We shared an incredible night as strangers.
But now we're stuck working together.

I like being the center of attention.
That works out well when I own the only bar in town.

One night she struts in and the whole bar stops.
Beautiful women like her don’t visit my tiny town.

I instantly want her.
She definitely wants me.
As soon as the bar closes, we go at it like animals.

We thought that would be the last time we saw each other.
But now there’s one little problem.

I’m starting my own bourbon label.
And I just lined up a huge presentation with a distributor.

To my surprise, the woman I’m presenting to isn’t some corporate nobody.
She’s the sexy-as-sin woman from the bar.

She holds my company’s future in her hands.
One word from her and my dream dies.

She’s horrified she slept with a potential client.
And all I can think about is how glorious it felt being inside her.

She doesn’t think we can remain professional.
But she’ll be here for a whole month.
And you know what they say …

The best business is always mixed with pleasure.

Lush is a full-length, 92,000 word steamy, Southern small town, workplace romance. It’s part of a series about a bunch of hot brothers and features a naughty bartender with an absolutely filthy mouth. You can jump into the series here without having read the others. There is no cheating and it has a HEA.

Omg, this book was BEYOND fun to write!! Nathan is completely ridiculous and I so much loved writing all of his sexual innuendo. I'd never say any of that in real life so it was super fun to write it in his book. All of his scenes in the previous books were super fun because of that silliness so writing his internal dialogue was ridiculously fun.

Jude is a tough cookie, which made her the perfect foil for naughty Nathan. This is the first time I wrote a hookup in the beginning of the story, and it was really fun to see how the characters interacted after realizing the consequences of that hookup!

I also loved writing Northwood. No spoilers, but he's Jude's boss and he had such a fascinating personality. This book wouldn't be what it is without Charles Northwood.

A note on the series info: I originally wrote the first draft of this two years ago (2019). At the time, I had already published the first three books, which were around 30K and featured Jackson's, Axel's, and Griffin's stories. They are single POV from the hero's perspective. Originally, Nathan's story was around 40K and from just his POV as well.

I put the draft aside for many months and when I came back to it, my writing style had changed, so I decided to expand the story and write it in dual POV to better fit my more current work. It's now 92K and we get Jude's POV as well.

Since that's quite the departure from the other three books, I decided to make this the start of a new series for consistency's sake. So you can either read the first three, which are now prequel novellas, or you can jump in at this story, which will explain the major events from the other stories, anyway. So, this book is both the fourth in the original series and the first of a new one.

That being said, there are a lot of easter eggs (clues/hints) in this story about what happened in the other stories. You'll get to experience previous events again from a different character's perspective, which was fun to do but also required a ton of organization on my part to keep all the events occurring in the correct order. The epilogues are also linked together, so if you start with Monster, you will see the epilogue story unfold as a kind of second story (they're all standalone, though).

I really enjoyed writing this book, and I hope you have just as much fun reading it. I'll see you soon for the next book in the series.

I always forget how filthy K.D. Elizabeth books are and that is absolutely not a complaint. I’ve read a few of her other books and yet somehow, I’m caught off guard every time but again, that is absolutely not a complaint. It’s high praise, honestly.

Lush is Book 4 of the King Brothers series, and I do recommend reading them in order (even though I never do because I’m chaotic). I had read the first two and somehow missed book 3? So I had a bit more background with who everyone was, however, even with missing a book I didn’t feel like I’d missed anything or had to figure too much out while reading through Lush, so if you want to go out of order like I somehow always seem to do, you’d be fine. You will want to go back and read the others though, that I can promise you.

Lush was great. It was fun, it was dirty, it was hilarious, and Nathan is one heck of a book boyfriend. He’s a major goofball with a lot of depth, and I think he might actually be my favorite of the brothers? I don’t know, I feel a strong pull to Noah, too, so this statement may change, but so far I think I absolutely love Nathan the most. Nathan’s light and breezy attitude balanced out really well with Jude’s dark and stoic demeanor, and it was great seeing how well they complement one another. She was all hard edges and rules, and he was all loosey and laughter, and together they made for one heck of a team. (In and out of the bedroom). The story was great, even if it did get a bit lengthy in spots, and all of the twists and turns kinda hurt my brain, but it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment. I didn’t love that lot of the issues hung on some miscommunications, but I’ve come to expect that from most romance novels these days, so I just kind of rolled with it. Ultimately, everything included was for a reason and by the end, I wanted to be Jude’s best friend, so I think it all worked out pretty well. The character growth K.D. Elizabeth managed to sneak into this story was aces, and I can’t wait to see what she brings us next.

