Four words that started a game that would alter the course of our lives forever.
You never know when one moment is going to change everything. What handful of little words will shift the path you always thought you were going to take.
Elias. Ashton. Zaiden. Hudson.
I thought nothing would break us. That nothing could tear us apart.
But those four little words did.
They started a game none of us were ready for.
A game of bets. Of rewards. Of punishments.
A game to push each other further and further until all the lines were blurred.
The game took over. We went too far. I had no choice.
So once again, I uttered four little words knowing they would ruin us all.
I knew they’d hate me. Knew they’d leave me. Knew I would never come back from it.
I just never thought they’d still want to punish me.
I guess all bets really are off.
All Bets Are Off is the first book in a new series by G. N. Wright and Samantha Bee titled Deadly Games at BSU. This will be a why choose university bully series. It is a dark romance with themes of abuse, violence, graphic descriptions, and other content that may be triggering to some. Full trigger warnings can be found through links in the foreword
I originally DNF pretty early cause I was bored and not at all connecting with Brielle, but decided to give it another go and DNF again this time at 26%. I usually love dark/bully romances, but this just wasn’t working for me.
Outside of not connecting with the FMC, I didn’t really care for the MMCs either. Like I get Brielle “turned” on them, but y’all are trying to tell me that these boys, who were not only her best friends but also were in love with her and knew her better than anyone, do not realize that her sudden 180 in personality and ghost mode activation is a little suspicious?!
That should have been a huge red flag that something was up, but nah they just got mad and decided to bully and ruin her instead of trying to figure out WHY she changed in the first place?! Like how do they not see she’s being blackmailed and abused by Carson?????? Especially when SHE HATED HIM AND THEY KNEW! It literally makes no sense to me.
Also aren’t they rich? Couldn’t they just pay off Carson? Or idk find something on him that negates the shit he’s got on Brielle, cause the dude is an absolute fuck so THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING…
This book was a TOUGH one. I literally dnf'd for a little while before coming to it again. Maybe it was because I'm the worst type of mood reader.
This book was inexplicable long to me. It literally felt like a 1000 pages long. And the worst thing is: NOTHING HAPPENED.
Literally this book was a loop of situations that lead to nothing at all. It was the same stuff over and over again.
One thing i always think is that anything that went down in highschool is never that deep.
Sometimes i was confused bc they did all in their power to hurt her and spread shit about her but then they got mad when people actually talked about said shit? Like how are you going to be mad at a guy for saying she's a hoe when you spread a rumour that she blew off a teacher? Be serious bro the math is not mathing.
The premise... It was okay. Repetitive, but okay. I'm counting as reverse harem bc i suppose she's going to end up with all of them at the end.
“One I’ve never craved because I didn’t know I needed to, and it’s only when our eyes lock that I realize what it is. It’s him. Ashton. My best friend. His taste blurs together with hers on my tongue as I swallow it from my thumb.”
Elias and Ashton. The tension is hot 🥵. Honestly, I would’ve preferred them together but a reverse harem is fine too.
“To heal me too, but I lost that right when I lost them to save them.”
So the guys all thought Bri betrayed them and got them arrested so they came to her new university with plans of revenge and wrecking her life. They destroyed her reputation and even went as far as trying to ruin her education. I did not like that one bit. They nearly ruined her future and that is just nasty 🤮. I came into this book expecting something but I have no idea what, just not this. Sometimes it’s too predictable
Honestly, as the story progressed I felt more interested in the roommate, Shelby. She seems way more bad ass than the heroine. Her hacking skills are also so awesome 😎. Zaiden or whatever was also such a loser. He chose to sleep with Bri’s roommate in order to hurt Bri. Not my type for sure. The way they hurt Bri regardless of the consequences is just petty and childish. What I did not understand was why didn’t Bri choose to trust and tell people around her instead of carrying the burden on her own. I think someone said the h is a bad ass but I think she’s quite normal. She’s strong for not breaking down but I can’t seem to love her. She begs for the guy’s c*ck every time and she lusts after them so often. I didn’t like how the author compared Carson with the guys when she kissed him or them.
Finally the bet is just stupid in general which in turn got them into this mess. I can’t comprehend how ridiculous it is. To steal cars and do reckless things like that making it into a game. It’s crime even if they are rich and whatnot. I think the book was way too long and should’ve been shorter.
