I’m the world’s biggest bad boy. She’s the town’s do-gooder. We’re the last people who should be friends.
I left my small hometown the morning after my high school graduation. Seven years later, I’m now a famous model.
When I’m caught with my pants down—literally—my agent temporarily banishes me from public. I end up back home—where I swore I’d never return.
But the place has changed since I left. The brothers I’ve missed have moved on without me. And everyone thinks I’m a selfish prick.
There’s one thing that’s remained the same, though. My old classmate, Margaux. We hurl insults at each other after I’m unintentionally rude to her, then later discover we’re working together on a project for the elementary school.
Turns out, though, that this isn’t the only project Margaux’s been volunteered for. The whole town is practically taking advantage of her. And she’s too nice to decline.
Infuriated, I convince her to create a revenge bucket list. She lists the people who’ve wronged her. I choose the harmless revenge.
But Margaux doesn’t just want to learn to stick up for herself. She wants a friendship with me, too. One that comes with many benefits.
And while I’m all for the curvy blonde, I worry about one thing. If I give in to her steamy demands now, what happens when I inevitably leave?
HELLION is a 102K word steamy small town contemporary romance that has a little bit of suspense, an absolutely hilarious first chapter, a bunch of hot brothers, and one yummy but very naughty hero. Steer clear if you don’t like dirty-mouthed boys! NOTE: This book deals with loss and feelings of inadequacy/self esteem issues, as well as some bullying. It might not be for everyone. While this is a standalone book, you may get more out of it by starting with book one (LUSH.) Enjoy!
Harry is a man of many layers. To pretty much everyone he is a bad boy, including to his own family. No one knows the real Harry, because he won’t let anyone through the massive walls he has built around himself. After seven years, he is back in the town he grew up in thanks to a scandal. Margaux never left town, she went to school with Harry. She wants to make everyone else in her life happy, even if it may not be something she enjoys.
The moment Harry and Margaux cross paths again there is some insane chemistry between the two of them and really that chemistry only continues to grow hotter as their story continues. I absolutely loved the banter between the two of them. The back and forth was amazing. I loved how perfect the two of them are for each other. I love that they are both able to open up to each other, learn from each other and support each other.
Harry’s reasons for leaving all those years is truly heartbreaking and had me in tears. I felt for him so much when he finally let the truth out. I love the support and the love he had from his brothers. I loved all the brothers in general and just their relationship with each other. Their conversations together were priceless and hilarious at times.
If you’re looking for a small town, friends to lovers romance this is one to check out.
“I get to be whoever I want with you. I get to be what I want to be.”
Hellion is my first book in this series and I LOVED it. I wasn’t lost by not having read about the other’s brothers, but I definitely plan to go back and read their stories. Harry and Marguax were so much fun and were an unlikely albeit perfect match for each other.
“No one—no one, Harry—has cared enough to bother before you. No one cares that much.”
Marguax is an absolute sweetheart. She’s a people pleaser and is always trying to do whatever she can for others even at the expense of her own happiness. With Harry’s help, she learns how to stand up for herself and fight for what she wants.
“It’s like she was meant for me, or I’m meant for her, or both.”
Harry is the prodigal brother who returns home in scandal. Although most think he only cares about himself, he’s truly one of the most unselfish, loving man who secretly only wants to make things easier for others. His reasons for leaving town are heartbreaking and emotional.
Harry and Marguax are perfection together. Their banter had me laughing out loud and their chemistry lit my kindle on fire. They are electric! Plus they truly bring out the best in each other and help each other grow into their true selves.
I devoured this book and I was so sad to see it end. As I said, I haven’t read the other books in this series, but I plan to remedy that very soon.
Finally Harry has returned!!! I was so pumped when K.D. told us we were getting Harry’s story. Harry’s been the elusive brother for so long and to finally get his story and find out why he’s stayed away for so long was AMAZING.
Harry has a bad boy persona, one that he puts on for the world. Nobody truly knows the real Harry, not even his brothers. I was seriously heartbroken about his relationship with his brothers. They’re all they have left, but when Harry skipped town, he may have felt like he was doing the right thing, but leaving his brothers and staying gone for so long crushed them. Watching him try to navigate that rebuild was seriously heart wrenching at so many points.