All that to say, if you love goofball heroes, outdoor promiscuity, and brilliant heroines, then this book is for you.

{Many thanks to the author for my review copy!}

A fun swoon-worthy story with amazing chemistry between the characters!

Nathan is super cocky and witty but also so sweet. He cares for his brothers before anything else. Jude is a total cinnamon roll and despite of all the loss she's had to live with, she is tough and sassy. She also knows how to hold her ground.

They had one incredible night together as strangers at a bar Nathan owns and now that they're working together, her being the distributor for his own bourbon label, Jude wants to keep it completely professional. That doesn't stop Nathan from doing everything he can to show her how they simply can't deny the pull they have towards each other.

The flirtatious banter between Nathan and Jude is the best; it's absolutely hilarious and had me giggling. I might have blushed a bit here and there with Nathan having no filter whatsoever, haha. Both are a little dominant and I love how they keep challenging each other continuously. It makes their dynamic even better. Although Nathan and Jude are extremely hot, they're also so freaking adorable. Jude is just the girl Nathan needs in his life and vice versa; you can truly feel it through the pages. I adore them both so much!

This book completely consumed me; I didn't want to stop reading. There's also some drama that made it even more addicting, making me wanting to know how it will unfold. The family dynamic is also so strong and I adore the bond that the King brothers have with each other. Being orphans they are there for each other no matter what. Sometimes they may need a little slap in head to make some sense into their equally stubborn personalities but at the end of the day they're such gentlemen. I love how it all balances out with the romance brilliantly.

Lush is not only steamy but also heartfelt, touching and passionate and I adored it with my whole heart!

"You're it for me. There's no one else. There's never going to be anyone else."

*I received this ARC from the author but the thoughts are completely my own.*

Full disclosure, I haven't read the other books in the King Brothers series but after reading this, you bet I'm going back and reading the other three books. I fell in love with not only Nathan but the entire King brood. I especially liked how the other storylines interconnect within this one and I'm sure that's no easy feat so I commend K.D. for being able to pull that off.

I really loved and enjoyed this book. It was light, sexy and mischievous. Much like our hero Nathan who is just so loveable, witty and so dirty mouthed. I love a dirty mouthed hero. I felt like he was such a nice compliment to our heroine Jude, who is all cool and businesslike but she can't resist his charm. Their banter was just top notch and they were so playful together. I love it!

I also really liked that this was a small town romance and actually felt like a small town. We have all the quirkiness and familiarity we all enjoy in these romances. Heck there's even a bar fight with old gossipy church ladies. There was just such a sense of community (except for that douchebag of a bank owner!) and I really, really enjoyed that.

The book just had it all. It was touching and incredibly steamy but fun at the same time. We had some corporate espionage going on in the way of Jude's distributing company wanting to buy Nathan's bourbon and of course there are some shady dealings with that plot line. It was just such a great read and am so thankful to be able to read an ARC of this wonderful book. I can't wait to back and read the entire series and the ones to come in the future.

K.D. Elizabeth has done it again. This girl can write a beautiful entertaining love story. Jude and Nathan kept me on my toes the entire book. I wasn’t sure if they would get together or not. They share one night of passion and I mean, the sparks flew off the pages with these two! I was rooting hard that they get together right then and there. However, all the sudden you find out they need to work together, Nathan is trying to distribute his own line of alcohol and Jude works for the company attempting to help put the line out. Talk about conflict of interest times four hundred. What do they do now? They can’t be together and complete the mission at hand, getting Nathan’s product completed. And Jude is nervous because this is her job on the line. But their chemistry is undeniable.

This book was entertaining and definitely had the elements of will they won’t they get together. One of the best parts of the book too is Nathan has a twin brother Noah, who is looking out for Nathan, making sure Nathan’s deal is legit and Jude is not trying to pull one over on him. In doing this Noah has a little fun with Jude. The book was hot, well written and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time needing to know where their relationship would go.