Oh my goodness this book was SO FREAKING GOOD!!! All the angst and heartbreak and secrets and longing and the LOVE -- so, so perfect!! The prologue alone gutted me, but this entire book kept me in my feels.
Bri is sacrificing every part of herself so the men she loves (Hudson, Zaid, Eli and Ash) will stay safe, only they don't know that. They think she betrayed them in the worst way and have been planning their revenge on her so she can feel the despair they all feel, but what they don't understand is that she's already in hell, and it's so lonely. This girl has so much grit and fire in her, and gosh damn it hurt to read all what she went through. Please be aware of the trigger Warnings, as they are quite painful, but I can't wait until the guys realize everything and pay he who shall not be named back for traumatizing their girl. I know it's going to be EPIC!!
I love all the connections and different relationships they all share with one another. There's so much more to this group than meets the eye, and they truly are a family. Ash is definitely my favorite so far, but I can't wait for all the relationships to develop even further!!
That cliffhanger is brutal, and I absolutely can't wait until January!! I NEED all the answers!! Do yourselves a favor and one click this bully rh romance -- it's so unlike anything I've ever read and now I'm going back to read everything these two have published. Don't sleep on this book!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions **
I stayed up until 4:30 am on a work night, cuz I couldn’t put it down. Brielle and her guys were inseparable before she suddenly chose Carson - the jerk no one likes - for some reason and then ghosted the guys. Fast forward a few months later, and they are all going to college. The guys switch up their schools to follow Brielle and get their revenge. The guys are out to humiliate her, but there are consequences they don’t even realize. ===> the guys do some really harsh and evil things in their quest for revenge- I really wanted to slap them a lot - I really love Jake and I hope he gets to join the crew :) the rest of the guys ==> well, I hope they have some awesome grovel in them. Based on the hints, I sort of expected the discovery at the end, but I am hooked and can’t wait to see what happens next!
This. Book. Y'all. It's got drama, steam, revenge.. all the things. I could not put this down. I was turning pages trying to figure out what Brielle was hiding from Zaiden, Hudson, Elias and Ashton.
There is more to the eye than what everyone is seeing about Brielle. I feel for her so much. She's doing everything she can and what she thinks is right. The guys don't see that, they see betrayal and want revenge.
Brielle has formed a friendship with Shelby and I absolutely love her. She's the friend Brielle needs and is there no matter what, no questions.
The end of this one. Why. WHYYYYYYY. I cannot believe that happened because now everything is even more messed up. Fix it. PLEASE!
First I need to say PAY ATTENTION TO THE TW!!!!!! I know a lot of people say oh I don’t need them and then they start the book and get all pissy because of what’s in it.
I was lucky to get an ARC for this and I was so excited to dive right in with my buddy readers who also got ARC’s. I knew from the Hallowed Crows series that G. N. Wright can do bully. But this blows that out of the water. This is my first read by Samantha Bee and I can’t wait to read her other books. This may be one of the toughest bully reads I’ve ever read. Toughest meaning the bullying was top tier. The on paper physical abuse (by the boyfriend) was top tier. I had to take breaks from reading. There is also SA Everything was written sooooo good!!! I was hooked.
Right off the bat the prologue had me in my feelings and I knew I would be on a long ride. Although the harem isn’t put together in the first one we know how it’s going to be set up. We have Bri, Hudson, Zaid, Eli and Ash. BFF’s through HS having plans for their future until one night everything changes. We as readers do not know what happened. We see them next in college Bri is now with boyfriend {jackass} I mean Carson. And the boys follow her needing to know what happened. Feeling hurt, heartbroken and plain pissed off they decide to make her life hell and doing some major bullying. Little do they know the more they do the more abuse jackass does back to her. At first glance you may think Bri is weak, but she’s not. Read into her monologue. She thinks they are protecting them. Even though they would fight to the death for her. Shelby, her best friend is AMAZING!!! And I wanted to jump in the book and punch Z for what he did to her 🤬 I cried through this book, I was pissed through this book my jaw hit the floor by the end!!!! I want the second one NOW!!!! This is a must read if you are a lover of the bully troupe. It will definitely check all of your boxes SA✅ Bullying✅ Physical abuse✅ Drug use✅ Mental abuse✅
This dynamic duo needs to write together all the time because this book is pure magic! I love Sam and Gabby’s books so I had high hopes for them writing as a team, and All Bets Are Off absolutely delivered!
