Ira is a Fixer, a child raised and trained to “fix” broken fairy tales by an organization the Fixers refer to as DeadEnd. Because, once you enter a fairy tale, there’s no getting out.

Ira has been assigned Neverland. You know Neverland, where Peter Pan lived because he didn’t want to grow up. Neverland, with fairies and pirates. Neverland, which has consumed thirty-one Fixers before Ira and has been dubbed “toxic” by the Operators of DeadEnd. But, Neverland needs to be fixed. It’s been toxic so long that every Neverland story in the real world is being transformed into something entirely not child-friendly.

Ira comes from a long line of Fixers. Every female in her family for four generations had been Fixers. She’d been at DeadEnd since she was seven. And when she was assigned her world, Ira was ecstatic. She studied every rendition of Neverland, loving the new adult twists. She was psyched to see what was in store for her.

But when she enters Neverland by falling endlessly through the stars, she is not at all prepared for how dark and broken it is. There are some children but the violence far outweighs the lighthearted, fun, make-believe she’d imagined. And Peter Pan… well, he was not at all a child anymore.

She was equally distributed to find that pirates, fairies, and mermaids were the least of her worries. And disheartened to discover that she has no idea what the true problem is. Where the toxin comes from. What had broken their fairy tale. Nevermind how to fix it.

However, Ira was not at all disappointed to be surrounded by wonderful men. All of which were big, gorgeous, and interested - except the elusive Pan. But who should she choose? Can she trust them? Will they help her fix their world or are they only interested in climbing into her bed? And why was there a weird lack of women in Neverland?

Everything seems endlessly messed up, and getting less clear as she moves along. It isn’t for quite some time that she realizes the fairy tale she’d been sent in to fix is actually infected by another…

Crea Reitan

Crea lives in upstate New York with her dog and husband. She has been writing since grade school, when her second grade teacher had her class keep writing journals. She has a habit of creating secondary, and often time tertiary, characters that take over her stories. When she can't fall asleep at night, she thinks up new scenes for her characters to act out. This, of course, is how most of her meant-to-be-thrown-away characters tend to end up front and center - and utterly swoon-worthy! Don't ask her how many book boyfriends she has...

When not writing, Crea is an avid reader. Her TBR pile is several hundred books high (don't even look at her kindle wish list or the unread books on her tablet). Sometimes, she enjoys crafting; sometimes, exploring nature; sometimes, traveling. Mostly, she enjoys putting her characters on paper and breathing life into them. Oh, and sleeping. Crea loves to sleep!

This is not the Neverland many of us readers grew up on as a kid. There are no fairy tale endings. Pirates are not the only thing that Peter Pan and the Lost Boys have to watch out for. There is something more evil in Neverland. This is where Ira comes in. She is a fixer. She is hoping to figure out what is wrong with Neverland and fix it before it is too late.

Shade rescues Ira. They share a connection that heats up. While Ira and Shade do share some hot moments; they were not exclusive. In fact, Ira and Shade were not the only ones that got action. I will never think of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys the same away again.

Speaking of Peter Pan...he is a bit of an acorn. I agree with another reader that he made me want to smack him. I look forward to reading the next book in this series to continue this journey with everyone. If you have not read the first book, I would suggest it as it will help you have a better idea of who everyone is and their relationships to one another.

Nevershade is the second book in the Neverland series. We continue reading about Ira's story as she tries to fix Neverland. We meet new characters like Shade and Eilidh that are from species we hadn't encountered in book 1. Ira and her men, alongside Coyote crew, live a lot of new adventures in Neverland, having to fight against a lot of enemies too. One might say that Pan is one of those enemies because his behaviour is just very infuriating and I might have wanted to punch him a time or two, but that's just me. It's also a testimony to Crea Reitan's writing skills that she makes her characters so real I want to physically harm them. Back to the story! Ira is also make progress with fixing her fairy tale as she forms theories about what has broken it in the first place.
I literally coudn't put down Nevershade until I was done reading it. It's just that good! If you have read Chronicles of Blood and Chronicles of Madness (Mal's adventures in Wonderland), I think you'll really appreciate this book. There are a lot of little references to things we learned in Wonderland that makes the whole thing even better, although it is not necessary to have read them to understand and appreciate the awesomeness of this series :)

So, Nevershade, the second part of the Neverland series, wasn't less interesting than the first. As the first, it ended with quite the shocking situation, without me knowing what will be next.