This is a must read steamy book. Both Nathan and Jude had so many layers to their characters that it made you want to keep reading to find out what would happen with them next. K.D.’s writing is phenomenal. She brings the passion and fun with this book, but throws in serious elements that make you want to keep reading and reading. Highly recommend.

Absolutely adored this story!! I’m so glad we got a full-length novel for Nathan! Don’t get me wrong, I loved the first three King Brothers books, but I really loved that we get dual POV in this story. Jude’s thoughts and words really add another layer to this amazing story!

Nathan may be my favorite of the King boys at this point. He’s gorgeous and the things that come out of his mouth made me blush just reading this book! Jude is an amazing heroine. She is independent and she’s not afraid to go after what she wants. Nathan is rarely ever serious, and Jude can sometimes come across as uptight, but the two of them bring out the most amazing sides of each other.

Watching them…well let’s be real, mostly Jude, try and keep their relationship platonic and professional was hilarious at times. The back and forth between the two was hysterical and their chemistry was white-hot! I loved everything about this story, and now I’m super intrigued about the rest of the King family especially Noah! Well done K.D. Elizabeth, I’m so ready for what you’ve got in store next!

4.5 star review of  Lush (The King Cousins #1)(The King Brothers #4) by K.D. Elizabeth

Having read the previous books in the King Brothers series, I really couldn’t wait to read Nathan’s story. He has cracked me up in the other books so I knew that his book would be something else again.
I also knew that the woman who would bring him to his knees would need to be someone special and Jude is certainly that. She can give as good as she gets and could easily hold her own, particularly with Nathan. Not only that but the secondary characters, were just as entertaining.
Set in a small town, a genre I really enjoy reading, K.D.Elizabeth created a story with a great deal of humour and witty banter. It was fun to watch as Nathan and Jude try to ignore the chemistry and attraction between them, neither wanting to cross the line from professional to personal, although once they do cross the line, there is no turning back.
The push and pull of their relationship was fun to read about.

Lush is book 4 in the King Brothers series. This was a good read.

Nathan is hilarious, a goofball, and has a light attitude. He is a talented business owner who is following his dreams. He really did balance out Jude's dark and stoic demeanor. She is also a strong and successful business woman. She is a very strong woman who is hard and liked to follow the rules, while he was more fun and laughter. They made a great team and was great seeing them together. It was a great story, had some twits and turns and it was a bit long in some parts but it didn't take to much of the story away.

There was defiantly some steam and a lot of humor. It was a great read and would recommend reading the other books before this one. Just so you have the background and don't get confused.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I enjoyed this small town, work romance. Jude never expected her one-night stand to be the very person she was supposed to be meeting for a business deal the next day. As much as Jude wanted to put their past behind her, Nathan had other plans. No one could deny their chemistry.

I will admit I felt a little lost at times due to the fact there were so many characters and I have not read their books. I loved how determined Jude was, however, Nathan wasn't my favourite character if I am honest. Now don't get me wrong, he was sweet and funny however he was a little too forward and cocky for my liking! Sorry!

Overall I did enjoy this read and it was extremely well written. I would like to thank the author for a copy of this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

Just keep these swoony King brothers coming! So far this is the longest book in the series but the story calls for it.

Hello Nathan, let’s talk heartthrob, so yes he’s hot, and funny and phenomenal in bed, but he’s also more, as with all of KD Elizabeth’s characters, he is vulnerable, he is more than one thing, he’s all the things, and that his why he flipped Jude’s world on its axis.

This story has everything you want, there is drama, some corporate espionage, lots and lots of steamy sex, and the base line of this whole series FAMILY. Because that is what is the most important thing to walk away with as you read these. The King brothers are always there for each other.

I love how this timeline is throughout each of these books, we just get to see what each one is doing at each particular time. I can not wait for Noah and Harry’s stories!!

If you need to keep track here’s the order so far:

Monster (Jackson)
Devil (Axel)
Rascal (Griffin)
Lush (Nathan)

Lush turned out to be so much more than I expected. I’ve already come to love K.D. Elizabeth’s ability to tell a story, but this one really took me by surprise. Firstly, Lush is the fourth book in a series that started way back in 2019 and is kind of going through a revival, which I hadn’t realized while I was reading Lush. It was only after I had finished it and was looking at reviews, which I always wait to look at until after I’ve read something, when I realized it had three other books before it.

