Exploitation, greed, and murder…there’s nothing Violetta “Six” Salvitto won’t do for her friends.
Jeremy Wheaton is dead, but his friend, US attorney Violetta “Six” Salvitto, is certain it’s not the accident the police think it is. And judging by the way the uber hot paralegal from her office, Gavin Cooper, keeps cropping up in her off-the-books investigation into the hit-and-run, she’s not the only one questioning the finding.
Gavin didn’t a have choice when his superiors assigned him to play backup to Violetta. But after watching her for five long months, the boisterous, hot-tempered, and sexy as hell woman has gotten under his skin. No doubt, she’ll cut off his you-know-what when she finds out who he really is. But despite the risk to his beloved anatomy, he’s not about to let her investigation into Wheaton’s death put her in danger.
From Boston to Indonesia to New Hampshire and back again, Six and Gavin follow the breadcrumbs of her friend’s life. And when hitmen, murder, and crimes against humanity start cropping up at an alarming rate, they know the trail is a hot one. Now the only question that remains is if they can stay alive long enough to finish what Jeremy started.
Tamsen Schultz is the author of several romantic suspense novels and American Kin (a short story published in Line Zero Magazine). In addition to being a writer, she has a background in the field of international conflict resolution, has co-founded a non-profit, and currently works in corporate America. Like most lawyers, she spends a disproportionate amount of time thinking (and writing) about what it might be like to do something else. She lives in Northern California in a house full of males including her husband, two sons, three cats, a dog, and a gender-neutral, but well-stocked, wine rack.
I devoured this 2nd work of four, and cannot wait to read more! I was drawn in immediately, and I continued until I finished. The novel is full of beautiful prose, word pictures, suspense, and mystery. The characters are well-developed, smart, fleshed out, and intriguing. Although there were situations that I’m sure took place in Book 1, “Six” reads smoothly and easily as a stand-alone novel (except for the cliffhanger, of course!), except I am eager to read Book 1 to find out how it all started. The main character, Six, is a feisty Italian, and being Italian-American myself, I couldn’t help but smile as her native tongue took over when she was angry and throwing rapid-fire insults. She is strong, passionate, confident, well-educated, and fiercely loyal to those she loves and cares about. The quartet of friends are the epitome of what we’d all like to have in our lives—protective, loving, fiercely loyal, always there for each other at a moment’s notice. I’m looking forward to reading Book 1 where the series began, then Books 3 & 4 , and anything Tamsen Schultz has written or may write in the future.
Tamsen Schultz has done it again. Her second book in the Doctors Club is as good as the first. When a friend is killed in a hit & run, Six (Violetta) and her friends try to make sense of what is behind it. Along with the help of Gavin Cooper a paralegal who works with her they try to unravel who or what is behind it. While Violetta is being stacked and then attacked, Gavin is trying to keep her and her sister safe from the unknown. This is a book that is hard to set down. I received this as an ARC for my honest reviews.
Six is the second story in the Doctor's Club series. This series focuses on four friends who attended an exclusive spy school as teenagers. Now, they all live close to each other in the US, working in different roles, but acting as spies when needed to by their countries. This book focuses on Six, the Italian member of the group, who finds herself thrown into a mystery after the death of a friend. She has been avoiding spending too much time with a new man in her office, Gavin, a man who she finds incredibly attractive. It seems that he has been sent to support her. This was a good read that worked well as a balance between thriller and romance. There are certainly elements of both. I think unlike some of the other books I've read by Tamsen Schultz, the romance takes more of a back seat to the rest of the story. It still works well though. You do have to suspend belief a little with these books, I'm not sure that spies from different countries would work together the way that these women do. It's a nice idea, that all the countries of the world are against the baddies, but we all know that sadly things just don't work like that. Overall this was a good and entertaining read and I'm looking forward to reading the next in the series; Devil.
What an intriguing story. Violetta “6” has her hands full trying to solve what happened. There’s no stopping until you find out the truth. Can’t wait for the next book.
The plot was interesting, but it was kind of disappointing how bumbling the villains were throughout. The progress between the two leads was also pretty disjointed with seemingly no real chemistry. It was just a thriller that the author put some random coupling in.
Every book I have read by Tamsen Schultz is better than the last. With her new Doctors Club, she's taken the lives and loves of intelligence agents to a whole new level ~ so much so that I can't wait to read the next book!
As background, this author's books deal with intelligence ~ not only geeky, computer type things including hacking ~ but the intelligence forces of foreign countries as well as the US. So if you're someone who likes to read about strong, confident, intelligent women who know how to take down powerful wrong-doers, but know when to rely on their excellent team members, are loyal to the end and who love equally as fast, fierce, and hard, this author's work is for you. So I guess I'm daring you to pick these up. Try them, I think you'll be very happy you did.
