I’ve been hiding for decades. Watching and waiting. Calling the shots while maintaining the ruse. Only I haven’t been cowering in the shadows… I’ve been in plain sight. Veiled by the church and faith. This collar gives me the perfect cover. No one has ever suspected the truth. Of who and what I really am. But it’s time to step from behind the cloth and into the light. Because Chicago is ripe for the taking. The families are warring. And now, I have an ally who will ensure my enemies will blow away in the wind this city is famous for with one little breath.
***Sloth is the thirteenth book in The Deadliest Sin Series about organized crime in Chicago. This series is best read in order, as the stories are chronological and each sin builds on the events of the previous one.***
Sloth is the story of Felipe and it has me more conflicted than ever! So many players in the game and not sure what comes next but I know it’s going to be nail biting, blow your mind good!
Gwyn definitely changed my mind on Rose but Felipe I just detest! He is a very deceitful, hateful man but omg I am dying to know what he knows! I want his secrets and can’t wait to learn them!
Gwyn McNamee delivers another gripping installment in The Deadliest Sin series with Sloth, a dark and thrilling dive into the shadows of Chicago’s criminal underworld. This book peels back the layers of a character who has been hiding in plain sight, using faith as a perfect disguise for his deadly ambitions. The tension is razor-sharp as alliances shift, old vendettas reignite, and the city becomes a battlefield for power.
McNamee masterfully weaves suspense, action, and psychological depth, keeping readers on edge with every twist. The writing is intense, the stakes are high, and the intrigue is relentless. As the thirteenth book in the series, Sloth builds on the chaos of its predecessors, making it a must-read for fans who crave an immersive, action-packed saga.
If you love crime fiction packed with deception, power plays, and morally complex characters, Sloth is a gripping addition that won’t disappoint. Just be sure to start from the beginning—this series is best savored in order!
Sloth is book thirteen of The Deadliest Sin series and wow, this series just gets better and better with every twisted turn. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is one of my favorite book series! With each book I read I get pulled deeper and deeper into the story and I can't wait to find out how the whole series ends. The characters in this book are intense and Felipe let's just say he's making me hate him and I love it! To me, when an author can make me hate a character that is a sign of a great storyteller and Gwyn McNamee is that in spades. From the great writing to the intriguing characters this is a fantastic read and after that ending I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Aaarrrrgh!!!!!! Talk about wanting to pull my hair out. There was more than one point that I could have picked up my jaw from the floor. It’s a short read (less than 90 minutes in total for me), but Sloth sure does pack a punch. Then, of course, it leaves you wanting more. I think that’s part of the whole intrigue and appeal to the series as a whole because you’re left wanting more, and just as you get it there’s something else that comes along that knocks you sideways.
I don’t know how, but the more I read about Felipe the more I hate him. He is a very vile and repulsive man! I am, though, very curious to find out what is so special about Rowan and what is going to go down in Chicago. There are still hopes for Rose and Kat, but I guess we will see how all that plays out. Sloth seems to leave you with more questions than answers to anything. Guess we just have to wait for the installment to hope for anything.
Everything comes at a price. Sloth is fire, it’s explosive, action packed and will leave you breathless wanting more. This is Ronan and Felipe’s story and it’s emotionally intense and will leave you questioning everything you know. So good and can’t wait for more.
Sloth is the 13th book in The Deadliest Sin Series. Gwyn McNamee keeps me twisted in knots. I never know what to expect. The story of Felipe and Rowan will turn you every which way but loose. At the end you will be craving more.
Sloth is the next installment The Deadliest Sin series, and Felipe has me in knots! The twists in this series continues to pull me in, and the tension between Felipe and Rowan continues to grow more intense! I just love this series!
The book is all about Father Filepe. How he is planning to take over. Rowan is hidden in his church to protect her. You can feel the sexual tension building. This series is so good.
Oh this was so good. I feel there is so much more to Father Felipe than we are yet to see? Hopefully and I can’t wait to see how Rowan is tied into all of this. Bring on Accepting Sloth
Sloth is the first novella in the Sloth Trilogy of the Deadliest Sin Series (#13) by Gwyn McNamee. A series of novellas about five organized crime families, starting in Philadelphia - moving into Chicago and how the seven deadly sins consume their lives.
“A collar that would serve a purpose until it no longer did.”
This is the story of Felipe and you know it’s a good read and a good author when you absolutely detest a character. ‘For even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.’ There’s another explosive twist, a new character comes into the fold and is rescued from her sinful life by Felipe. But I’m very curious to see why this new character is so special and how they’re going to play into Felipe’s ultimate plan.
“The truth shall set you free doesn’t apply to me or this situation, so there isn’t any use in uttering the words I’ve swallowed down for twenty years.”
Gwyn does a great job throughout The Deadliest Sin Series with plotting, character development, and pacing while continuously keeping us on our toes and begging for more.
This series just keeps surprising me. Felipe is getting ready to take over Rose’s position, but that is not going to go as smoothly as he once thought. I can’t wait to know what is up with Rowan, or to find out how Kat & Rose come through all of it. I was back to holding my breath wondering if someone was gonna to die. This author has no qualms about killing characters so I will be on pins and needles praying my favorites stay alive!
Just when I thought I couldn't dislike a character more than I already did, this addition to the series blew that right out of the water. Felipe is hands down the most vile of them all and I am here for it! I am looking forward to seeing what comes next, since once again I am left with so many questions. Grrr!
Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done