Bully romance can be hit or miss for me, and I realize I’ve become fairly particular with this trope. I can honestly say that this book hit all the right notes, coming together in a fast-paced, intriguing read with loads of angst, a helping of mystery, a dash of suspense and the perfect amount of steam. The characters are well developed and the multi POV allowed me to connect not only with FMC Brielle but with the guys as well.
With any type of friends to lovers or second chance story, I find that flashbacks or including snippets of early friendship days allows me to connect more deeply with the story. Sam and Gabby give us a hell of a prologue to kick things off and continue to flash back to significant moments of the characters’ friendship throughout the book. This weaving together of past and present creates the character development and connection I needed to become fully invested.
The bullying aspect was mostly along the lines of reputation ruining and didn’t feel too hardcore. There isn’t any real OW drama which I personally appreciated and find at times that authors can fall back on this to create angst but it wasn’t needed. The writing is powerful and emotive on its own and gave me lots of big feels.
This is a dark romance and there are some harsh moments so be sure to check the content warning before diving in. The cliffhanger is brutal and has me anxiously awaiting book two. Bully romance readers, make sure to snag this book once it releases at the end of the month!
Not gonna lie this is my first read by both of these authors even though I have books of theirs in my kindle library!! Well guess what after reading this insanely fantastic and intense book they wrote together I will be reading more of their work!! I seriously could not put this book down hardly at all.
Brielle is not what you expect at all and she has got a lot of secrets that she’s keeping but she feels that everything she’s done and is doing is what’s best. Not just for her but everyone. Ashton, Zaiden, Elias, and Hudson her best friends from childhood are left broken, confused, and they just want answers to why she did what she did and then ghosted them. Feeling betrayed and rejected they decide they want revenge along with their answers so they follow her to her college to get both from her. You’ll instantly fall in love with her best friend Shelby even after some of the questionable things she does, and yep you will absolutely hate and feel disgusted by Carson the guy she ghosted the guys for.
This book will keep you turning the pages just to find out what happens next and if you’ll be able to find out answers for yourself. You’ll feel anger, frustration, anxious and a whole slew of other emotions reading this book. It’s a slow burn which is a change for me but still enjoyed it just as much. There will be no HEA at the end of this and be aware of TW because this is in every sense a definite Bully Romance and that’s exactly what These Ladies have written us. The huge cliffy will leave you saying WTF and feeling a tad bit destroyed but definitely in need of book 2! Highly recommend this and the whole upcoming series.
Let me start by saying… I was terrified to start this book. Explanation: Have you read books from these authors?! They have written some of my absolute favorite books… but the Cliffhangers!!!! 🪦 Although, it left you with a cliffhanger it wasn’t as severe as I anticipated. *wipes brow* thank goodness.
Brielle, Hudson, Ashton, Elias, and Aiden have been best friends for years. Brielle was the center of their universe… until she disappeared with no explanation. The boys are distraught- not knowing what happened to make her leave the way she did. Sadness turns to anger and they are ready for revenge.
They follow her to BSU and the games begin. The boys have turned into men ready to make Brielle’s life hell. She deserves it in their eyes. Not everything is as it seems. Little do they know… she was trying to protect them from a monster.
This book was dark, action packed, and kept me on my toes. I was feeling so much while reading this book… sadness, anger, and an overwhelming hatred for a certain male character. Seriously, he’s the worst.
I will DEFINITELY recommend this book to every dark romance lover I know.
Oh my word..... WOW All Bets are Off is book 1 in the Deadly Games at BSU series and boy oh boy did they come out swinging! This is a dark reverse harem with major triggers, do your due diligence and look em up before starting. This is a friends to enemies, Bully trope that ticks all my boxes (and then some)... Zaid, Ash, Hudson and Eli can certainly bully with the best of em. Determined to make their ex best Friend Brielle pay for abandoning them and moving on with who they deem less then worthy, snake in the grass Carson, the boys follow her to BSU with the sole purpose of destroying her reputation. Little do they know the extent of the price she's paying for their pranks and the lengths she's willing to go to protect them. Brielle's strength and tenacity are admirable as she does everything in her power to protect the 4 men she loves more than anything in this world. The heartbreaking thing is, they don't truly know her motives or reasons and are blinded by their own broken hearts to see the truth... Ash knows something doesn't add up, can he convince his friends to see the truth and help him uncover the truth before its too late? The ending of this book left me gasping! I cannot wait for the next one. What a ride!