But that's what I like about all of Crea's books. It's never something I predict. Always with surprises and twists and turns. And I definitely love the new additions of men to Ira's group of men.

At this point, I fear, it will take until the last book, when she will finally come to some connection with Pan. But for now, it is ok. I mean, he doesn't make it easy for her to like him. 😂 I wanted to smack him a lot in this. Generally, I end up screaming at characters, when they do something stupid.

But I'm sure, once Pan comes around, their relationship will be explosive. I just wait for the moment to arrive.

Really, the story has me engaged at all times. I like the new bits and pieces and hints what the motives are about the fairy tale being broken and what happened. I have some suspicions of my own, and I'm all for finding out if I'm right.

And Eilidh is basically the same thing as Lane from Wonderland. Tho, I can't remember if Lane looked the same way. My notes on Wonderland are quite different from now, meaning the old ones are less detailed, and I haven't written down as much on appearance.

But it's alright. It not that important. It's just something I remembered. Generally, I have a lot of fun to read this.

And Shade is a sweet Shadow. I like him. And the new developments with Akule were great too. And bonds within the group. I like how they bond and become a coherent group.

I just was sad about what happened to Kasa. It's not the same as it was with Wonderland and Ahdem. But I liked Kasa. I had the feeling she could be a great friend to Ira. But alas, loss is an unfortunate part sometimes in Crea's book. I just hope, there isn't an Ahdem situation. I can't handle that again.

So, I will read the next book. 🙈😂

second book in a really good series

With the ending from book one still fresh in my mind, I couldn’t wait to see Ira find herself and the beast. To come into her own, the years of training should hold her in good stead.

Ira has collected a few men along the way, and it’s still ironing out her hate/hate relationship with Pan (boy there is some real tension there and it could go either way!) I get the feeling he’s jealous and so tries to discredit Ira and makes her life hard in general! He should be the one to save NeverLand and I think he’s jealous of the closeness Nev and Ira have (the lost boys are grown men with “needs”) She needs to find balance as this will be her home forever if she fixes the problems NeverLand have, or she’ll die trying! (Just like the other fixers before her have tried)

This book has dark elements that certainly weren’t in any fairytale I read about the lost boys and NeverLand.
The characters are well thought out, we also have merfolk, pirates, lost boys, faeries, and things that go bump in the night!
We have magic, we also have a little folklore thrown in.
We have moments between Pan and Nev which were so cute (Pan almost redeems himself with the way he feels about Nev) we have the fiery/antagonistic relationship with Ira and Pan, and then the relationship with Ira and Nev (which is going from strength to strength)

I like how we get inside everyone’s mind. Each being so different makes the characters easier to remember and to keep separate (lots of characters tend to make the book chaotic)

I’m really enjoying Ira's journey to "fix" Neverland and the help she finds along the way. (She’s getting quite the harem) 😉 I would definitely recommend you read book one first as there is lots going on.

Be warned the book ends really sudden, and on a cliffhanger!!

Book three please…..

Crea always does such a fantastic job with her twists on our beloved and well known fairy tales. I didn't think I would ever picture Neverland like Crea writes it, but I was sucked right into the story, feeling like I was experiencing everything right along with Ira and her crew. I feel like these books just keep getting better and better as the fixers are introduced to their own fairy tales.

Ira has certainly been busy in this book in more ways than one, adding new guys to her life, taking a stand against Pan, and linking all the little connections they missed in the previous book about the story of Little Red Riding Hood creeping its way into Neverland. What I love about Ira is that she is able to push Pan in a way that none of the lost boys ever dared. I have to admit, I still don't care for his character much at all. Some of his actions in this book really got to me and he didn't seem to be remorseful about any of it. If anything ever happens with him and Ira, it's going to be a slow build up with a clashing, thunderous combustion.

