Patti Sanchez teaches us how to develop deep empathy in a medium as intimidating as remote meetings. Not only that, but she also goes over the nuances and techniques that can make us master communicators.

If this were the only book on the subject, I might have rated it higher. As it is, however, half of it is about presenting as such, no matter whether in person or online. The rest is about presenting virtually, though there’s little novelty value.

Still, a few points made me think:
- Setting up: Get a soft overhead light as well as a desk lamp that provides “fill lighting.”
- Planning: Linear presentations with limited audience interaction might as well be prerecorded.
- Writing: Aim for 5 to 7 words per slide.
- Speaking: To sound authoritative, use a lower pitch; to come across as approachable, try a higher pitch.

Can't day I learned anything new but very well presented and great citations as usual by anything by Duarte

This book was OK, but it wasn't quite as strong as Slide:ology in terms of focusing on the presentation materials. I did appreciate the additional content on video/audio concerns.

Everything I needed to know, and nothing I didn’t - and all laid out logically so that I can easily refer back to it again and again in the future.
After presenting virtually for two years, I look forward to incorporating some new ideas presented in this book.
