I woke up with Kade Ashstone's package. And his eyes. And his muscles. And...oh God, why does he sleep in his birthday suit?
It all started when I shook hands with billionaire Kade Ashstone. Known as ruthless and cutthroat, he’s hired me to fix his PR problem, but touching his calloused hand was magical, and not just because of the way his smoldering gaze turned my inside into one of those butterfly exhibits.
I fell asleep thinking of him...and then I woke up as him. Like in his body. And, oh God, he sleeps butt naked.
I always wanted to be a billionaire, but not like this. Do you have any idea how hard it is to pee standing up when your package is also standing up?
And that’s the least of my problems, because he’s in my body too.
The upside is now that I’m living life as Kade, I have the perfect opportunity to turn things around for him and fix his public image, even if he’s not going to like the way I do it.
But just when I start getting used to having broad shoulders, big biceps, and billions of dollars, we swap back. It turns out we swap every single Friday for 24 hours, so at least I can plan around it.
The only thing I can’t plan for is my feelings--my very confused feelings as I start to fall for the guy whose body I’m in every Friday. Have you ever slept with someone, then woken up in the morning next to yourself? Yeah, this is going to get complicated.
KADE
I’ve always been good at taking a woman’s bra off, but putting one on? Now that’s complicated.
Melinda Minx lives in Seattle with her loyal Corgi. She writes late into the night with a hot cup of Earl Grey. She likes to write romantic comedies, the cuter the better!
This was soooooo cute! I giggled almost through this whole thing. This is the story of Kade, the growly alpha billionaire CEO of Reaper Capital, and Sora the struggling shy girl who he hires along with her brother to rehabilitate his image after terrible accidents. When they meet they shake hands and warm electric current ran up their arms into their bodies. From that point on every Friday night they swapped bodies, for 24 hours.
As you can imagine crazy hijinks ensue. Sora uses her time in Kade's body to do a little good, with His money. Kade ends up having to deal with what women go through all the time, and help fix some situations in Sora, her family and friend's lives. Kade also can't help pushing Sora's buttons and boundaries.
I really liked this. It was lighthearted, quirky, and sweet, with a good amount of steam. Especially with all the little dirty taunts from Kade. And very funny. I loved all the characters, even Sora's snort laughing best friend. When not laughing or giggling I realized I had a big grin on my face as I read this, and continued to smile over 30 minutes after finishing. That speaks for itself. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author again.
Even though this is an ARC review, I will always shoot you straight. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Everything about the blurb intrigued the shit out of me - Freaky Friday adult style. Okay, I’m down.
Opens good. She’s a nervous wreck and doesn’t want to work with the MMC. Some weird exchange in the elevator, and she’s settled enough to realize she needs this job. Fine enough.
What I can’t mofo stand is an MC intro where the FMC raves about how physically fine the MMC… to the point she can’t even hold eye contact with him while the MMC inner dialogues this shit…
She’s prettier than I expected. Not beautiful, but pretty.
It was a strike against him, but I’ll live.
So, then our first freaky Friday happens, and I couldn’t stop smiling at the wake ups. Great writing.
Jesus, this thing is inconvenient.
Perhaps, but I’m loving the hell out of the show.
The author pegs the male voice perfectly. Most authors have great difficulty writing a man without him being either a complete barbarian or sappy sweet. This author nailed that grey area that exists between the two. I think it’s her strongest writing asset.
Plenty of laughs scattered around.
I think the author took a dated plot premise and freshened it up. Was it moving? No. Neither character had any life-changing epiphanies from body swapping. It was entertaining, though, for the most part. My biggest complaint is that the storyline just comes to an abrupt halt. It has closure, but it’s so abrupt that it devalues the book.
A few problems…
14% I see my own phone number on the screen. … He called me from my phone, … YET… “Your phone doesn’t work, Sora. How would I have called you in? I’m borrowing a stranger’s right now— <<< Writing blunder.
The nephew being a complete douchebag… I could’ve lived without it, but the real problem is that the author completely forgot about the little turd. He showed up for a WEEK stay with the MMC. After his book role to get the character to the club was done… bam, he just disappeared from the story without explanation. Plot hole.
57%-63% feels out of place and slows the pacing down. Side convos recapping and analyzing aren’t needed, and the MMC cancer convo with the FMC’s brother was awkward AF. Same with the retelling of the ‘how we got here’ at the wedding … just fluff that didn’t add to the story.
Again, the end was a mix for me. Too abrupt with the end of the main story left in the jail. I didn’t like that the why, how of the storyline remained a mystery of the universe. I didn’t mind the permanent factor… just that it all ended with a shoulder shrug. Who would do that? The HEA was basically just spelled out, not told!!! Max was interesting and more of that element would have been nice - the physical component of it. Yet, it feels very weird where the story ended. Sure, it’s a several years later epilogue, but it didn’t feel complete.
