I've been kidnapped by an incubus. It doesn't matter that he's my betrothed—I'd been running from him and my coven for the past two decades. My mother finally found me, and betrayed my location.
I won't blame my boys for this. It wasn't their fault. I wasn't going to be able to hide my magick forever, so this was inevitable. Seth has me, and will likely claim my virginity, my magick, and my life. I'm only sorry for the pain it will likely bring my boys.
Karl, a self-effacing vampire who fusses like a mother hen. Luka, a rowdy werewolf who loudly proclaimed me as his mate the first night I met him. And Quinn. A player warlock who struggles with his feelings for me just as much I struggle with my feelings for him.
If I'm about to die, then at least I'll go down fighting. I owe that much to my coven—those cowards who sold me out just so they wouldn't feel Seth's fury themselves. I know it's going to hurt, but I also know there will be a brief moment when I lose my virginity where the magick will crackle against my skin, and soar through my veins. That is when I must strike—and try to take down as many of them with me as I can...before the incubus claims all of me for himself.
The author didn't do a good job of writing the action scenes, so many times it was confusing what was happening. Also, repeatedly there were things implied and things spoken and implied between characters that I had no clue what it was. It was very annoying. I felt like yelling at the author, "I'm not a mind reader. I have no clue what you're trying to convey!"
As much as I was invested in Aggie and the guys and how close they were getting in the first book, somehow that all went out the window in this one. I felt like everything was reversed in this one. Aggie and the guys didn't get closer, they seemed to get further apart. I didn't even feel/believe any of the passion or love they supposedly had for each other by the end.
To that point, the author did this in the first book, and I didn't like it, but H wasn't technically with Aggie yet, but went full out with having one of the guys sleep with another woman while supposedly only wanting Aggie and pursuing Aggie. It pissed me off, and I didn't agree with the premise as to why it was done. Then the cherry on top was, there is finally some heat but it's between two of the Hs. I didn't like how it was approached and gone about. It still just felt wrong, because it didn't really have anything to do with the Aggie. Also, the way the author turned Karl bi seemed not authentic. It was more off putting to me than hot in anyway.
This one just missed the mark in so many ways. The writing needed to be edited and tightened up badly. There were also so many errors, especially in switching the Hs names that just added to my overall disappointment with this story. The series started so promising but blew off the rails in this one.
This series has a lot of potential. While I really enjoyed the book and am excited to keep reading I do feel like there's a lot going on. The book doesn't just follow Aggie but also Quinn, Luka, Karl, and now Seth. The additional POVs aren't necessarily a bad thing. I actually like multiple POVs knowing what's going on with other characters. I also enjoyed seeing how Luka, Quinn, and Karl bonded away from Aggie. But following each character does make the story feel longer and draws away what I believe is the original plot that was laid out in the first book. This series is starting to feel kinda like episodes on a tv show. Like this book covers an hour-long episode and then ends on a cliffhanger to be picked up in the next episode. This is a pretty good book and I'm interested in reading the rest.
I get to see Aggie's boys again! I missed all of them and am ready for the third book whenever it comes out. Fair warning there is a cliffhanger. It helps to hook you in and wanting to read the third book!
If you haven't read the first book there will be spoilers! Go and read the first book. This series is a continuous one not standalone works.
Agatha has been kidnapped by the "psychopath" incubus Seth. Leaving Quinn and poor Luka torn up. They have found the site where Agatha was abducted at but they cannot find Karl. They need the grumpy vampyre because of the scent left behind by Seth. Neither the warlock nor the lycon can defeat a incubus. Let alone the son of a Fallen.
But first Quinn needs to sleep for forty eight hours. Having exhausted himself completely leading up to Aggie's kidnapping. Luka begrudgingly agrees but he knows he must care for his pack. Whoa wait? Pack? With Quinn? Karl maybe, definitely Aggie. But a mercenary warlock?
Karl had left Aggie's side, having instructed her to remain within her cottage. He had to leave because his Elder Varos had summoned him. He had stupidly believed he could just walk away from Varos. To finally be free and happy with Aggie, Luka, and maybe that darn warlock. Anything for Aggie. Only it was never that simple.
