(This might be spoiler-y, idk). This is going to feel very critical, but I'm not trying to be mean. First things first, the concept of the story was quite good, but I think the execution lacked a bit. The first problem was the pacing of the characters relationship, not only the romantic relationship but also the friendships that are formed in this book. I was quite bothered by how fast they all became friends and were trusting eachother and sharing their trauma. I wanted it to go slower, it would've been more interesting and investing to read a trust/friendship/relationship that is built slowly on a strong foundation. The second thing was the depiction of trauma itself. Trauma is not a straight line where you go from being traumatized to being cured, it has highs and lows, sometimes you're feeling fine and you spend weeks being ok and then all of a sudden you get into a really low. In this story their trauma felt like it was a straight line that was cured by the power of love, specially Sirius' trauma. In a matter of days Sirius went from not being able to be touched by anybody to being able to engage in sexual activities. I'm by no means a psychiatrist or a specialist in trauma, but I don't think that's how things work. I would've liked to see the progression of him getting over his trauma with therapy and building his trust on people instead of seeing him all of a sudden get over most of his trauma. Overall it's a good fic, MollyMaryMarie writes really well, I just think it should've been written with a bit more care.
I rate this like 3.5 I really enjoyed it overall but the first half give or take was a little repetitive because we would see the same scenes from the other person’s perspective which was sometimes nice but like a said a little bit repetitive at points it got better throughout the story and stopped happening much and then barely at all but it definitely made me start off the story a little slower then my normal pace some things I really liked in the story and some I didn’t love I feel like some of the relationship was a little rushed considering everything they’ve been through but I still overall enjoyed it and how the story played out I wish we got a little bit more of them but it was still a decent length so I didn’t mind where it left off