Up until the end, I was ready to give this four stars for the laughs. The rushed ending dropped it to three.
I received a copy from Booksprout; this is my honest review. Did not finish - 39% -Sora is totally, inexcusably unprofessional in everything she does while in Kade's body. Sora will do whatever SHE thinks is right, even though it's not. Kade, on the other hand, tries to give Sora and Mickey a better life in the future. Wow. Such a big difference. -When they meet at The Troll, Sora thinks "it's the first time we've seen our own bodies from outside" - so ... you've never looked into a mirror???? -Sora thinks Kade is petless because he hates furry animals. He might be allergic!!!!! -I think the last two drops in the cups were 1. Sora goes into a meeting taking more decisions she should not have taken and 2. Chez appeared and I had enough of his entitlement. -I didn't think it was funny or romantic. It just aggravated me as I read through the evening. Oh, sorry, I did laugh once "this thing is inconvenient". -The editing is awful (I'm not sure if I received an ARC or not) but when Kade is dressing up he "throw a shirt on" but 4 paragraphs later "I grab the first shirt I can find and throw it on". Then when Kade finds a way to call Sora, Sora sees "my own phone number on the screen" but it's not possible because Kade borrowed "a stranger's (phone) right now". Ched is "wearing loose gym shorts" but 5 paragraphs later "through his jeans".
3.5 stars. This is a hoot and a half. This was a fun romp. There’s this quick intimacy that gets built because the two main characters swap bodies. And, unlike most books with insta-like/love/list, the whole body swap makes it feel very natural. There are a few things that make no sense like throwing a charity ball in less than a week and seeing a name pop up on a cell phone when you don’t have a cell phone.
Also... there is smut. There are some preposterous events near the end of the book that seem to be thrown in for kicks and giggles.
But it’s a fun look at what would happen if you really had to walk in someone else’s life. I enjoyed it a lot!
I could not wait to start reading this book. I saved it for last to enjoy it fully. The blurb alone had me laughing my head off.
When Sora shook hands with billionaire Kade Ashstone who was hiring her for some PR fixing of his company, there was a strange magical feeling. When they woke up the next day, they had swapped bodies! It wasn’t as bad as it could have been because this only happened each Friday and then they switched back. But it was still an interesting time.
Sora tried to fix his PR image, but I didn’t always agree with her making such decisions when she didn’t know what she was doing. Kade tried to help Sora and her brother in ways that would make them more successful and confident. The best way to now experience this story is to grab your copy and read it. The banter and dialog is fun. The blurb will give you a good idea of the laughs ahead. The better your imagination, the harder you will be laughing.
Will Sora and Kade begin to fall for each other? Or when this crazy period ends, will they be happy to walk away from it all?
The blurb seemed so catchy to me that I couldn't postpone it to read after my fantasy/sci fi binge. I was like damn that sounds really funny and interesting I need know how it goes right now! And yes it's funny. What I wouldn't give for reading a chapter as kade in Sora's body while she's menstruating 😂 but wait, that ending was so abrupt and not satisfying at all. Yeah that was disappointing. It's a short simple quick read with a unique freaky Friday twist.
You know how usually in the movie/book the characters body swap until they learn something important about the other, see things from another angle and become better people? That didn't happen here. No reason, nothing learned.
That's the second time I try something from Melinda Minx and get completely disappointed. Maybe it's my fault for expecting so much. I mean the blurb it's great, the hole idea got me excited; I was hoping something with cute moments and funny lines, but instead I got cringey ones, no character development and a messy plot.
Don't get me wrong, I did have some laughs and I did find some moments cute, but the story just has so many problems; first most of it felt rushed, some obstacles appear (they are, by the way, very random), are solved (and we barely see how) and it ends, just like that.
Really.
I even wondered if there was a problem, if it was lacking some pages because it was so abrupt.
But no it was it, with an equally rushed epilogue.
Then we have Sora, that can be really childish in a non cute way, plus she's extremely unprofessional on her way of trying to deal with everything and with what she does on his body. And there's Kade who it's an ass most of the time, makes shitty decisions too and has no real chemistry with Sora. Not at all.
There was so much potential, but it was all sadly wasted which is a shame and I can't get all the good reviews, especially after the amount of cringey dialogues it has, trying to pass as funny.
Time for a break on trying to read her books apparently.
I have read many of Melinda Minx's romantic comedies and loved them- and this book had a lot of the things I love about her writing going for it. To be completely honest I'm not usually one to read a paranormal romance, it's just never really been my thing.
The way that this story was put together though I did enjoy it and it wasn't too far out of line from what I would expect in a typical romantic comedy. Kade and Sora are total opposites and live very different lives. In the beginning of the story Sora completely dislikes Kade as well, until she quite literally walks a mile in his shoes. Sora uses her time as Kade to build up his reputation and do good for others while Kade uses his time to build up Sora's life and infuse confidence into her and her brother.
