Welcome to my little space out on the web. I'm Kenny Soward, and I'm an author, musician, and once IT guy. I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I'm influenced by authors such as Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Mark Lawrence, Dan Simmons, Robin Hobb, Robert McCammon, Larry Correia, and Mike Kraus.
I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.
I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.
My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.
Mega-eruptions have affected every part of the oceans between Australasia and across to the West Coast of America and caused major destruction to life and technology as tectonic plates move, causing massive rifts.
Geologist Ben Willard feels he has done all he can and has 'escaped' his Department of Defence position, as he's determined to get home to his struggling family. They want him, (and fellow scientist, Kay, back) as he's seemingly the only one with a realistic theory of what's causing it all. Who are Dan "Wild Man" Albers and Casey and what does he realise about the duo? What's going on with Mary and granddaughter Angel Willard, as they protect their homestead and Mary's badly injured husband Joe? And are Pam Willard and children Ty and Rose right in hoping to survive human dangers by camping in the woods?
You won't believe how realistic the possibilities for such deadly and dramatic events could be - unless you get your copy of Kenny Soward and Mike Kraus' epic survival thriller, Fracture, Book 3, Firewalk and get consumed with excitement, as you read it and find out what happens next!
Oh ho. Fires blazing in the California hills, as Ben and Kay on bikes flee the fires and Perez who’s after them in Viper Helicopter., shooting at them through the trees, he hit Kay in the arm, causing her on her bike to fall of the ridge down towards the flames, Can Bill save her, Angel, Grandma, and Grandpa who’s now conscious, are disturbed in their sleep by the khans and two more men, trying to get Angel. Pam, Ty and Rosie. Finally reach their Cabin to find squatters, a family who lived in a cabin near that had succumbed to the earthquake, Threatening to shoot Pam a whistle and he screamed as Rosie had aimed and fired an arrow knocking the gun out of his hand and wounding him. Things are hitting up
The Fracture series has exceptional EDITING! That's just a start of the list. There are plots, antagonists, protagonists, suspense, great character development, and descriptive language without profanity unless you consider teens using the word "hell". Also, no sexual scenes. Even with so many characters you don't get confused about who's being referred to. The book titles reflect the storyline and each chapter. states the main character involved, and the location of the event. I strongly recommend that you read this series! I would even recommend for high school or upper level junior high school readers.
Thank you for the recap at the start. This continues the attempts to survive widespread earthquakes, though it does focus more on the bad people who are chasing Ben and Kay and attempting to overwhelm the Willard ranch in Northern California. I still find it hard to swallow that a Lt Col would be in charge of this major project and would have enough carte blanche to get Ben at all costs, including the shooting of a young girl. Seems very sus to me.
I can’t believe I have the pleasure to read another outstanding story by these two authors. When mega eruptions happen in the oceans, everyone is in danger. Is there someone to help. I definitely binge read this one.
This third installment of the Fracture series continues the mounting challenges of the entire Willard family. Excellently told by Mike and Kenny. Very worthwhile reading!
Hope I dont have to wait too long for the next book. Look forward to seeing what happens to the idiot neighbour's the kahns and how will Ben get away and back to his family
As a geographer, I have been reading these books and looking things up on my map app. The descriptions of the different landscapes and regions is one of the things that has drawn me to this series.
This is a pretty good series about an apocalypse caused by weird sun activity that creates a series of earthquakes and volcanos across the world. I enjoy this type of fiction. I like to learn how the writer sets up things for folks to survive after TEOTWAWKI (the end of the world as we know it...).