I knew these 2 authors together were gonna wreck me 😂😂😂
All Bets Are Off is book #1 in the Deadly Games at BSU series. This is a DARK reverse harem. Make sure to check the trigger warning!!!!
I love everything from these authors separately and with them coming together, i know this series is gonna blow my mind!
This is a dark, emotional, wild, twisty, secret filled ride and I am here for it!!!! Brielle and the guys Zaiden, Hudson, Ashton and Elias were best friends and always together. Until something happened and the guys ended up in handcuffs and Brielle left.
But everything isn't as it seems at all. Brielle is doing all she can to protect her guys but they just want to punish her and make her pay for what she did.
Oh my God, my heart!!! I just wanted to reach thru my Kindle and hug Brielle, strangle Carson and lick Zaiden 😂😂😂
All Bets Are Off is an amazing start to this series and I can't wait for book 2!
Oh. My. Goodness. This book was a wild, slightly terrifying, roller coaster. I need to start this off with saying that anyone interested in reading this book definitely should check the trigger and content warnings because this is some really dark stuff.
I love the characters, with all their flaws. The heroine Brielle is fierce but has the worst time ever in this book. Her boyfriend is the most vile character I've read in a long long time. I detest him. He is the absolute worst.
The bullying is real, and its some of the best worst bullying I've read. The guys are horrible to Bri, and I just want to give our poor Bri a big big hug.
This is a slowburn, and it leaves me wanting so much more between Bri and the guys. The guys are interesting characters who I adore, even though I want to smack them around their heads a bit for not figuring some things out.
I was lucky to get a ARC, but this is an excellent read and if you're a fan of some dark dark reverse harems, then check this out. Impatiently awaiting the next book, although simultaneously terrified for Bri and what's to come.
WOW JUST WOW!! This book is legit everything I needed! I was hooked from the very start! Brielle and the boys got me very frustrated more times then I could count they are so freaking stubborn it’s unreal I was yelling at my kindle they really needed to get their shhh together!! Lol 😆
The suspense and angsty feelings I experienced was just 😘😘. There was moments that had me 🫣🫣.
This book is seriously so dang good!! I don’t wanna give to much away because believe me my mind right now that I’ve finished is still reeling from it!! 🙌🙌 a top favorites I can’t wait for the next one!!!
Put your seatbelt on and get ready to be flung about on an emotional roller coaster 🤣 Overall, the plot I find is well developed even though the whole revenge thing I personally find is way overboard but I mean in books it’s a whole other story 🤣 I mean helloooo imagine dedicating that much time and effort just to get your revenge djdjdjdh you’ll probably find yourself wanting to reach into the book and beat Bri and the guys multiple times but again I live for the fictional drama 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I will say for you to check the trigger warnings before hand just to be on the safe side! We have our main lead who is doing the most just to prophecy the boys who mean the world to her.
If I’m honest, I’d give it a 3.5/5 stars only because maybe I’m just old (closer to 30 than the characters) so I did find most of their drama just juvenile and veryyyy high school which makes sense as they’re fresh out of high school 🤣 my biggest annoyance in books is miscommunication or just not communicating trope 🤣 like the way I wanted to just knock on the guys heads and be like hellluurrrr anyone home?! Like come ooonnn you rlly not going to question her 180 and not think to even consider until like 3/4 ways in to question their supposed best friends actions??!!! Surely if you know the ins and outs of someone you’ll know when somethings off?? I mean Bri must be Oscar material 🤣
I hope book 2 brings a bit more light onto Bri’s actions for the boys so I can be less frustrated with how dumb boys can be hahahaha
I was sent an ARC to review for free and am voluntarily adding my honest review.
The Queens of Chaos are on fire!!!! This is a brand new book that will draw you in and not let you go. These two definitely know how to keep you on your toes wondering what is going on and how everything is going to play out. And every time you think you have it figured it? Yup, they pull the rug right out from under you and leave you scratching your head. I am so excited for more
Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Spice 🌶️🌶️ (but I'm sure in future books this will be amped up, and dare I say, some MM?? (I'm looking at you Ashton & Elias😉)) 1st person POV, switches between Bri and each of the men, but Bri has the most page time
Alrighty, I pretty much love anything from Sam Bee and GN Wright and this was no exception. The plot was very well developed, however I did want to throttle Bri and the guys more than once. I mean, who goes off the rails and uproots their whole lives to exact revenge on someone just because their best friend had them detained in jail for a night and then ghosted them? Apparently a couple of 18-year-olds who can't live or breathe without said best friend, even if it means they are all in severe emotional pain as they try to act like they hate her while they punish her. As someone approaching 30, it's easy to see they are masking their pain by lashing out. And while Bri is suffering the consequences of their "pranks," you can tell she's secretly glad that they're still there and still fighting, even if it's in a roundabout way.
