This ten-session study explores the heart of the Fourth Gospel. The Gospel of John is a very different book from the other three - there is no sermon on the Mount or parables and there is no teaching of the Lord's Prayer. What is important about John is the undertone of conflict between those who accepted Jesus as Messiah and those who did not. Notable passages include the encounter of Jesus with John the Baptist, the conversation with the Samaritan woman, the passion narrative and the appearance of the resurrected Christ by the Sea of Galilee. Each volume in this series includes maps, illustrations, discussion questions, definitions of key terms and other useful background information.
I struggled with how many stars to give this. It is an in-depth look at the book of John and I enjoyed it but I had to work at it. May have been me but it seemed like it could have been condensed - wordy for the sake of making it the correct length?