“Whooo boy. This presentation is going to be ten thousand times better than anticipated. I haven’t had this much fun in months. I might have to see just how much innuendo I can slip into this conversation before Jude completely blow a gasket.”

I want to start this review by complimenting the author on how well the story line flows as well as how quickly she captivated me as a reader into the lives of the main characters Nathan King and Jude Shaw. Within a chapter I was already invested and placing bets mentally on how this was all going to play out. I’ll tell you in retrospect I was wrong, which is another reason her writing ability astounded me. Writing a story that not only captures you from the first chapter but continues to unfold in ways you don’t see coming allows you to really get lost in the story itself.

Now onto discussing the plot and characters. This is a story about the small town of Ovid, Georgia where the King brothers live. One of the brothers, Nathan King is developing a new bourbon and wants to launch his own drink that he’s designed and been making in secret for a while now. He’s set up a meeting with one of the biggest distributors around and he’s ready to go. But a one night fling between two strangers turns out to be none only then the woman there for their partnership meeting. YIKES!

But no worries, they’re both professionals with an incredible level of heat between them so they agree that they can manage their attractions, have some fun AND continue working together. But things quickly get complicated and there are a lot of feelings involved by this point. You’ll get to meet the entire King family and intimately get to know what they’re all about as well as how important family is to these guys.

Jude on the other hand, brings a completely different perspective to the table coming from a wealthy and emotionally distant family that treats her absurdly. Let’s just say that many of these dynamics plays a huge role in the whole story development and it gets INTENSE as the story goes on.

“Well, well, well if it isn’t the mystery woman, herself. I had quite the delectable dream about you last night. You were wearing the most delightful cowboy hat – and nothing else. Exquisite.”

Let’s talk a little about the HEAT level in this one because I’d say it’s a 5/5 for heat. There are lots of interactions and they’re all unique and purposeful. I’ve read a lot of romance novels where the heated itneractions can be overdone or unnecessary in certain places where they take place, but K.D. Elizabeth has really mastered this technique of places lots of sexual tension, build-up with it being a barrier or leaving you wanting for more. Scenes are peppered throughout the entire story and are completely relevant to the story at that point in time. Plus they’re incredibly HOT! I mean, Nathan and Jude and like #partnergoals for their ability to both take charge, enjoy themselves and even act out their own fantasies!

Available March 27th everywhere and I highly recommend this one for fans of heated romance with a deeply engaging story line!

ARC Review

A funny and captivating read to take over your weekend!

‘Lush’ by K.D. Elizabeth is the fourth book in her ‘The King Brothers’ series but also the beginning of her brand new and amazon new series ‘The King Cousins’.

This is a light read with just enough mystery to keep you intrigued and on your toes, devouring page after page.

I really liked this book because other than being incredibly interesting, it is also incredibly funny and quirky, always putting a smile on my face.

Nathan is a goofy and hilarious character with a dirty mouth and even dirtier mind.
He is a really talented business owner who is following his dream and doing every possible thing to make it happen.
Nathan is a wet dream come true, a gentleman that will make you blush until you light up like a street light and fiercely loyal brother.

Jude is a powerful and successful business woman that can put to shame any suit that even tries to be half as bad*ss as she is.
She is a fierce and strong woman with a hard and cold shell that hides a truly soft and gooey interior. She will have crazy protective feelings coming right out of you!
Jude is a beautiful character that shows true loyalty, but overall shows you what a great human being looks like.

These characters killed me with their swoony and steamy moments but also with their crazy humor and unbelievable attraction.
Not only did I fall for Nathan and Jude, but I also really loved all the other characters present in this story, moody and all.

I must admit, I did find myself a bit confused in a couple of parts of the book but I truly believe it’s because I had not read the previous books in the series so I didn’t feel like I had the full picture in my mind. Nonetheless, I still THOROUGHLY enjoyed this book and its characters, and also picked up on the many easter eggs left by the author for previous and future stories!

I can’t express how talented the author is, she managed to bring her world to life time and time again! No matter the mood I was in or what was happening around me, when I was reading this book I was fully immersed and forgot about the real world.