In this first book, we are thrust into the headspace of a young woman who is doing everything she can to protect the boys she loves. Reader beware and check the TW!!! Bri is doing everything she can to pacify Carson while still formulating a plan to get out from under his thumb. I LOVED that we got to see some of her hidden cards near the end of the book. I can already tell that book 2 is going to be a rollercoaster and I am here for it.
The reason for my 4/5 stars for plot was because it was frustrating that the guys (Zaiden, Ashton, Hudson, and Elias) didn't question Bri's actions until a little over half of the book. They took her silence and accepted her performance at face value. Even after following her to BSU, they continue to only look at her appearance at a surface level. For men who were supposedly her best friends for many years, you would hope they would've caught on that something was wrong. That Bri wouldn't do a 180 for no reason. But I'm sure that as they continue to question things, they will come to Bri's side as she deals with Carson, whether she likes it or not.
Lastly, it seemed like there were certain times where we were just going in circles. The boys pull a prank, Carson gets mad, Bri suffers the consequences. Rinse and repeat. I'm hoping in book 2 we'll see a little more action rather than reaction on Bri's part. I love to see a bad bitch come out to play 😈
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Oh My God! This was an absolutely amazingly dark book and it did not disappoint. I know GN Wright can put you through the emotional ringer, and combined with Samantha, my goodness what a book! I cannot even express how much feelings I went through with this book. What a ride!!!
The book is very well written, it keeps you intrigued and wanting to know more. But I personally felt like the book was longer than it needed to be. It felt very drawn out.
I predicted that this book would blow me away and did it ever! Gabby's books always suck me in with their darkness, depravity and strong characters. Her collaboration with Samantha makes for one mind-blowing series.
I have a love/hate relationship with this book. I absolutely HATE Carson, but I love Brielle and the guys (Elias, Ashton, Hudson & Zaiden)...even if I was yelling at them to open their eyes and get their shit together. I LOVE Shelby, she's the friend we all need.
This book has everything - love, hate, mystery, suspense, anticipation, assault, violence - it is DARK, but it definitely lays the ground work for the series. We learn so much about all of the characters, they're gonna live rent-free in my head for way too long.
Brielle is definitely playing the long game here, not a quick bet. and I can't even wait to see how this all plays out.
I'd be remiss if I didn't mention her love of llamas (pjs, bedding, plush) - “Boys are crass and llama’s kick ass.”
Wanted to love this book, but I caught myself skimming 50% of it. I feel it could have been half the length. Also, if you were wanting a strong FMC, this is NOT the book.
• RH (no MM yet, we know it's gonna happen though *smirk smirk*) • Dark Bully romance • College setting • Trigger Warnings • Playlist
Ashton is a name very close to me because it's the name of my first book boyfriend ever, so seeing this name pop up here made me a bit vary BUT I'm sooooo happy that out of the four guys here, this Ashton is my favourite as well. Thank god his behaviour isn't anything like Z's because I would've kinda disliked him then...
Moving forward, the book hooked me from chapter 1, there were so many unknown factors that compelled me to read further. Knowing this is a bully romance was also an incentive tbh. I have 88 highlights 👀
We don't know what happened "that night" .. was it a bet? was it a bet gone wrong? or was it something entirely different?
Hudson, Ashton, Elias and Zaiden...these four have been affected by Bri's actions and they see it as betrayal. Hence the want for revenge and answers begins along with emotional bullying.
TW of physical abuse and sexual assault are mainly to be taken under consideration (other TW are mentioned in the beginning of the book since they are quite graphically written on page) as they are done by someone who's in the story on almost every second page.
The writing throughout is attention keeping, the secrets making me wish we had the sequel already, the connection between them though going through ups and downs right now is still ever present and the little flashback snippets we get are wonderful to read.
