Book Three of the epic series, Mercy Rising, continues the tale of The Forbidden, following Mercy and the people of Zion as she fulfills a prophecy to a greater extent than any had imagined.
Mercy struggles between her responsibilities in Zion and a calling that won't let her rest, a calling that drives her back to The Forbidden. Once again, pushing the thoughts of Choosing Day away and ignoring the events that left her bound to Orion, she throws herself into her new role as the Robin Hood of the Apocalypse.
Orion has vowed himself to Mercy and doesn't regret it. He returns to The Forbidden with her to continue the work he started before the red-headed warrior had rescued him. Back in his hometown, he faces more than he plans for, having to choose between the two most important people in his life.
Mercy Rising is a clean, dystopian survival fiction series that is based on the children, now grown, from Grant Us Mercy, a post-apocalyptic survival fiction series. If you haven't read Grant Us Mercy yet, you can devour that series after you read Mercy Rising: The Deliverance. You'll appreciate the gripping origins of Zion.
I am ABSOSTINKINGLUTELY in love with the world that DC Little has created. I love dystopian and apocalyptic fiction but I HATE the way most story lines focus on the bad and the ugly. In both Grant Us Mercy and Mercy Rising, there are good and bad people but the focus is on the goodness of love and life, of people and without being preachy, on the Goodness of God.
This book is the third of the "next generation" and was preceded by the 9 volume "parent" series. There are also two others, one from Grant Us Mercy Arland's Transformation, and one from Mercy Rising about Orion.
While you can certainly enjoy this book as a standalone, or this series individually, I would strongly recommend reading the nine volumes of Grant Us Mercy (plus don't forget 1.5 Arlands Transformation) then Orion's short story, then reading Mercy Rising 1 & 2.
I am both a BETA and an ARC reader. I read this two weeks ago as a BETA and received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
The Deliverance is as expected, a great continuation of the Mercy Rising series. The reader is right back in the post apocalyptic world DC Little has created. You really feel Mercy and Orion’s emotions and tensions. The series skips the sex and most of the violence while still telling a compelling story. It leaves you both satisfied that parts of the story are somewhat wrapped up AND anxiously waiting for the fourth book to be released!
While it isn’t necessary I’m glad I read the Grant us Mercy series first for the backstory.
I received a copy this book for free and this is what I really think.
Delivering the people of The Forbidden from tyranny and destruction that was killing so many was what Orion and the Freedom Fighters were supposed to do. Mercy and Orion as well as Tucker and others went to try and do just that. Zion was free and Mercy thought it would be easy. She found out differently. Overthrowing the Coalition wasn't easy but Orion staying behind to get everything settled doesn't sit well with either one of them. But in the end a surprise is revealed.
I find DC Little to be a gifted and talented author. She has a way of crafting her story, masterfully interwoven with progressive world building, action, and delving deeply into his characters persona without overdoing one thing or another. I can’t wait to get my hands the next novel by this author. I highly recommend this author! I gave this honest, voluntary review after being given a free copy of the book with no monetary compensation.
The latest heart stopping installment of Mercy Rising. Clear your schedule because this a one sitting read. Follow Mercy and Orion as they head back to give the people of the forbidden the one thing they never had. Freedom. The amount of twists and turns in this read will have you glued until the end.
Mercy Rising: The Deliverance is a welcome addition to the series; it takes the story line in a different direction that opens interesting possibilities for future installments. Along with plenty of action and intrigue, Mercy goes through some personal growth as she attempts to solve a problem that has existed since the beginning of the Grant Us Mercy series.
An really excellent third part to this brilliant new dystopian series! Following the next generation, it is full of excitement & surprises! Well written with a great, well thought out plot. I do always enjoy this writers work & do recommend!
This book was so adventurous and fast paced. Full of hope and love. I could hardly put the book down until I finished it. I cannot wait to read the next one in the series.
Stalwart freedom fighters, women warriors, you will get them all in this series. This book has hope springing out every chapter! Loving the series.. This just gets better and better!
In this book Orion and Mercy, along with a few others return to the forbidden to help the people there. The story moves quickly and I really like the new characters the author has introduced. I love the connection between Mercy and Orion!
I have enjoyed each and everyone of the books in this series and this one did not disappoint. The story of Mercy and Orion grabs at your heart and there is plenty of action to satisfy one and all. Great book for all readers.