Caged in the old prison cell below the castle. Karl prayed that neither of the two men were chasing after him. Just keeping Aggie safe. And while being alone in silence old memories boil into his mind. Memories Karl has tried forgetting.
Aggie is united with Vicky her old friend from the coven. Only twenty years of separation from one another have proven things have changed. Leaving Aggie to get to know Seth, who has been nothing but a gentleman. Yet is he being genuine or just putting on a show?
Aggie soon learns the truth about things that no one wanted to tell her twenty years ago. Seth helps to bring to light secrets that had been kept. And the boys? They have to work together to get to Aggie and rescue her from Seth. Or so they believe they need to.
I loved how this book focused a little more on the dynamics of the three men. We get to see their unique bonds and their growth. Their relationships with one another. We also get to see a very spicy MM scene! Don't worry, it had Aggie's seal of approval.
These books are fast paced which I very much enjoy. Finished the book within one day! This book gave more backstory into everyone's characters. Primarily the men. I loved the witty banter between everyone and also seeing Damon! We get to see more of him and his role in Aggie's life. I also love how you don't know who's going to end up in the harem.
Now to wait for book three because the twists at the end! Do enjoy the read and give the author some stars!
The Witch Who Couldn't Give Amuck picks up right where the first book left off, and it's full of magical mess, old secrets, and a fresh dose of supernatural relationship drama.
Aggie, our reluctant witch, has been abducted by Seth - the incubus she’s been avoiding since fleeing her coven twenty years ago. Meanwhile, Karl is captured by his own people, and Luka and Quinn are scrambling to make sense of it all. The found-family quad is scattered, the tension is high, and trust is getting tested from all angles.
We also get a reunion with Vicky, Aggie’s old bestie from her coven days, which adds an extra layer of “oh, we’re not the same witches we used to be” energy. And Seth? Surprisingly respectful. Surprisingly hot. Definitely suspicious. Aggie’s got questions...and so do we.
Along the way, there are new reveals (surprise parentage alert), a magical familiar twist, and... another love interest? Let’s just say the quad is feeling a little more crowded, but the group dynamic evolves in some satisfying ways. One of the best parts of this book is how we finally get to see the boys bonding with each other, not just Aggie. There’s even a spicy MM scene that’s intimate, respectful, and has Aggie’s full support. It’s a lovely little shift that shows real relationship depth growing within the group.
The book still has some editing hiccups, and I felt it lost a bit of the energy and momentum that made the first one so charming. But the emotional development and deeper group dynamics kept me invested, and I’ll definitely be back to see how Aggie’s magical mess wraps up in the final chapter.
Tropes: 🧙♀️ Midlife witch power-up 🧛♂️ Reverse harem + new love interest 💔 Coven secrets / magical trauma 🌈 MM romance + poly rep 🔥 Incubus with gentleman energy (??)
Read Rating: 🔮🔮🔮 Spice Scale: 🌶️🌶️🌶️ (more than the first) Magic Meter: 💫💫💫 (magical lore and new discoveries)
Things are not all that they seem to be. Addie is now in a new place away from her boys. She is back closer to the world she ran away from with the succubus who won the bidding for her virginity. Her boys are trying to find her, but what happens when she does.
I loved the hierarchy changes in this book and getting to learn a bit more about the history and background of Addie's boys. How far will each go to save her, but to also complete their original goals before they found her. How will they all work together when you add another male into the mix.
Addie gets to learn that what she was told as a young witch is not exactly what she thought, but not everyone knows all of the truths behind why she is how she is. This story brings us a new character and POV and his powers are very interesting. This brings a whole new level to the dynamics. I also have enjoyed the changes in Quin who now, not only sees his role with Addie, but also can he make a better future for young warlocks like him?
So much change and growth in this book and I cannot wait to finish this trilogy.