If you are looking for a funny and lighthearted read to keep you entertained and to only send good vibes your way, I suggest you pick this book up!

Jude is a corporate warrior sent to scope out the next deal in advance. Nathan is the owner of the bar and the bourbon label deal. When they meet, the attraction is instant and intense. After a hook up, they are surprised to learn they will work together closely for the next month. With the forced proximity, they cannot resist each other.

I loved Nathan. He was a charming, flirtatious playboy who was always up for a good time. He has an excellent sense of humor, a dirty mouth, and the ability to take charge of a situation. Essentially, he is catnip for Jude. She comes across as cold and uptight initially, but underneath it is a woman who loves to laugh but doesn’t allow her real self to be exposed very often. I adored her desire to uphold her integrity and good character in the deal. (Her boss is an evil guy). I love the heat between the two of them: seriously hot stuff. I love that they share vulnerabilities with each other. I love Nathan’s family and all their issues. I love the small town of Ovid, GA, and all the small-town dynamics that are at play. I felt like the characters were well-developed and I enjoyed their relationships with the secondary characters. I appreciated that I could see both sides during the black moment and I loved the HEA. This is not the first book in this series of interconnected standalones, and I have not yet read the previous books. It read completely fine by itself without reading the others. (Though now I really want to read the books about the other brothers). I cannot wait for Noah’s book; I am extremely intrigued with him. This book is written in first person with a dual POV.

I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

It was supposed to only be a hot night with the hottest woman to walk into Nathans small town bar but things take a swift turn when Nathan realises that the woman he cant get out of his head is the very same one that holds the future of his business in the palm of her hands.

••

Jude never expected her steamy one night stand to be with the very person that she had come to town to see, a business prospect! It is now up to Jude to try and keep their relationship strictly platonic but this is proving harder and harder with Nathan melting her resolve at every turn with his smooth words and smouldering touches. Will these two be able to make their steamy attraction work while getting any actual work done?

••

This steamy small town romance was just perfection! I loved every second of Jude and Nathan’s romance these two opposites where just so entertaining. I loved watching Jude try to keep things professional all while Nathan was trying to woo his way back into her bed.

••

My gosh did Nathan make me blush the things that came out of his mouth were 100% steamy goodness (definitely nsfw)! I absolutely loved their steamy back and forth, this has to be my new favorite KD book! As for Jude, I loved how independent she was and that she didnt shy away from going after what she wanted. These two balanced each other out perfectly with Judes more strict nature to Nathans lets have fun attitude.

••

The secondary characters in this book were absolutely on point I can not wait to see which King brother we get next! Lush was the perfect mix of small town cuteness and steamy oh my goodness, you will instantly fall in love with dirty mouth Nathan as he tries to woo his way back into Judes pants!

Lush (The King Cousins #1)
(The King Brothers #4)
Written by: K.D. Elizabeth

I loved this book!

It has humor, steamy sex scenes, five men who really need to go to “how to understand what a woman needs” classes, bourbon, peaches and strong women who stick together.

K.D. Elizabeth has found the smallest town in Georgia, with a group of people readers can’t help but enjoy! Lush had me reading until 2 am in the morning because I had to find out how this ended for Nate (Nathan) and Jude. Nathan is a twin, he is hot, he is sexy, and he has muscles and abs and oh dear lord that mouth. That mouth is so dirty it is irresistible and he has a twin brother that looks just like him. (Pass me that fan please and pour some of his bourbon in my unsweetened tea please) Within hours of arriving at Abernathy’s Bar in Ovid, Georgia, Jude is going to learn just how dirty Nate can be.

It isn’t until later that Jude learns that Nate is really the man she has come to do business with. (So ok that business after the bar closed, totally not what she came for).

It would be so easy to go on, but readers you need to meet the Abernathy brothers yourself. Ovid is a sleepy little town but there is always something happening! There are also snakes who come to town, one of those snakes is Jude’s boss, because you see, it is Nate who has distilled the bourbon that Jude’s company wants to distribute.

Run over to your favourite book e-tailer and preorder this book. I don’t make many statements like this, but I think this is the funniest, sexiest book I’ve read in 2021. I’m planning on looking up the other King Brothers books.