As for Little Red Riding Hood taking up a place in Neverland, I'm glad that the characters are taking Ira's thoughts on it seriously for the most part, even if they aren't familiar with the story. The little bits and pieces are coming together. The red cloak, the baskets, grandma, the paths that you shouldn't stray from. I'm excited to see this whole invasion fleshed out as more is revealed. At this point in the series, I think grandma is actually the wolf, preying on the little kiddies who view her so fondly. We'll see if my thoughts change as the story continues!

loved it

I have never been a big fan of the Peter Pan story growing up so I probably don’t recognize all the cameos and references in this story like others will but I still loved it. Ira’s journey continues as she attempts to figure out just exactly how her fairy tale has been infected and so far she seems to have a decent lead. The story flowed at a good pace in this book, it never felt boring or slow.

Like most of the work from this author, this book had more of a poly focus rather than a typical RH where there isn’t any MM. I love reading about different characters sharing love equally among several members of the harem. Akule is still my favorite but Shade and Eilidh are now my top 3 😍. Pan is still as much of a jerk in book 2 as he was in book 1 but I think he’s making small progress thanks to Nev. I can’t wait to see Pan finally give in and accept Ira into his life, I’m expecting fireworks.

I cannot recommend this series enough…even though I am not incredibly familiar with the original story of Peter Pan, it didn’t take away my enjoyment from reading this. If anything, it may be one of my favorite series this year.

Such an incredible sequel in the chronicles of Red. The addition and welcoming of new characters and the potential they bring to the story.

As the plot is slowly unfurling, the more intriguing the changes within story are. The rising suspicion and distrust towards increase as their actions are questionable.

The relationship between Ira and her men is so heartwarming and fluffy, it's adorable. The relationship between between Ira and Pan is setting up to be an amazing enemies to lovers as they continuously challenge each other, or it could turn to a betrayal which will destroy the group, or maybe they won't be together at all and they will reluctant acceptance and friends for their mural connection for Never.

More mysteries are revealed and I'll be excited to find their answers in the next book.

I'm so completely entranced by this world! Every book shows us a new side of Neverland and it's complex cast of characters. Her play on what we know from the books, and what it truly meant is perfection. I like Ira. She's tough, dedicated to her job, but open to what life has to bring. I admire the realness. She's not perfect, she makes mistakes, holds preconceived notions, and sometimes has to choke on her words.
Her relationship with Never is unfolding beautifully. Even though, I want to ring his neck from time to time. Never is in a tough spot. The past and future are butting head, and his heart belongs to two people who I think protest a little too much. Trying to fix the story is proving more complicated than Ira ever believed it could be as she struggles to get the story and the land straight.

First things first, Ira is a total bad ass. I love how she put Pan in his freaking place because he’s been acting crazy. I also really love Shade. He’s adorable. I also feel like as much as I like Nev, he should’ve been the one to take care of Pan, and all of his stuff along time ago. As predicted, little red riding hoods’s fairytale is tainting Peter Pan. The grandma been sketchy. Having read toxic Wonderland, I see that the dark Fae have entered the chat…days long sex ritual incoming lol (iykyk) I am super invested in this story and in all the characters…I physically have to stop myself from reading these books so I can make it to work on time. It’s even harder to put down with the cliffhangers 😩😩

Wonderful Adventure‼

The Second Installment of the Nevershade Chronicles was amazing. The adult tones and heat was off the charts! The world build, the drama, the magic, action, suspense, and it was steamy as you can get!🔥 The storyline picked up where the 1st book ended but it gets better and better! I highly recommend this 2nd installment, it does not disappoint. Crea's imagination is superb and this vivid story was fluid. As I was reading, it was playing in my mind! Read book 1, then this and you will be enthralled! You won't regret it.

Ira and her Guys!!!

This series is a lot easier to read then Mal and her serious. I was immediately able to understand where the story was going and not lost. I enjoyed Mal’s story but i was often lost and often wanted to end reading I’m glad I didn’t give up and eventually enjoyed the story but I loved Iras story so far. There was humor and sexy times which I loved and there was a bit of a cliffy, Ira does have some love competitions which only adds to the storyline c’mon book 3!!

