It could be said that Michelle Mankin does NOT mess around or mince words when it comes to giving her characters some heartstopping situations to overcome in her books. Angst..that's here, obstacles, yes... uncertain love and tons of steamy goodness...of course!! All the boxes are definitely checked here in her latest novel, which spins off from the last RF Club book. This one, In His Eyes, picks up where Jo and Gale's attraction gets its sexy start and then runs with her best friends own story and that of a certain drummer. Although there are many characters from previous bands and books making appearances here, this one stands on its own very well, but it sure was fun catching up with them all!
Alpha, possessive drummer Tyler Vaughn is the epitome of a broody, temperamental and wounded man, but there's also a gentle giant under all that bluster for the right person to find. He's been publically dumped by a woman he thought he was falling for and then becomes secretly fascinated by her own best friend. He's afraid to take a chance- been burned one too many times for all of that, but this girl has gotten past his defenses and under his skin.
And here she is, sweet Dolly-beautiful inside and out, so kind and caring, finding joy in being a mother hen to everyone around her. She glows with strength and spirit even though she had the worst possible example to learn from and still has scars from her nightmarish childhood. Dolly lost her heart to someone who couldn't return her love and is now left feeling sad, left out and discarded. Why does everyone hurt her and leave?? She finally figured out who makes her feel safe and happy, but sharing all of herself is not easy for her or the man she's beginning to love.
If you've enjoyed being swept up in the Black Cat Records world and are longing for more, then you've chosen the right book to read next. Dolly and Tyler will take you on quite an emotion filled journey, with twists and tears you might not see coming. Bring tissues, I needed some for both the happy times and the sad ones.
In His Eyes is a book with heart and so much to love about it. One of my favorite parts was the inclusion of the songs that popped up everywhere, some taking me back to special times, people and places in my own life. Dolly and Tyler's private moments were often sweet and touching surprises, others could be pain filled and difficult. They had much to overcome to be together. One mantra that Dolly kept in her head and lived her life by said so much about the resilient person she was:
'The pain I feel today will be tomorrow's strength.'
Then those swoonworthy words that Tyler tells Dolly in the last pages says it all about their happy ever after:
'It's been a difficult road, but it led us to a beautiful destination."
True words and a perfect way to end this great story, which you should definitely read as soon as possible! Michelle put me through her special kind of emotional wringer again and I was happy to be there for it all! Another connected story with many favorites from her previous bands and books.

I wanted more of Ty and Dolly when I was finished with Jo's RFC books, and In His Eyes completely delivered! Their story is everything I could have asked for: an emotional, steamy, and occasionally heartrending story with off the charts chemistry that takes you on a roller coaster ride in the best possible way. And I have to say, Michelle Mankin nailed that cover: that man is SO Ty in my mind!
Both Ty and Dolly have less than idyllic childhoods for different reasons, but those pasts have shaped them into the people they are today. Dolly is a mama bear, all sunshine and huge heart, who does her very best to give those she comes to love everything she never received herself. Ty comes across as gruff and closed off but he is trying to protect what is left of his heart after it was mistreated pretty badly over the course of his life. Jo's rejection is just the latest in a long line of painful experiences and he is determined not to let any woman walk all over him ever again.
Dolly is far from a replacement for her best friend though. It turns out she was the one to initially catch Ty's interest when he met Joey's Band, but a rocky first encounter thanks to Dolly's unexpected strong reaction to meeting him sent him toward Jo instead. Once he is given a chance to get closer to Dolly, he recognizes that the universe has given him a gift in Jo choosing Gale over him, and he jumps on the opportunity.
These two are absolute fire together! Ty is slow to trust and Dolly may be too trusting at times, but they balance each other out and are exactly right for each other. Of course they do not have an easy path, and although I knew one specific tragedy was coming, it didn't make it any easier to read when it happened. There were a few times when I wanted to give one or both of them a good shake to make them see reality, but I can't deny that I loved every minute of their story. Nerve Wreaking Romance❤️