I did not expect to get so involved with this book as I did! This is my first read from this series/book world from KD Elizabeth, but after finishing I will definitely be going back to read the previous books! I think going back will also help me understand Nathan better. Nathan is living his best life running his bar while also working on his own alcohol brand, and when he reaches out to a company to make that dream a reality, it shows how naive he is to those from out of town. Jude is sent to Nathan’s bar to do recon on his product and business, but mistakes him for just a bartender and they end up having an explosive night together. A few days later, when Jude’s boss arrives to have the meeting, she gets the shock of her life when she finds out Nathan’s true identity. Thankfully, Nathan’s twin brother realizes something is off with the meeting and entire situation, and throughout the book we see him protect his brother, even from Jude. When Jude is tasked to stay in town and work with Nathan, she’s reluctant at first, but when they decide to have a secret relationship and act on the feelings and chemistry, she realizes that this is truly a game changer. Unfortunately, Jude’s boss is the bad guy from the jump, and as I continued to read, I realized how many twists and turns this storyline had because of him. Thankfully, everything works out between these two, and while things were a little touch and go for a minute, this couple gets the HEA they both deserve. I can’t wait to explore this family more as well as the previous books!

I loved everything about this book! I love KD Elizabeth's stories and this one was just as good as the others. While I have not read the other books in this series I was able to pick up without any issues. I can't wait to go back and read the others. In this book, the banter between Nate and Jude is what makes this entire book! And the chemistry is off the charts. The steam in this book is just what I needed. I love how Nate can be a jokester one minute but still be caring or flirty the next. And I love seeing how Nate is able to just relax Jude so she is not so uptight and all business. I love how KD Elizabeth is able to make such lovable characters! I also love the family dynamic between Nate and his brothers, they have each other's backs no matter what. Plus all of the King brothers are hilarious as well. And they definitely are not short on drama or steamy scenes.

This story is about Nate who is trying to start his own whiskey business and after a one-night stand realizes that his one-night stand works for the company he is trying to pitch to, so they can sell his product. After Jude's boss tells her to stay and keep an eye on Nate for a month. That one-night stand turns into many more. With drama around his family and worries that Jude's boss may be up to something shady, they start forming a short-term relationship that has an end date. But what happens when feelings start happening, will they be willing to put everything on the line to be with one another?

thank you to KD Elizabeth for allowing me to read and review this copy for my honest opinion.

I cannot stop gushing over this book. I felt every emotion in this book. Don’t think just pick this one.(it’s been a while since I said this for a review)

Let’s begin with The King - Nathan - a bartender with boxing skills, a body where the six-packs keep peeking out through his shirts. His heart is nothing but golden. His family may be incomplete but it definitely is huge. You cannot not love The handsome bunch of Kings.

Jude has a coconut nature which is one of the reasons why Nathan fell for her. No one can mess with her except Northwood obviously. The love she had for her brother got me all mushy mushy.
Northwood, I disliked him in the beginning and the feeling just grew and grew. Everything about him seemed from the beginning. I disliked how he treated Jude. I wanted Nathan to punch him at least once.
The attraction between Nathan and Jude is instant and is like fire. The crazy things they did had me laughing. Understanding and trust was in their relationship because they were so true and open to each other. I hated it when they fought because they were such a happy -straightforward couple. Two halves perfectly made one sorta pair. They as a couple stood tall with and for each other
The other Kings were not bad either, actually, all of them make quite a bunch, a bunch no one can beat especially with their girls.
I am excited for the next one already!!
A must-read.

I think this is the first book of the author I read and I like her writing style. This book is a one-night-stand turned to be more. But Nathan and Jude's relationship seems to start out of no where. I know they are attracted to each other by author's words but not by my feeling. I think that because the author put a scene with Nathan's brothers into it and the scene get my attention more than her intention so when they have their first sexual encounter, I don't feel anything even their lusts. The story is intriguing and intense with a secret of Jude's boss but the author also give us a sense of humour by members of Nathan's family and by Nathan's nature himself. Of course, It has a few of steamy scenes but sadly, I still don't feel anything between them. While I am reading it, my interest keeps going back to Nathan's brothers which I don't why but it just happens. But I like how Jude tries to make things right for Nathan that is the first one that I think I can sense their loves and the way Nathan's brothers think to help him get Jude back is enjoyable to read so I decide to give the book 4 stars.