Usually if I just lose interest in a book and DNF, I don’t care enough to write a review. I’m sad about this one because I had a lot of fun in book one and I would have really liked to keep following Aggie and her boys.
However I think there was a pretty major downshift in writing quality. Maybe it was rushed, maybe it just needed a few more rounds of edits, but the book stopped being fun for me.
The beginning skipped the first few essential days of Aggie being in a new environment, and around potential friends/enemies.
There is lot of “telling you that the character has already begun to think/feel/suspect something”. We just get a whole bunch of “I can’t trust him but he’s been proving this whole time that…”. I don’t like when you get first real clear description of her distrust AND all of the proof that he’s a really good guy in the same sentence. This happened multiple times.
I also feel like Seth’s perspective and voice has been the most clear/coherent. He’s obviously going to be one of Aggie’s boys but it’s weird to feel like he’s the main character.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
"My father expects me to become alpha one day, despite the fact I have several OLDER brothers more eager for the job."
& then less than 2 mns later... the next page in fact;
"“Your family is large, then, if you have several brothers.” Luka frowned. “Yes. Three of them, all YOUNGER..."
Which is it?!? Are they younger or older?
& either a Globe or a map of the world would've helped...
“My mother is a member of one of the Spanish covens. I don’t know who my father was. Some passing traveler, but of European descent since I don’t fully share her darker coloring.”
Spain is IN Europe, Southern Europe where the sun shines nearly all year round, so more often than not people are olive-skinned...but I'm going to be charitable & assume that the author simply forgot to add NORTHERN European as they get a lot less sun, so are considerably paler-skinned but they're ALL European! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
But again... either an editor or a proofreader would've helped & I'm only on page 19 so far
To review the Witch who couldnt give amuk I went ahead and read the first book, The 40 Year Old Virgin Witch, which was included in my Kindle Unlimited subscription. It was a quick read and I was ready to begin the second novel. It was really refreshing to see an older female heroine that was confident. The second novel was also short and sweet that left me wanting the third book already! I really enjoyed the fantasy and Paranormal aspects of the book and learning about the magic system. Her individual relationships with each man was lovely to see and everyone respected each other greatly. It was enjoyable to see new relationships develop aswell, even with characters I previously hated! Although the book is steamy, you could read the passion and love between the characters and it was not mindless at all. Overall, I would recommend not only the second novel but definitely the first one as well. Thanks so much!
Aggie and her boys are learning more and more about Seth the guy who has been hunting for her for 20 years. Seth has finally got Aggie but he doesn't attack her like she thought. He is nice and answers all her questions with the truth. The boys on the other hand are trying to get the vampire back from his Elder. They also learn a secret about Damon Aggie's familiar. There's more to him than anyone could imagine. After getting free from the clutches of his elder. The boys start their quest to fine Aggie. Once the find Aggie Seth lets the boys stay there with them. We come to find out what we thought about Seth was wrong. Soon more and more answer about who Aggie's dad is come to light. But none of them ever could have guessed what Aggie really is. I can't wait to get to the next book. Just to find out how this all ends
I enjoyed reading The Witch Who Couldn’t Give Amuke(Aggies Boys Book 2)!!!! All about Aggie a witch who is still pure at the ripe old age of Forty & Karla a vampyre , Luka is a werewolf, Quinn is a warlock & Seth is an incubusi. Each of the men want Aggie, and Seth has a legal document that says he paid 10 million dollars for her when she was born. Everybody has magical powers, but Aggie’s is very strong and is very old, meaning she comes from a early demigod, which one the, guys do not know but will make them very powerful. Read about Aggie and her guys and see how they will protect her and themselves in the near future. Lots of emotion and some toe curling does occur!! Definite Read!!! Can’t wait to read book 3!!!!
When Your Brain Does a Cartwheel: Handling the Mind-Blowing Plot Twist We've all been there. You're smugly sipping your tea, feeling like Sherlock Holmes, having correctly predicted the butler's motive, when BAM! The author throws a plot twist so outrageous, so utterly unexpected, that your brain does a cartwheel and lands squarely in a pile of "Wait, what?!"