Just keeps getting better

OK, so book 2 of 4 complete and the story just keeps getting better and more intriguing at each turn. There are so many twists and turns, clues and insights Into the characters, the story, the mystery, the break Ira is there to fix, and Pan.... Oh Peter Pan, what a frustrating, grumpy, childish, mysterious and utterly contradictory man.... What is he up to? I'm off to download book 3 now. I started book 1 less than 24 hours ago and I literally can't put this series down..... Its an utterly gorgeous conundrum of a story that I absolutely adore!

binge reading entire series in 2 days… excuse me as I skip sleep

Spice: 3/5

Ahh this has been great. Lots of things going on, without it being too much or being drug along. The characters are great, I can’t wait to see who all she ends up with.

I think I like this series more than I did the Wonderland series. Not that that wasn’t great, but areas felt slower, this story is much faster. However, I’d love the little list that’s at the end of Mals story, but we don’t have that here. I love the little bits that are the same in Mals story, shadelands, fae, unnamed etc.

I really enjoyed this book. This book took me away to another world during a very stressful week. This was just what was needed. It moves along at a great pace making for an easy read. It has interesting characters that you want to be there for and you cant help but love them. This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.

I love the direction the story has taken! Ira is a force and I love how she stands up to Pan. Ugh he’s insufferable! I love the new additions and the diversity each character brings to the story. She’s surrounded herself with powerful people and I know they’ll be able to help her fix Neverland! I cannot wait for book 3 to see what happens next and what’s discovered as they continue her mission.

As we fall right back into this world where Ira is trying to fix what is broken in Neverland. It picks up right after Neverwith. It is twisty and intense as we delve deeper in this world meeting new characters with Shade and Eilidh, new intrigue and so much more. There is an epic steam factor when it comes to Ira and the men in her life! There are little tidbits that had me questioning a lot and who has shown up in Neverland that shouldn’t be there. I think this may call for a read of past books in this author's backlist and I am 100% okay with that! With that being said, this was such a great story to read because of how different it was. Completely refreshes the mind and leaves you begging for more. I am so looking forward to what is to come!

Great

Great second book of this instalment. Love Ira and her men, in this story we get to see more of their personalities and the dynamics forming in their group. Pan needs a good slap… he’s definitely up to something and sabotaging Ira’s efforts to fix Neverland.
Can’t wait for the next one!

Holy pineapple

She did it again! Omg this was beyond amazing and the only thing of complaint I have is she stated only three books. I don't like nor want that. 😭 There's so many obstacles and restraints going on that it just gets curiouser.

I love how Ira doesn’t take any crap from anyone, not even Pan. No door mat there. The possible issue they discover is interesting. And her new men are definitely different. This does end on a cliffhanger.

Another thrilling instalment loaded with sexual tension, loads of action and few flurries of fights between our heroine and Pan.

Could another fairytale be encroaching on Neverland? Who is grandma really? She’s not all what she seems.

We’re left on a bit of a cliffhanger again as Ira accompanies Livirt to his home under the sea, where they find it deserted! What is going on!

Well I’ll just have to read the next book to find out!

Another amazing installment in the Neverland: Chronicles of Red series; as with all of Crea’s books, it sucked me in and I couldn’t put the book down.
I came into Nevershade so stressed and I was thankful for the calm and sweetness that is Shade. Getting to witness Ira outside of her mission and the rest of her guys was fun for a bit too. But once they’re all together, it’s just magic. I love the depth of the characters and their interactions, how Ira is building her own crew and they’re all working to fix Neverland. I’m so excited to see what happens with the merpeople, the crews, Ira and her men!

Book two in this awesome series and it carrys on from where book 1 left off. I think the storyline is really interesting, so cleverly done. It has some of everything in it, drama, danger, excitement, romance and humour. We get to meet some new characters and get to know existing characters better. The writer keeps you glued to the page, it’s a real page turner and I am so excited for the next book. I thoroughly enjoyed this awesome read