P.S. And since this book is the fourth of the series, I am going to read the first three books for sure because I want to know more about the King.

Sizzling Hot!

I'm always down for a steamy romance and "Lush" sounded promising, especially on the steamy side but since this would be my first experience with K.D. Elizabeth's work, I wasn't sure what to expect so I settled in to find out. The narrative is delivered in alternating chapters by dual protagonists, Nathan King and Jude Shaw. When Jude makes her presence known in Nathan's bar in Ovid, Georgia the instantaneous connection is scary in its intensity. It's as if they each know what the other wants and the only discussion is where and how soon it can happen. Imagine their surprise post-hookup when they realize they'll be working together to introduce and distribute Nathan's unique small-batch bourbon that he has spent years perfecting. Jude has been instructed to stay in Ovid for a month to wrap up any loose ends in preparation for bringing Nathan's label under her company's corporate umbrella and since they've already done the dirty, why stop now? As they spend the month in a mutually satisfying state of bliss there are other forces working against their efforts with plans to sabotage Nathan's success and bankrupt him in the process. Is Jude in on it or is she being used?

3.5-4 stars

Fun, quirky, adorable book.
Both of our characters are over the top and very high energy. The sexual tension and chemistry is there from the start and the attraction just continues to grow. Nathan is very high energy over the top, cocky with a dirty mouth. If you are into a dirty talker he is the man for you. The back and forth between him and Jude is like verbal sparing and they are both very quick and witty with comebacks. These two are just all around adorable. I am also really glad Nate got knocked down a peg or two, I struggled with his cockiness at first but he eventually grew on me.

The only issues I had with the book is I wish I would have read the previous series that ties this book in. I felt like I was missing pieces. I also had a slight issue with the writing style with this one. It felt very high on energy and there was a lot of back and forth. It’s not what I am used to, but in no way is the writing bad, just not my normal.

Overall this is an adorable fun read. This is definitely for you if you love a cocky fun hero with a dirty mouth, and a heroine who gives just as good as she gets.

4.5 Stars for Lush ( The King Cousins, #1) ( The King Brothers #4)
This author is fairly new to me but after reading Lush I’m really left wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar long before now. The King Brothers are new to me but I will play catch up with this series as soon as time permits, this also means I’m prove that this book can be read as a stand-alone.
This is Nathan and Jude’s story and boy do they have an entertaining tale to tell.
Nathan lives life to the full, he is rarely ever serious and he speaks his mind, he is strong yet vulnerable , witty and extremely hot and I fell hard and fast for him. Jude is a very special lady she is independent and goes after what she wants so what happens when these two have a one night fling and then realise they are going to have to work together......
I love small town romances and this book and the town of Ovid are the perfect example of that genre but what took this book to another level for me was the depth of the characters, the witty banter and the story thats flows so well. I loved Nathan and Jude’s story and I can’t wait to play catch up with the previous books that feature the King boys.

Funny, Entertaining and Joyable!

Nathan & Jude is definitely a couple you will ask yourself....how in the world do these two mesh?

Jude gives you the personality of an Ice Queen. Nathan is a fun, dirty-talking, easy going guy. Nathan loves his family and Abernathy's Bar. Nathan is looking to distribute his own beer name "Old Abe's" in other parts in the United States. Nathan sees Jude in his bar and wants to see if he can take her home for the night. This creates a hot and cold flirtation banter between these two characters throughout the story.

Jude and Nathan have their fun, and expect they will never see each other again!

Next day, Nathan finds out that Jude actually works for the beverage distribution company he is trying to get a contract with. Jude and Nathan spend more time together and start to develop feelings towards each other.

Jude is one tough cookie, who has ice over her heart. I am glad Nathan was able to melt the ice over her heart, and bring some fun and humor to her days she had to stay in Nathan's small town. I love the comedy in this book, but sometimes it was definitely annoying and corny!

Still a great read, and worth my 4-stars!

