Three years since her divorce, and Paris Nicholson was still very pessimistic about dating again. This story jumps around so much that I was constantly going back to re-read so that I could figure out what I had missed. Did this author have an editor? This reads like a first draft. Also, I would have to purchase another book to find out what happens - I thought this was a complete book when I bought it, not a sample.
"A New Beginning" is the start of Faith Blakely's series entitled "Small Town Romance". The character descriptions add to the reader's comprehension and excitement of the story. The main character, Paris, is starting a new life in a small town. She is a kind and gentle woman who was tired of the fast life in LA with her husband. Her best friend encourages her to move on to something better. She finds a better life and two men who adore her in the small town of Dawn Falls. The end of the book has a huge cliff hanger that makes the reader hungry for the next book in the series. Faith Blakely has a truly compelling writing style that draws the reader into the story as though you are a part of the events happening from beginning to end...definitely a difficult book to put down!
Although I received this book free, this review is my honest opinion of "A New Beginning".
Interesting and intriguing. A short story that gonna keep you hooked until the end. Just be advised this is a story that continues, be prepared for the cliffhanger in the following short book.
Very poor grammar, wrong words used that don't fit the sentence, and a terrible cliffhanger ending that I would not even pay the .99 to read to find out how it ends. I think it could have been a good story, but the author needs much more practice and a good proofreader.
There were grammar errors. An ok casual read, nothing that will knock your socks off. A girl who married the wrong guy divorces and 3 yrs later goes on a western vacation with her best friend and finds love.
I wish there was a bit more character development. The book also jumped around a lot in the beginning. I did enjoy the cliff hanger at the end and will likely read the whole series, but overall I just wish there was more depth because the story line was good.
The story is underdeveloped. There are misspelled words and usage of tense. The story is continued in the next book, so the character history is probably developed there.
What a lovely read. The detailed descriptions of the town and characters had me fall right into the story, holding my attention from the start. It was a quick read, but very enjoyable!
Love the characters and the town. Its so sweet and so realistic. The end is shocking and is making me think hard. I think I know but of course got to continue reading the series.
Received this book free from author for an honest review.