One very cool thing is that characters from previous series continue to pop up in other books and series. It's always fun finding those little Easter eggs and knowing exactly who that person is. Never fear though, you won't feel left out for not knowing. Each of these books, while better read as a series are definitely okay to read as standalones because of the fantastic job Ms. Schultz does in catching the reader up without making it seem like she is.
Tough, fierce women, their equally fierce, yet tender guys, cutting edge technology, and crimes that are very "now" (as in your might read about something similar in the news), puppies, great locations, and enough intrigue and action to make James Bond happy sums up Tamsen Schultz's work to a T. Yet it's more than that. It's loving your friends that have become family, relying on them when necessary, and having each other's backs. It's righting wrongs that power-wielding individuals perpetrate against those weaker or with less access to power or justice. Think James Patterson's Women's Murder Club on steroids and adrenaline.
Life in these books is just as I'd imagine a life full of danger and when not in danger, filled with loving life and celebrating the wins. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Pick up one of these books and prepare to lose yourself.
Thank you to the author and publisher for an ARC at my request. All thoughts are my own and very happily shared because I love these series!
Tamsen Schultz is an exceedingly good writer in this genre [as I suspect she'd be with any writing she chose to do]. This book particularly struck me by how well written it is.
I cannot go further without saying how clever I found Violetta's nickname to be -- Six. It was mentioned, barely in passing, and I was charmed.
The characters in this second book of the Doctors Club series interact in great ways, as the reader notices the people from the first book and the VP and his wife from the previous series. I find the relationships to be as equally appealing as the adventures, heroics and the issues addressed.
If you have not yet tried Tamsen Schultz's books, I recommend that you acquire as many of her titles as possible. In fact, I wish I had been able to binge read each series instead of waiting for the next installment. Now you have the option to try, beginning with any of her series. You do not need previous ones, however; this is a good one to start -- try CYN first so that you get a good feel for the four "doctors."
Thanks to the author for an ARC; my comments are my own. I do not summarize the stories, but I leave the great discoveries to future readers. You won't regret taking a chance, or revisiting this author.
Six is the 2nd novel in the series of The 4 Doctors and is also the name of the primary character. They are beautiful, wealthy, and highly intelligent and each is a female intelligence agent from a different country. Friends since boarding school in Switzerland, they are a close group working together with their unique skills to solve world problems. Although, in their official agent roles they can’t operate on US soil, they get caught up in some domestic issues that they pursue using their local covers, and these “bad ass girls” are not to be messed with. Since the author is a writer of romantic suspense, a romance develops over time. If it’s true to form, the new romantic interest will be present in the future books of the series. Six is loaded with suspense and intrigue as well as eliminating some very disreputable corporate and political players. I love the character development Tamsen uses in her stories and this one is a definite page turner.
The nail-biting and adrenaline-inducing suspense of the Doctors Club continues with Six's story. While investigating a friend's suspicious death, she gets 'help' from Gavin, a hot paralegal who's really a member of British Intelligence. The two of them get very up-close and personal with the villains - think hand-to-hand combat - and have to face their own demons and scars while bringing them to justice. The whole club is there to support them, as are characters from other series. Six is a fast-paced page-turner. My only niggle is that the romance part takes a back-seat to the suspense. There are a couple of kisses and that's it - they are destined to be together forever! It almost feels like an arranged marriage where the matchmakers do a good job and the couple decide to just give in and go along. I was fortunate to receive a copy of this book and leave this review voluntarily and honestly.
When Violetta Salviotto’s (aka Six) friend Jeremy gets killed under mysterious circumstances, Six and paralegal co-worker Gavin jump in to investigate. They are helped by the “Doctors Club” composed of four professional female friends : Six, Cyn, Nora, and Devil. They all trained together at the same school to become highly skilled agents working for their individual countries. Each woman also has a professional degree and all live and work in the Boston area. As they investigate Jeremy’s suspicious death, they encounter a supposedly “environmentally clean” cosmetics company is involved in money laundering, corruption and sex trafficking from Boston, New Hampshire to Indonesia. Additionally, there are hired killers silencing all witnesses and erasing all the evidence. This is the second installment of the Doctors Club series and it is truly an enjoyable rollercoaster ride!
I continue to *love* this series! There's the perfect mixture of personal exploration and growth and the tension of solving a looming mystery or crime.
