have been so easy to give into it."

"I managed to contain myself, knowing that would be weird. Although, he was literally pinning me against the wall of my new school in front of a large crowd, so I wasn’t exactly the weirdo here."

" “New student. Let her go.” Ingram was attempting to be firm, his voice hard, but it only caused Grimshaw to smile, the cocky expression somewhat attractive."

"His possessive touch calmed a part of me I didn’t want to examine, and I had to fight down the urge to lean into him more."

"His eyes turned relaxed and almost indifferent, which didn’t match the hold he had on my waist. “Beautiful name.” “I know,” I answered, feeling a surge of mirth at the excitement that seemed to flash across his gaze. Yeah, I shouldn’t encourage this guy."

"He immediately looked over my pale skin, and more importantly, the scars that covered my body. I was wearing a simple tank top, and his eyes bled completely black as he eyed the injuries."

"His kiss was deep and intrusive."

“Don’t,” he warned, his gaze snapping up to mine. “Don’t try to leave, Deva. Not right now. I don’t know what’s going on here, but if you leave, I will hunt you back down.”

"Maybe she was just that—a figment of my own insanity. In which case, I never wanted my delusion to end."

"It made me feel like a fucking king, and I had to control my smile so that she didn’t see it—that would no doubt get me back to square one with my little jaguar."

"Seriously, I think I was falling in love with this woman. I had been obsessed before through the dream connection, but in person, witnessing her fully? It was an experience."

"Deva had snapped something in me, and I think it was going to remain broken forever, because if it meant having her in my life, I didn’t want to fix it."

"She was a perfect mixture of darkness and vibrancy. She was perfect."

“You left a mark on her,” Lazaro pointed out suddenly. “I did,” I murmured. “Should have left a bigger one,” Lazaro muttered under his breath, and I grinned.

"I was going to take a ton of enjoyment out of this."

"knowing I needed to pull back my magic or else she probably wouldn’t let me kiss her again, and this pest wasn’t worth that type of sacrifice."

"She may have been pissed at me, but she sure as fuck didn’t mind me holding her like this."

"That surface just happened to be my arm. Lucky, right?"

"I had no idea how to handle men like this…well, besides kill them."

"I could barely keep control of myself in an attempt of normality most days, let alone five more than unhinged individuals."

“Cage,” I sighed. “It’s like you want to lose your hands. “Me?” He offered me an innocent look while crouching down. “I was just voted the least likely to piss you off, so I am here to make sure you’re okay.””

" “I am not getting in bed with you. Ever.” Probably."

' “Alek?” Her lips producing my name did something to me"