Bri's actions are not entirely sassy but not entirely broken either, she's toeing the line giving major inclination to the broken part with some reckless moves. I did expect her to have atleast one trip to the hospital atleast because of how foolishly the pills and alcohol were being meshed but it didn't happen. What happened with the diary is another mystery and with different theories of maybe her boyfriend isn't as stupid and non observant as it seems; or how she has many of them; or she's lying towards the ends because of another thing...so many possibilities..
ALSO, can we talk about the formatting?? Because I love what's done with every person's name who's POV is going on. It's super cool with the chess piece!!
Despite everything, this might've been just too long and a bit repetitive about her protecting the guys and hence the importance of that sentence did fade away for me. The ending didn't leave me crushed or desperate for the next book (unlike the start) though it wasn't predictable. I'm not connected to the remaining 3 guys at all but find Jake better, even as a friend is a little concerning right now.
The side characters such as Vanessa, Shelby, Bri's mom and dad, Jake and others are of importance we are yet to see more of.
I want to start this review by saying to read the trigger warnings. There are a lot of dark themes in this book so please make sure you are prepared and can handle it.
Okay, onto my review. I absolutely hate the authors for how many emotions they caused me. Now that’s not saying I didn’t enjoy the book. Honestly this is probably one of my favorite series. There is so much depth that I can feel the characters' pain and also the love they have for each other even though they have buried deep down.
The book is about Brielle and her four best friends Ashton, Hudson, Elias, and Zaiden. They have been friends since childhood and thought nothing could tear them apart. That’s until Brielle leaves the group one day with no explanation other than a photo of her on social media kissing another guy. The guys are confused and hurt at first but that hurt soon turns into anger. They are so angry they decide to follow Bri and her bf Carson to college to start their old game of betting each other if they can or can’t do what the other bets them. From there we get a ton of drama and secrets start to unravel. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone so I’ll leave it at that and more onto the characters.
Brielle is one of my favorite female characters. She was raised in a privileged lifestyle but she is just a normal girl at the end of the day. She is such a unique character. Most times you either get a strong fmc that doesn’t let anything get to her or a weak one who can’t stick up for themselves. Bri is strong and you see just how much as the story goes on but she also has moments where she doesn’t know how to handle things and just feels alone. It helps you relate to her more and you can’t help but root for her. The guys had me cursing them out most of the book (well besides Ashton and Jake. They are amazing). There were times I wanted to slap them upside the head. I was hoping they would catch on and see there’s more than meets the eye. But of course that would make things too easy and we wouldn’t have such an incredible story. Carson is in a league of his own for my hatred. I don’t think I’ve ever despised a character so much. I can’t even think about him without getting upset and considering he’s a big part of the story just shows you how many times my phone almost got broken throughout the book.
The ending was cruel. I knew having read other books by the authors to prepare for some heartbreak but I hoped after everything that already happened they would give us a little reprieve but nope. Had to destroy me even more. Now I have to wait for book two to see what happens. But I will use this time wisely and send them ideas of how the guys should grovel and also what to do to Carson so he gets the punishment he deserves.
For some reason this book took me a little longer than normal to get into but having read all of GN Wright's books and loving them I knew this one wasn't going to be any different especially since she co-wrote it. Of course I was right and it only took me a few more chapters than normal until I really started to get sucked in.
Brielle and the guys, Ashton, Elias, Hudson, and Zaiden come from old money. They have spent most of their time together and liked to play their dangerous game. That is until one night when everything changes. After that certain incident happens Brielle ends up cutting ties with the boys and ditches them and their plans for her new "boyfriend" Carson. Never understanding why and seeking their revenge they follow her to college where everything begins.
My heart broke for Brielle in this book. She has to endure so much to protect the people that she loves. No matter what happens to her she always puts them first.
I really injoyed her roommate / new best friend Shelby. I loved her attitude and how devoted she was to Brielle even though they only knew eachother for a short period of time.
Understandably I really dislike Carson. Especially for the way he is black mailing her and decides to take everything out on her even when it is not her fault. I hope he eventually gets what's coming to him and what he deserves.
There are so many things I am looking forward to in the next installment. I loved the chemistry between Ashton and Elias. I'm really hoping we get more from the two of them next time and not just friend scenes. Also after an ending like that I am curious to see how things play out next. Of course like always I am hooked. 100% reccomend.