This is the first book I have read by the author and it is the first in The King Cousins/fourth in The King Brothers series. It is a slow start but really picks up steam as one enters the last half of the story and I just could not put it down until the end. It can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the previous books to have a better understanding of the family. Nathan grew up in a family that always had each other’s backs. He is looking to branch out and develop a peach Bourbon to be distributed nationally unbeknownst to his family. He goes to a distribution house to garner interest in his new venture. Jude is Nathan’s opposite in that she grew up in a dysfunctional family with parents that used her as property. As the representative for the distribution house, Jude winds up at Nathan’s bar. The sparks fly immediately upon their meeting and it is like a roller coaster from then on with their relationship gaining momentum. Making matters more thrilling is that neither one knows who the other truly is. What will happen when the truth is revealed? Want to know…read the book.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

This is the second book I have read by this author and I wasn’t disappointed. The storyline got stronger and stronger as the book went on. I loved the main character Nathan, he was hot, charming, funny and sexy as hell. When Jude steps in his bar he knows she’s someone special but things didn’t turn out very well on their first night together! They both told a lie to each other which went on to make things slightly awkward when they finally officially met!
I loved the family bond all the brothers had, the strength they found in one another and how they all looked out for each other. The storyline was not one like I had read before, it wasn’t at all predictable and when I thought I knew what was going to happen it didn’t! This book was also pretty steamy!
Like all good reads this had a villain too and how awful he was.
I love an epilogue to a book and this one didn’t disappoint, it was a good few pages long than just a couple with what they’ve done a few years down the line.
A very worthwhile read.

Nate is a bar owner. He is full of life and has no shame when it comes to flirting. Jude is hard working, she is one that likes rules and doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure. It is business that leads her to the small town bar that Nate owns, however, not realizing he is the owner she takes the chance and has an insanely hot one night stand with the stranger at the bar. She doesn’t expect to see him again, until she finds out who he is and they are now working together.

I LOVED the chemistry between Nate and Jude and as their story progressed it only grew. I loved how the two of them really balanced each other out and brought out more of the other person. They make great partners in all aspects of life and work. Though, there were some miscommunications that caused some shake up in their relationship and those issues were quickly resolved thanks from some convincing and help from the rest of the King family.

If you’re looking for a small town, workplace romance this is one to read!

Lush is a steamy book four in the King Brothers series. I haven’t read the others in the series, so I was playing catchup with all of the brothers and supporting characters in this book.

Nathan is a strong character who is cocky and comes on strong. Jude is sweet, sassy, and working her way up the corporate ladder. I have to say I didn’t care for Nathan or Jude in the first few chapters of this book. This is probably because their relationship went from eye contact to full on steam in the matter of hours. As a reader, I like to get to know the characters before the action happens.

I did really enjoy the storyline about the business deal and got caught up in the intrigue. That part of the book was very well written and added to my final rating. I also started to enjoy the characters more in the second half of the book when I got to know them a little better.

This was a steamy Southern small town workplace romance. I recommend it to readers who enjoy steamy contemporary open door romance. 4/5

Accurate title

They do seem to be pouring a drink at every opportunity in this book. This was a hot book, with a dirty-talking bar owner/bourbon brewer, Nate, and professional "taster"/liquor distributor employee, Jude. Jude is sent down to the small Georgia town to get details about the company that are considering signing, an ends up breaking her long celibate streak with the guy she thinks just works at the bar. The shocks keep following after that: broken condom, arguments about providing proof to each other of their "clean" status, and a few days later that she slept with the owner she is supposed to be studying. Her questionable boss forces her to stay down there for another month to get details too se if the investment is worth it, and earn her promotion. The chemistry is too hot to resist, & the succumb creatively & often. Backdrop of family drama, fun flirting, and questions on the ethics of her boss. Satisfying ending, lots of hot times, and interested to read the details on the rest of the King family.

Lush by KD Elizabeth releases 3/31/21. I was given an advanced copy through Bookfunnel by the author to provide an honest review. I love it. The characters are engaging, realistic, fun and entertaining. Easy to follow and understand the scenes. Many great lines and intense & sexy scenes. Our star is Nathan King who is a bar owner with a talent to create a superb bourbon. He is in contact with a distributor and she arrives early to do recon before the official meeting. Little do either know their lives just get more entertaining after that initial attraction. Drama, betrayal, suspense and heartache occur. Jude Shaw is quirky, smart and just awesome. Cheers to the heroes and Boo to the villain. It can be read as a stand-alone; no series order required. These King brothers make me want to read their entire stories; especially Noah and Harry. Great read and didn’t want to put it down until the end.