As for Margaux, I ADORE her!! She’s just what Harry needed. She sees the real Harry, not just the public persona he puts out there. She helps him so much, and in return she comes out of her own shell as well. The town do-gooder learns to get some backbone. The two of them together are the perfect definition of opposites attract.
This entire story is honestly like Harry’s redemption story. He had a lot of making up to do, and wrongs to right, and K.D. gave us his story in an utterly perfect way! I need more from the entire King Family!!
Book three of the King Cousins series can be read as a standalone. It is written in first person from an alternating dual POV.
Harry returns home after seven years with little contact with his brothers. He finds that he has missed a lot of what has been going on in their lives in addition to not sharing what has happened in his. Though he is famous, Harry is lonely. Margaux was in his school class, and she is tied to the small town of Ovid more than she wants to be. When Harry returns, there are fireworks between them. I love the friendship they form and the heat between them is divine. They have fun in a lot of ways and bring out the best in each other. I adore how vulnerable Harry is with her and how Harry makes her feel braver and more in control of her life.
Harry must work to regain the relationships with his brothers. There were several scenes where I laughed out loud at their antics. This small-town family has all the feels and I loved reading Harry and Margaux’s story.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.
Hellion is the perfect blend of some of the things I love in a romance, and it's truly amazing!
Harry came back with a storm and easily stole the spot of my favorite King brother (sorry Noah! ) I mean this man is so swoony I swear and not only that but he is just hurt and wears this mask to hide his true feelings. And gosh the guilt he has been dealing with all on his own that kept him away from his brothers, for seven years, who he loves so deeply absolutely broke my heart! And I actually cried which I didn't expect at all.
Margaux is sweet, sassy and bold as heck, and the one who saw the real him. I adore her and how she took the first move, it was so damn refreshing. And I just LOVE how Harry brings her wild side out! She's always been the good girl of the town but she's so done with that and goes after what she wants!
Harry and Margaux are truly amazing together, the tension right off the bat is just everything. The chemistry between them is through the roof and the growing emotions had my heart. They, and this book, are the perfect balance of sweet, hot, fun and feels; absolutely adored it!
"I love you. I can't live without you. I've been miserable apart from you."
*I received this ARC from the author but the thoughts are completely my own.*
I received an ARC of this book and this is my own honest opinion of it.
Having read the previous books in this series I always wondered why Harry wasn’t in Ovid. I’m so happy to have read his story and all about the reason he left there.
To start I wasn’t sure I was liking Harry. His character wasn’t at all what I thought he would be but thankfully he grew on me and reading his backstory was so sad. He missed out on so much having been left Ovid for 7 years without ever returning until now.
I really liked Margaux from the start, she was so selfless but this meant lots of people took advantage of her.
The story and character development in this book was really good. There were some steamy scenes and some pretty intense moments between Harry and his siblings. I enjoyed the story, it wasn’t predictable at all and had a few little twists I wasn’t expecting.
All in all a good read, but to enjoy at its best, read the other King Cousins books first.
These King Brothers are simply EVERYTHING!! KD Elizabeth has given us yet another attention grabbing book, with everything you need and didn’t even know you wanted.
Harry is home! He’s been gone for 7 years and only he knows the real reasons why. His brothers think they know but only Margaux has looked past the act and sees the real Harry and takes the time to get the answers to the questions.
This is an emotional story that has so many things, there is so much steam, there’s laugh out loud moments, and there’s so much heart! KD makes you fall for these brothers, and trust me you are going to fall, but the real question is, which one will you fall for? 😉 Read them all and decide for yourself!
I have been a fan of K.D. Elizabeth’s The King Cousins series. I was excited to dive in with Hellion. There is a lot of emotion and past mistakes that convey through this story. The redemption that the characters have to go through make you root for them through and through, I really enjoyed this book and continue to love this series.
Hellion is a story that will have you wanting more. And the ending will keep you smiling! This is a great weekend read!