Oh man. I did not know what I was getting myself into when I got this. The blurb drew me in. But the book? Wow. Samantha Bee and GN Wright tore it up, dare I say this is their best work yet? This book hit all the elements in a college series book you want. There’s mystery, a little bit of spice (though I have a feeling we’ll be getting a LOT MORE in the next book or two), angst, RH, sports, and good old college humor and topics. However, if you are triggered by any type of abuse: mentally, physical, emotionally I do not recommend this book or series for you. Any dark triggers too. Read with caution, this can be viewed as a darker novel, it touches on sensitive topics.
So Brielle and her four boys have been bff’s forever. Then, a bet goes a rye, something happens, and she cuts them off completely. People whom she deemed family. So we sort of piece together what happened through the story. Each chapter may have a different POV, which I always love bc it allows you to really get into the story and each characters headspace. Then, there’s Carson. I won’t touch on him much because he’s the worst. Just know he’s there and does a lot of awful stuff :) it’s interesting to watch the web unweave as the guys try to figure out what happened to their best friend. The ending (don’t be alarmed there’ll be another book but there is an epilogue) kind of sheds light to the situation. I bet you should dive into the world of Brielle, Ashton, Elias, Zaiden, and Hudson. All bets will be off when you do because you’ll be sucked into this story wanting to know what happened 🖤❤️
I was honestly surprised when I didn’t like this book very much because I love the Steel Roses series by Sam and the Hallowed Crows MC series by GN.
Our FMC Brielle gets blackmailed with something that could ruin the lives of the MMC’s and is forced to cut contact with the men she loves and be the perfect society trophy girlfriend to the man who’s blackmailing her. Now of course she doesn’t confide in the MMC’s who are supposedly her best friends and would literally do anything for her, proof of that in the blackmail material. And we read a ton of repetitive thoughts in her POV on how she hates this situation, misses the guys, considers telling them and tosses out that notion in the same breath. This whole thing just pissed me off because she could’ve went to them for help. Instead she cut contact, something that deeply hurt the guys and created enough hate and resentment on their end to follow her to college for revenge. I just could not see the logic. Brielle knows the guy blackmailing her is a creep and he just gets worse as the story goes on and yet she still won’t say anything. The MMC’s have already showed her they’d take care of her, do anything for her and yet she keeps this to herself. Accepts their hate and resentment and swallows their immature revenge antics and says NOTHING. I also hated hated hated that one of the guys slept with Brielle’s college roommate. All of this upset me and didn’t make any sense to me. Brielle should’ve trusted the guys with this. Super disappointing she didn’t.
I have loved every book Gabby has written so far but haven’t read any of Sam’s books yet (however that will definitely be changing)! This book had me all over the place and genuinely broke me at parts.
Brielle has gone off to college with her boyfriend and cut off all ties with her four best guy friends, Elias, Ashton, Hudson, Zaiden. Now they’ve followed her to college to get revenge after four simple words, 𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒇𝒇. However, things may not seem as they appear to the guys.
I was not prepared for how emotional this book would make me at points! Bri is yet another strong FMC that i cant help but love and root for, especially when we see everything she is dealing with. Watching her cope with the boys being at college with her was a whirlwind. But what got to me most was seeing what she went through with Carson.
The four boys had me raging at points wanting to just scream at them to get over themselves and look deeper. Ashton is by far my favourite!!!
I have never hated a character as much as I hate Carter!!!!!!! Now that is someone that i hope gets what he deserves at the end and even that won’t be enough!!!
Please check the trigger warnings for this book before starting as there are some very big triggers throughout!
Wow! This is one fast paced book with a really fabulous plot. Quite original too. Told from a multiple POV. There are plenty of triggers so do heed the authors warning.
Brielle has started a new university with Carson, her new boyfriend and move away from her home and her friends- Zaide, Hudson, Ashton and Elias. It’s all happened quite suddenly due to a secret which we don’t find out about until the ends. The boys feel betrayed and set out to get revenge on Brielle. The bullying is mainly focused on revenge/ ruining Brielle’s reputation.
There are some truly angsty moments in this book which gave me all the feels. Ashton’s true devotion is amazing to read, there is a lot of redemption needed for Zaide and Hudson, there’s a potential MM in the harem stating to take shape too. I also had moments where I wanted to throw my kindle across the room too! The spice is a bit slow burn but felt it was relevant to the story.
Love the side characters too- Shelby is a great new bestie, as is Jake although I’m still not sure if he’s a friend or a harem member.
If you like dark romance with an friends to enemies to lovers vibe you’ll enjoy this. If you have no triggers, go in blind. Ends on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for book 2.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review