I loved seeing some background on Six and Gavin and learning about the things they've suffered that created the mature, real adults that they've become. I'm so happy to find a series like this, where the drama doesn't focus on the romance (while developing the romance well) and instead the main characters learn to work together well.
The friendships between the Doctors Club women are the kinds of things I think most women hope for in life, and it's great to see their loyalty, support, capability and brilliance alongside their humility and real problems in life.
Another winner! In Book Two of the Doctors Club Series, Violetta Salvitto or Six takes the lead to solve the murder of an old friend. Action-packed, the friends discover a tangled web of intrigue, murder, greed, money laundering, and exploitation. I love how Schultz weaves her characters’ personalities. friendships, new relationships, and thought-provoking issues into stories that are compelling and entertaining. Looking forward to the next in the series.
Thank you for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
This is the second story from the Drs. club and can easily be read as a standalone. The series is so good though, that if you missed the first book, you'll want to catch up. This is Six's story. Her friend Jeremy is killed and she invites Galvin a paralegal to assist. This book really grabs the reader right from the beginning and is so good. It had it all for me..a great story line, suspense and nice steamy romance. A great read in my opinion.

four young women attended a very special private school together in Switzerland
Four close friends many years later live abroad and serve their respective countries, using their special skills
They once again face the unexpected death of a friend- and make some additional discoveries about the apparent plans of someone close to them, as they exercise duties- and sometimes caution
action packed suspense drama and intrigue with intense friendships and romance

This book is disappointing. Romantic suspense can be a great genre but this one was just awash in endless, minute dialogue that droned on.
The bad guys were very 2-dimensional and kinda mustache twirly at best.
And frankly, where was the romance part? The two leads were described as being attracted to each other. It just never played out. Oh, and if you were expecting any kind of sex, you can forget about that. One slightly heated scene in full clothing at about 83% is all you get. Bummer.
There are other stories in this series, but I'm stopping here.
Violetta, aka "Six" is a member of the Doctor's Club as well as a Federal Assistant DA. When a friend is killed in a hit and run, all is not as it seems. Not only does she have backup that she doesn't know about, could she possibly become a target for those looking to silence what her friend was working on? Could the backup she didn't know about be something more? Read and find out!
I absolutely loved this book and am loving this new series!
Six is up and her story is action packed. When an old friend is killed Six and the club take up the case he was working on. And it's an emotional and hard case to deal with. In the midst, it seems Franklin has been meddling again and Gavin is brought in. The chemistry is undeniable. Will he and Six be able to make things work? It's fun watching them try. This series is full of great characters, action, suspense, romance, humor, and meaningful cases. I can't wait for Devil's story!
Exciting romantic suspense. This group of lady doctors are slowly adding men to their club. It is fun to watch how the couple interacts. This was an interesting plot and cleverly crafted. I am eager to read the adventures and romantic involvement of the third doctor. Thanks to the author for providing a copy for my voluntary review.
Love, love, loved it! I was addicted to continue reading this book from the beginning, to the neglect of a number of household chores. But it was worth it. The characters dialog is fresh and fast paced as you follow along with the sparks of attraction flying between Six and Gavin, with Six holding back. I received a free ARC copy for an honest review.
Great book. The intrigue in this series is amazing. This story brings attention to a very real problem in many countries which are caused by greed and unscrupulous people in positions of power and wealth. The author does a fantastic job of writing a story that makes you feel like you are part of the characters lives.
The characters are ethnically diverse but highly trained and competent. This adventure finds them dealing with people with nasty personal habits, a goody two-shoes public image and a gunrunning sideline. Justice prevails, but not without a significant amount of mayhem along the way. Fast paced and fascinating.
This is the 4th book I've read written by Tamsen Schultz; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the 2nd book in the Doctors Club Series; it is a stand-alone book. The story is about Six & Gavin trying to figure out what really happened to Jeremy.
I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
There was not one page of this book I did not like. I smiled when I knew exactly what six was up to. Sorry her friend was not around to see the finishing touches on what he started. Hope we get to hear more about the girls. Can not wait to read the next book. I am anticipating war from the devil herself. As always keep writing and I will keep reading. Thank you.
Six is the second book in The Doctors Club Series and is a great romantic suspense read. The characters are intelligent and likable and the storyline captured my interest from start to finish with danger and romance. I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.
This is the second book I’ve read in this spy series . It has everything including suspense, torture, murder, corporate intrigue , a strong sisterhood, and even romance. I highly recommend this book.
This is the second book in this series. It is full of very enjoyable characters, great suspense, action, and some romance. I really love this book and this series. Very entertaining!!!
