Eight Bible studies which explore the book of Nehemiah, strengthening us to build for God. Nehemiah is the story of a key moment in the history of God’s the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. But it also has a great deal to say to us about what it means to be part of God’s mission. Dr. Eric Mason helps groups to unpack this rich book section by section—inspiring us to get involved in God’s work to build his kingdom. Features close attention to the text, a focus on real-life application and questions that really open up discussion. Plus a comprehensive guide for leaders in the back.

Nehemiah: God’s Building Project, is a guide to Nehemiah as a companion piece to Nehemiah For You, both by Eric Mason.
Mason includes eight studies in his guide, presenting a robust way to dig deeper into God’s Word. Each study begins with a Story So Far section, giving background and context to the current verses. Talkabout sections are icebreakers that are relevant to the passage. These would be helpful if you are preparing a Sunday School lesson, or even a sermon on the passage to open or illustrate.
Enhanced Study
The Investigate section asks questions of the text, allowing the reader to follow along and understand. Dictionary segments are helpful, including words such as consecrate and cubit, as well as people and places such as Zerubbabel and Mount Sinai. Getting Personal and Application sections are also included.
A Leader’s Guide is included at the back of the book, serving as an answer key. What I found most helpful were the Big Idea and Summary sections. These will prove to be crucial to small group leaders, but I think they would be especially useful to children’s teachers and ministers. This guide is a great addition to enhance your study of Nehemiah.
I received a media copy of Nehemiah: God’s Building Project and this is my honest review.
