Pirates and Indians? Who would'a thunk? [Rating: PG-13] Captain Arabelle O'Shea and her crew of former brigands, now wreckers, have struck it rich! Or have they? A fortune in buried treasure, that of the notorious pirate Black Caesar has, by a curious series of circumstance, come into their possession. But they are not alone on this desolate, tropical beach. Chekeika, an Indian boy brimming with curiosity, is watching them; and from his places of concealment, he learns things that will alter the course of not only his life, but of all their lives.
Tim Robinson is a third generation Floridian, his grandfather having taken up a 100 acre homestead on Cape Canaveral in 1924. It was his grandfather and father who instilled in him a love for everything Florida. Tim grew up in West Palm Beach, halfway between saltwater Lake Worth and freshwater Lake Mangonia, where he spent his childhood and youth traipsing through the woods or biking over to the beach or taking in the wonders of Florida in some fashion or another. He lives with his wife, Connie, on a small farm in Indiantown, Florida.
I enjoyed the story, but it went on & on. Maybe he needed so many words to get paid. I feel like it could have been less wordy. I had trouble finishing it. At times I read only the 1st sentence of each paragraph. It was nice to see old friends. I like how he ended it. Except for one part that never gets explained. I'll read the rest of the series.
