About the author

Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.

OH. MY. GOD. I say this each and every time a new volume comes out but this time I really mean it. I am so done with this series. I thought dealing with Misaki and Akihiko was bad but THIS! Seriously, how am I 15 volumes in and nothing has changed since volume 4? 😤 Junjo Romantica was achingly slow but at least there was progress. I saw Misaki and Akihiko growing closer and their relationship moving forward. That is not the case here.This is the relationship equivalent of stagnant water festering with mosquitoe larvae. Everything and everyone, including Nao (who I said I liked in my review of volume 14) is annoying and I cannot take it any more. I mean, seriously, why was he acting like he and Onodera were a couple? With that infuriating smile on his face. 🤚😖

Also, why didn't Kisa and Yukina just move in together?! What is this across the street shit? 😑🙄🤬 Seriously. So done.

*2 stars only because of the time I've invested so far.

This instalment is probably the weakest so far, as it covers a bit of a weird juncture in Onodera and Takano’s story, and that makes up the bulk of the volume. It still very much has its moments, though! Kisa and Youkina’s show-stealing over the last few books continues… but it’s clear something big is about to happen with the main couple, the build-up being the reason they’ve been bubbling under lately. Bring it~

I mean were to start. This story is so well built and so painfully slow and wonderful I can't even. It's just ugh I love it. Great impossible situations that have you laughing, crying, wanting. Absolutely the best manga and it has an anime eeeeeeek. So good. Also the depth of the story and complexity of the characters makes this manga a step above the rest.

And I know its older but I always wish for color. It was very sad to see Onodera so angry in the present when he use to be so innocent and in love. Being about a Shoujo manga publishing house made this manga so much more enjoyable and interesting. I appreciated the little definitions of the publishing house words we dont understand. And oh Takano how I've missed you. Your mind and manner is very sexy and worth every panel I read.

Update: I might lose if they the writer never finishes this manga. I need the ending I need churchbells and all things happy. Too much has happened to these two THEY NEED THEIR HAPPY ENDING! AND I NEED TO READ ABOUT IT. And kou omg just seeing some random guy in the background sparkling and you instantly know its him, well it just makes my day. KOU YOUR TOO DAMN SHINY!

Sometimes flashback scenes can be a bit much. For this series, I actually like those scenes because there's so much development of how Takano and Ritsu have changed and grown over the last decade. Ritsu finally putting to voice (in his head) of his feelings, had my heart RACING. I'm so over Nao's interference and ready to see more touching moments. This volume has a troupe I love, the love interest taking care of their love interest.

For the Kisa/Yukina chapter, this one was probably less enjoyable for me. I still loved it, but I felt like it was missing something like the last volume had. The ending had me chuckling.

The chapter that focused on Takano is a nice addition to this volume. A bit of backstory of Takano's indifference along with some squaring up with Nao.

All in all, this volume really sold me for this series. Honestly, 14 and 15 are my favorites so far. I like that there's more character development and storyline. Takano's still not my favorite Love Interest, but him with Ritsu is great.

2.5 stars. Lol, Takano had a key in his shoe all day and didn’t notice? I skimmed their whole story because it’s the same old same old (thoughts of rape disguised as passion, confusion, indecision, jealousy, misunderstandings, Nao, flashbacks, etc.). If you’ve read any of their other books you know what’s going on.

5 stars. I love that Yukina and Kisa (even though they’re weird) are relatively open with each other and will actually say they like each other. They still have drama but it’s slightly different each time. Yukina was hilarious surprising him on his birthday with all the holiday gifts he missed and then also saying he moved to the house across the street because he knew the one thing Kisa wanted more than anything was his boyfriend. He wasn’t wrong. And Yukina’s elderly landlord who politely pointed out that their sex houses were loud enough to carry cracked me up. I loved that the landlord and the friend of Yukina that he casually told about his boyfriend weren’t queerphobic jerks. I like that easy acceptance much better.

Erst Mal vorne weg....ich habe es auf deutsch gelesen nicht das man sich wundert es gab nur die deutsche Version nicht zur Auswahl.

Ich muss sagen......für den Preis finde ich es zu dünn an Seiten aber gut Material wird ja teuer.
Band 15 puh schon soviele und ehrlich langsam wird es etwas naja langweilig. Es gibt einen Fortschritt im Plot und ja ich fand es schon oke aber so langsam zieht es sich etwas extrem für mich weswegen ich mir echt überlege sie weiter zu holen.
Wie gesagt der Plot macht einen sprung nach vorne aber auch nur einen minikleinen nichts destotrotz habe ich mir gedacht nooooo bitte nicht und am Ende musste ich lachen und war etwas traurig das es schon vorbei war aber wie gesagt ich überlege mir hier wirklich die Manga nicht mehr zu holen.

Aber lasst euch bitte nicht davon abhalten für euch selber zu entscheiden. Viel spass beim lesen

3.5 again. Maybe it should be 3. IDK. I started reading this when it came out in January 2022, but then stuck a bookmark in it and let it sit until 16 just came out. And that's really the only reason I picked it back up and started over. Vol 14 left me feeling so soured and that carried over unfortunately. What Takano did is a big deal and he attempts to address it, but the whole thing is just...not done well. Effectively blown off. Nao's happy go lucky pretending is annoying and it doesn't feel like we go anywhere. Ritsu still questions everything a million times. I thought the series was winding down but instead it's dragging us along with it.

Kisa and Yukina are a saving grace for having a healthy, mature relationship. They accept each other and value their time together.

We are getting closer and closer to the day Ritsu bites the bullet and finally tells Takano how he feels. This volume gave me EVERY single butterfly. Nao is trying but the fact that Ritsu is finally able to admit his feelings internally changes the game. I need volume 16 IMMEDIATELY.

My favorite couple is and forever remains Shouta and Yukina. I love them so much it makes my tiny three sizes too small heart go doki doki every chapter. Yukina is so considerate and is really helping Shouta grow and I cannot get enough.

The Yokozawa chapter was cute and I am slowly warming up to him. His OVA is still top tier viewing when rewatching the series. I will gladly take more of his story.

I was pretty sure I read volume 14 but the premise doesn’t sound familiar to me so I will have to go back and read it.

Onodera tries to tell Takano how he feels but collapses from a fever.

As much as I love seeing the other couples such as Kisa and Yukina but I still love Onodera and Takano. I am just anxiously waiting for him to finally confess his love to him and it feels like he is about to. What will happen after, I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out.

I hope we get volume 16 soon.

Ahora mismo estoy realmente molesta y con muchos más sentimientos. Demasiado ha pasado en este volumen que siento que estoy mal de la cabeza.

-La vida durante los 10 años de Ristu
-Kisa y sus inseguridades
-Yukina siendo Yukina
-La ultima escena que aun no dejo de reír por ella.

El problema que le estoy viendo ahora mismo a este manga es que, de nuevo, estamos volviendo a los mismos comportamientos celosos que parecían que ya habían superado. ha sido como volver a la casilla de inicio, lo cual te hace plantearte si continuar con la historia o no.