Michelle Mankin takes your for a ride of emotional rollercoaster with her books. You live every single emotion along with the characters.
I did not read RFC so I wasn't aware about Jo's story.
Everything begins with Ty trying to convince Dolly to act upon their mutual attraction after Jo breaks up with him. One thing leads to another and they end up sharing more than they expected understanding each other more than others.
Dolly is the care giver but she also needs someone who takes care of her and she finally found that person in Tyler who not only cares for her but understands Dolly. She is vulnerable towards him with her past and secrets that she hid from Ty could break them apart.
Tyler has baggage of his own his parents death, his ex's betrayal and even Jo has huge impact. He has anger issues along with his other insecurities. He is jealous and possesive about Dolly.
Unexpected loss of Nicolas has brought nothing but grief and sorrow and when all the secrets come to light Ty is heartbroken.
The only thing I did not like was Dolly running to Jo all the time. I do understand they were bestfriends and had an unbreakable bond but Ty feeling insecure because of it was legit. He might have gone a little over the board but he din knew how else to keep Dolly for himself.
My heart broke for him when he finds the RFC video.
It was good to read Tyler getting past his insecurities and taking a chance for his relationship with Dolly. Everything ge does in Vancouver makes you swoon.
It's an action packed book with laughter, sorrow, fun, grief, hearbreak, love. I wept like a kid after Arrow's death and the pain everyone goes through.
It's a book worth all the smiles and tears. A must read if you are a fan of angst and going through an emotional tornado 😜😁.

Currently crying my eyes out just as I do after any RFC book! Though In His Eyes is a spin off it’s still as emotionally beautiful if not more!
Ty and Dolly are without a doubt a stellar couple! Their chemistry is felt immediately and though it’s a bumpy road for them, they never let go and fight for what they deserve! Ty is a very gruff man and with his tough exterior nothing will reach him! The thing is though Dolly is not nothing, she’s a vibrant soul that speaks her mind and loves with her WHOLE heart! Even without trying she starts to melt the walls around Ty’s heart! They both just need to let some truths be told before the unsaid turns their start into an end!
This book is definitely one of the steamiest books and if you’ve read RFC you know the level of steam has to be off the charts....AND IT IS!! What really makes this book stellar is seeing everyone again! These bands and their strong women have become more than just characters! With each book I fall more and more with this group! Their bonds, their loyalty but most of all how there are no judgements just love really make these books standout!
If there is one rockstar romance you read this year; let In His Eyes be the one!

This story has rockstars, music, drama, family issues (genetic and otherwise), partner changes and plenty of hot times.
Dolly and Tyler a lot more in common than their attraction for each other. Dolly is the mothering type of person - trying to make up for what she lacked. She is so loving and giving, she just needs that one person to take care of her.
Tyler has anger issues, as well as not wanting to be tied down. He is also Jo’s former hook-up. Jo is Dolly’s best friend…. Dun dun dun…..
Navigating several rock groups on tour, changing relationships, as well as the obligations of the RFC makes for an interesting story.
I enjoyed the story, but wouldn’t really characterize it as enemies to lovers. There are also many side characters to this story. Check it out though - really no need to have read the other RFC books to enjoy this story.

Michelle Mankin series are my fav. I enjoy reading new books that reintroduce characters from her past series. She does that in this book also. This book is billed as a standalone. And it is but you will enjoy the story more of you read Rock F*ck club series.
I loved this love story. As I was reading I had my doubts. I didn’t know what direction the author was going in. I was happy with the end result. Settle yourself in for an enjoyable read.

Wow! Just finished and I'm still processing. Michelle Mankin has done it again. This story is Hot. Ty and Dolly are sizzling together. They both have pasts they are trying to come to terms with and new tragedies in their lives, how will they deal with it all? Highly recommend this book! It was great seeing the the characters from previous books, too!

Tyler and Dolly are both in rock bands. Tyler used to date Dolly's best friend. He and Dolly were always fighting as they just couldn't get along. Tyler is attracted to Dolly but she's not like other women as she sees through him. Dolly is looking at Ty differently after seeing Ty in a sexy video with her best friend. A steamy, sexy read that I recommend.

Dolly and Tys story had me addicted from the start. They both have walls up that are hard to get past but those walls start to crumble around each other but there’s so much that is simmering below the surface you just wait to see what’s around the corner

This was my first book by this author. I love rock romance and all different tropes of stories. I had a difficult time connecting with this story.
The positives: The main characters were members of different bands out on tour. There were the fun parts of the bands on stage, interacting with one another and, of course, the pairing off of couples having fun together. There was some suspense in secrets, which couples are really together and with life changing events. Dolly and Tyler had great chemistry and they were a pair I was rooting for all along. The cover is gorgeous and was one of the reasons it caught my eye.
The parts I didn’t enjoy as much: I felt there were many storylines with different couples, different issues, and I couldn’t keep them all straight. There was a relationship of one character being involved with the best friend of another before they were a couple. It’s not that I cannot appreciate the taboo nature of the person being best friends former lover, but I am not sure it was necessary to extend the questions. It was repetitious in the same couple issues over and over in different scenes.
This was a book that was recommended by others out in social media. In the end, it wasn’t a story for me.

