What, How, Why, and When of Bitcoin Fundamentals

I knew most of the stuff in first part of the book about why it matters, why it's changing the world, how it works, etc. But the last part really changed my perspective on what to with Bitcoin Long-term and how many rich people treat it. Go long term; never sell; borrow against it, etc. I also really loved how he addressed the biggest criticisms, showing Misty of them are sensationalized ignorance including concerns about the energy consumption objections and environmental concerns for Bitcoin. I am now convinced Bitcoin is here to stay, it will always be the dominant and primary Blockchain, and like the overall market, long term it will always increase in value.

There are certainly more technical sources one could read, but this covers the key ideas well enough for the vast majority of people in a way most people can understand. And why this matters worldwide.

Chris Brady has done it again! Brady has the uncanny ability of taking a very complicated, complex topic (in the case cryptocurrency and Bitcoin) and presenting it in very understandable terms. Written as a novel, this book is for anyone who wishes that they understood more about Bitcoin but are completely overwhelmed by the perceived complexity of technical and financial aspects of this and other cryptocurrencies. Brady takes you on a wonderful journey through the Italian countryside while at the same time explaining the underbelly of Bitcoin in simple and easy to understand terms. Do yourself a favor and get this book now and read it. It will change your perspective!

If you’re interested in Bitcoin, look no further! “The Bitcoin Bride” was a fascinating introduction to cryptocurrency and specifically Bitcoin, the first decentralized currency. It was absolutely brilliant to package an explanation of the complicated world of bitcoin (which involves history, economics, computer science, and more) in a sweet love story set in Italy. The balance of technical information and storytelling is very well done and engaging, and that’s saying a lot coming from someone who had close to no prior knowledge of economics, much less Bitcoin! I think this should be required reading in college (or high school, for that matter)!

A young man is going to meet the parents of his girlfriend in Italy & wants to ask her father for his permission to marry her.
The dad sets a condition upon getting his approval...Marcus (the young groom-wanta-be) will teach the Dad (Giulio)all about Bitcoin, which is Marcus' business. IF Marcus can convince Giulio the value & sustainability of bitcoin as a business, he'll give permission.
Marcus goes into the history of money in general & fiat money in particular, & what the problems are, & about Bitcoin is the perfect solution to fiat money & its continuous through inflation.
It's a fictional story, but it tells valuable information for the uninformed & uneducated re:Bitcoin.
The U.S. & other countries are paying a lot of attention to Bitcoin & are working on developing a similar type currency; a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency). This book points out the problems with a CENTRALIZED digitization of money & how it's even worse than the fiat money system we currently operate on in this world (not just the YS.
I have heard bits & pieces about Bitcoin for a couple of years & want to learn more, & this book was recommended to me by some friends.
I'm glad I read it; I learned a lot! There's more I want to read to understand it even more before I decide if it's something I want to be involved with. Its a bit over my head in a few places, as Marcus & some friends/business partners spend time w/Giulio to teach him.
I
feel that a good beginning to understand the basics of Bitcoin. I'd give it a higher rating if I understood the more technical aspects of being involved as an investor or a miner, etc.

I read 'Exposed: the Financial Matrix' by Orrin Woodward last summer. If a person wants to really get a very good understanding of the history of money & how the "elite"...the rulers; Presidents, Kings, Dictators, etc., along with the bankers, have ALWAYS devalued their money as a means of controlling the people & acquiring more wealth & power for themselves. We can see the truth of this book & PERHAPS some solutions being played out here in the United States this psst year & currently.
Woodward & Brady are previously NY TIMES best selling authors individually & together. They have been friends & business partners for many years and are currently the CEO & President of Life Leadership, a company that teaches financial literacy to the common person.
--BOTH books are Highly recommended!!--

An easy-to-digest explainer of Bitcoin in a story format. The story is mostly just a wrapper to set up Bitcoin conversations/expositions in a more natural, casual setting.

As a source of understanding the Bitcoin information, it's a pretty decent overview of the various important facets of Bitcoin (the economic environment that creates the need for it, how it works/what it actually is, what's the value of Bitcoin to the world, common objections, etc). It obviously doesn't get too into the weeds with any one topic, but of course, something like this isn't the destination - it's meant to start the discussion and ultimately encourage further exploration.

There's always a trade-off between readability and information presentation in something like this. You can't spend that much time developing the characters or story (because that's not the point), but you also can't get too bogged down in the Bitcoin information presentation (because that's, funnily enough, also kinda not the point. Has to be presentable, and not overwhelm the reader). It's an awkward line to straddle, and Brady does a decent balancing act.

So this book ultimately has its' place and use. As Brady mentions in the Afterword: filling this niche of "approachable and easy to read book about Bitcoin" you could give to a layperson to answer common questions - that was exactly the goal here. Since that's the case, it's a job well done.

Chris Brady has written a wonderful primer on Bitcoin! He has chosen fiction as the medium to provide a very relatable teaching story.

Starting off with a little romance, "the Bitcoin Bride: A Rascal Money Story" follows the protagonist as he asks his girlfriend's father for her hand in marriage. The father makes a deal, teach him about Bitcoin and he will consider approving the engagement.

The story is well-written and provides a very understandable education into what Bitcoin is, why it is unique, and how it works! This is excellent guide for people who know next to nothing about the world of crypto currencies. I am recommending it to all my friends and family.

This is the book that taught me about BTC (bitcoin.)
Chris Brady takes the reader on a quick adventure where we follow a young man to Italy so he can ask her father for a woman's hand in marriage.
In the course of things he explains, to the father and to us, how BTC works.
My favorite way to learn most things, and, I think, the future of learning, is through fiction and this book is technical enough to inform and has enough story mixed in to keep you turning the pages.
You'll likely enjoy and learn from this book.

Just as with any book on technology, it was out of date the day it was published, but still contains a lot of valuable background and insight into Bitcoin wrapped up in a cute story.

Answered my questions about bitcoin in an entertaining fashion, although I tended to skip over parts of the fictional storyline.

A noble effort by Brady, it can tend to drag in some of the technical details laid out in the book. BUT, if you want a primer on Bitcoin (laid out in a cute and enjoyable romance novel), this is for you.

I picked this up due to my familiarity with the author's work and learned quite a bit about the concept, use, and intent of Bitcoin, as well as how it is used and transacted, as well as its initial misuse as a black market medium of exchange, and its current misuse as an investment tool.

And the open ending that leaves the hint of a sequel is disappointing.

I would recommend this, though, to anyone who would like to learn about Bitcoin, as well as other cryptocurrencies, in a light and non-technical read.

This is a wonderful book for people who are like me, and know next to nothing about Crypto Currency. The author teaches using an entertaining and gripping love story. You’re drawn farther into learning just to see how the lives of the people turn out.
Other than a few podcasts, I was almost totally ignorant about Bitcoin when I picked up the book. Now I am eager to learn more about it, and even invest in it.