It's a glorious, frustrating, and hilarious experience. But when the story slams the brakes and veers off into uncharted territory, what do you even say?
That's exactly what this book does to you, and I loved every second of it. Now something I don't think I have ever said...I need a night to digest what happened in the last 2 chapters, before I eagerly jump into the next book tomorrow!
This is the second book in this series by this author and they keep getting better. Please note this book along with the first one are not stand-alones and should be read in order. The guys have to work together to first save one of them. You see a lot of of the guys in this book and learn more about them. Aggie is kidnapped by Seth but he gives her time to know him which is something she wants. Karl, Luka, and Quinn have to save her from Seth.....or so they thought. When they find her things getting interesting for everyone. You will need to read this book to find out what happens. Be prepared for one heck of a cliffhanger at the end. I seriously didn't see that one coming.
The first two chapters of this book are just a cop and paste of the last two chapters of the previous book. While I appreciate a recap, that was just annoying to reread the exact same two chapters. There is also a lot of editing needed and this book feels like it was rushed. I’m trying to finish it because I like the idea of the story, but this is hard to get through.
Ok this is book two of a umm three part series and it ends on a cliffhanger, just like book one did. I enjoyed reading it, even though it is a slow burn 🔥 it is a why choose Paranormal and I like Why Choose Paranormals quite a lot.
The main female character is a Witch and she has a group of guys that she is with.
I think that the series is interesting and I am enjoying it.
This is the second book in the series and the author delivers once again! She brings a cast of strong characters, with peeks of different stories, and brings an interesting storyline with one heck of a cliffhanger ending!! I can't wait for the next book!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Holy hell the last page of this book was a massive cliffhanger!!!! Loved learning more about the characters and their experiences, but still a bit iffy on Seth's redemption arch. I just felt like there was something lacking, but I'm starting to warm to him. A little. Looking forward to book 3!
Yeah, I didn’t see where this was going. One thing that needs to be done is have an editor go through and do corrections. It’s difficult to stay in the moment when you have reread something to make it sound right. Also, it’s aggravating to keep reading the same thing from the perspective of each person. I like the storyline otherwise.
Like the title says, book 1 sucked me in. I finished book 2 in a day and I’m jumping right into book 3.
Aggie is an interesting character to read. Of course I love her boys. Raven Storm does some fun world building in this book and then leaves us with a cliff hanger leading into book 3.
There might have been one steamy scene but there was mostly action and fighting of all different types of sparring - both for sport and real. More answers have been given but the last questions are still to come. On to the last in the series.
I kept pushing along, but at 50% in I have to stop. Honestly I just can’t with the MMCs. If they truly cared about the FMC they wouldn’t be banging other women. Granted I understand there isn’t a commitment yet, but they are all about her and then just go elsewhere or make deals with whomever for hot lovin? I don’t get that. So I’m out.
My Thoughts: This is still a super slooowwwww burn. They are all just circling her and no one has done anything yet because shes special and will share her power with whoever takes her Vcard.
While being a quick and easy read there were a few discrepancies that a good editor/beta reader really could have picked up on, the plot would go along quite nicely and then suddenly stall. Some of the facts about the characters would flip without warning.
Overall not bad if you're looking for a bit of mindless reading.
I just couldn’t. I love Karl the vampire and Luka the werewolf, but I barely trust Quinn and I absolutely don’t trust Seth. And I don’t really want any type of redemptive arc for either of them. And I know it won’t go back to just those two so I don’t want to continue.
Wow, great book! The story line was amazing. One never knew what was going to happen next. And the ending, who would have guessed! Characters were basically the same with a few new ones added in.
Witches. A werewolf. Some vampires. An incubus. A cat.
It’s very well written and has kept me on the edge of my seat. It’s impossible to put down. I loved reading it. I loved how sexy it can be, how charming. And how complex.
The plot is getting interesting I am wondering how it will all be tied up in the last book. I wish these books were longer, with so many points of veiw I think we could get more information if they were a little longer.