In His Eyes by Michelle Mankin blew me away. Once I read the synopsis, I knew it would be one that I would drop everything to read. I wanted to slow down and savor the story but I could not put it down.
In His Eyes is a stand alone spin off from the RFC series, which I loved. I was very happy that we get to read about Dolly and Vaughn who have great chemistry and their scenes together were very streamy.
Dolly Byron is great character, I loved her compassion, empathy and love for her band family and anyone else in her circle, despite her tragic childhood. Dolly has eyes for her best friends ex-boyfriend, Tyler Vaughn.
Tyler Vaughn is a drummer in a rock band, he is broody but with a good heart. He has been burned in love in the past and is looking for a no strings attached hookup.
This book is straight up addicting and I loved every second. This book is a Rockstar enemies to lovers trope which is my favorite. I would recommend this book.

There are no words for the emotions that are evoked from this standalone spin off of the RFC series that gives readers Dolly and Tyler’s story. Dolly and Tyler have each experienced abuse in their past which led to building up walls to cope. As they are put together on a tour with their bands, there is no denying the chemistry that exists between them. However, there are some obstacles that must be overcome. How will they fare when tragedy hits? Overall, this is a well written storyline with complex characters that will pull at your heartstrings and them some. I highly recommend this book.

Dolly and Ty
This was a great read about Dolly and Ty. How they came to be together. Both with difficult backgrounds and victims of abuse. The insecurities in both of them are real and relatable. There’s quite a bit of backstory in the book bringing characters from the RFC series. Joey’s band, which Dolly is a part of are a dominant part of the story. Great character buildup and it was great seeing the other characters from the series in this book. Loved it!

Good Rock and Roll Romance
Good rock and roll romance with big moments of sadness that I snarffled my way through with a large number of tissues. There were quite a few relationship and personal issues brought to light and worked on throughout this story. Great camaraderie eschued between band members and even members if other bands. This camaraderie, love and support between members was my favourite component of this story. Good Stuff!!

A Perfect Ending
This was the perfect ending to the RFC series. I loved every book and this one was no exception. Dolly and Ty needed their own book even though she wasn't the main RFC girl. Their story was phenomenal just like the rest. I cried more reading this book, mostly because of thr great detail of the bus tragedy, but also because of their well written story. Again a fantastic book by Michelle Mankin.

Wow...just wow
I didn't know at first if I wanted to read this. The prologue grabbed me so hard. This book stirred up so many emotions...so many things in my past. No matter where you are in life or what you have been through this book will touch ,in some way, anyone who reads it. Ty and Dolly beautiful, flawed ,broken but so human. Beautiful❤❤❤❤❤

Absolutely love it!
It may be a spin off but it felt like an amazing addition to the RFC series! So good! I love Dolly and Ty they are so good for one another. They both have a past that they’ve shared with the same someone. Getting through that took some work on both their parts. Another great read from Michelle.

Ty and Dolly are so amazing together as they they get together.so many feels with ups and downs. These guys are truly hot together and I guarantee you will not want to put this down. I stayed up late because I had to read it all in one sitting!

Michelle Mankin does it again! I love Ty and Dolly's story. This is an emotional enemies to lovers story with a lot of angst and steam! I loved that some character from the RFC series are in the book. I loved this book and couldn't put it down once I started it!

Wow, I really enjoyed this book. The characters have all lived hard lives but come out on the side of good. The way they care for each other just makes my heart sing. Not a fan of RFC… but the rest was amazing.

GREAT BOOK
Dolly and Ty is such a great book. Lots of twists and turns up and down5. This book was such a hard book to put down. The story line was very emotional in spots You just might need some tissues. But all in all this was a GREAT BOOK

Ty and Dolly
I rounded up to 4 stars but I would give it a 3 1/2 stars. While I enjoyed the steamy scenes I thought that Dolly was flighty and a bit needy. Ty was just a bit of a jerk. I'm probably going to get slammed but that is just what my opinion is.