The Package Swap was quirky and fun. There was some intense heat between Kade and Sora- though only when they were in their correct bodies. I did feel like the story lacked a little in some areas of the story- like what exactly Sora as Kade did in saving his company or what life was like between the two of them when they first got together or a bit down the road instead of the huge time jump at the end. But overall I did enjoy this little taste of paranormal romance with the fun comedic edge!
'The Package Swap' by Melinda Minx is a well written and well developed story with likable characters and an interesting plot tells the story of Sora and Kade. Sora and Mikey, her brother, run a PR company. Kade owns his own company and has been having some unfortunate business experiences so he needs to change his image. Three PR companies have already turned down his job offer so he is having Sora and Mikey give him a pitch. Sora doesn't want to work with Kade because she thinks he is an unethical businessman but they need the job because they have no money. When Kade and Sora shake hands they feel a little shock and and some weird tingle. They both just shook it off until the next morning. Sora woke up at Kade's apartment in his body and Kade woke up at Sora's apartment in her body. WTH??
Ms. Minx has written a fascinating book with a great twist on Freaky Friday. This book has wonderful characters and a compelling storyline. This story is filled with humor, drama, snark and sass, sizzling chemistry, and some heat. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys a twist on a familiar story.

This was a fun read. This was my first time reading a body switching book, though I have seen/read it in anime/manga, and the possibilities for such a story are vast. I've always been drawn to the opportunity for someone to grow or change by living a life or experiencing something different from their norm- like that old show Wife Swap where a family has to live by someone else rules in how they live their life and vice versa. By the end they either have grown more open to a little change that makes their lives better, or they don't and can better appreciate how they choose to live. A situation like this- outright switching your body with someone else's- and the opposite gender to top it off- is an immediate eye-opener.
This book had it's funny moments. And was amusing watching them trying to negotiate with each other and figure things out. I personally didn't care for Sora too much. I didn't like some of her judgements and assumptions. But I enjoyed the story. I would read more form this author. 4 stars.
I don't know if the book gets better after 20%, but both main character state not likeable. He's a sexist, elitist jerk and she's a judgmental, narrow minded woman. That far in, I should be able to connect with the characters a little. I also expected the book to be funny. The body swap has happened and it just wasn't what I expected. It wasn't funny, it was just awkward.
Spoilers
When she meets up with him, they get on a disagreement about something and she slaps him so hard it knocks him down. For granted he, they aren't on their own bodies, so o guess she slapped herself, bit that's not ok. She was completely out of line on several points. She was unreasonable. He's trying to fashion a solution and she's trying to figure out how to get to his money so she can pay her bills with it. Because she is justifying stealing from him because he has more money than her. She refused to stay st his house. Refused to tell her brother anything to see if he could help them. I expected a funny romcom, this didn't even come close.
The Package Swap was a fun ride. Siblings Sora and Mikey are broke and trying to get hired by a billionaire to do PR for his company. Sora thinks the billionaire Kade is an evil cutthroat but he's very handsome and there's a weird burst of energy when they touch hands. The next morning she wakes up in Kade's luxurious apartment, in Kade's body. They have to navigate each others' lives every Friday doing various rescues. There's a groping incident and Kade-Sora has to deal with a hostile takeover. I love whimsical body swap stories as you can have so much fun with them. Here, some plot twists come a bit out of left field and other threads are left hanging but overall this was an entertaining tale. There's a short bonus scene that reveals who gave birth to their son that you can read by joining a mailing list. I wish authors would just put these epilogues in the actual book. Freaky Friday step aside! This is too funny. It is about Sora and Kade. Sora and her brother Mickey are working together to get a job with the billionaire Kade although she calls him the evil man, when they arrive at their appointment, she makes a wish which is to be a billionaire in order to not have the need to work for someone so evil. Of course, the story is awesome similar to watching the movie Freaky Friday but one that never ends as they don’t how this happened.
The story has more than just their bodies interchanging as it has to do with her brother who lacks confidence and a man who doesn’t know how to take the work NO…. It was funny and luckily it has a happy ending for two couples, not just one!!! Melinda does it again with her crazy stories.

As soon as I read the synopsis of the book, I was immediately interested; we rarely see books or any other type of entertainment that uses the “swapped bodies” plot – I don't know if this is because they generally find this type of story difficult to conduct without ending up making some mistakes in the course of writing, or simply because few people are interested in this type of plot.
I really liked Kade and Sora – even though I questioned some of her decisions, and also sometimes questioned the way they were both acting and handling the situation they were in. I liked even more that the book didn't have any useless characters to fill in the role.
In summary the book is good, funny and delivers an unusual plot. For those looking for something light, The Package Swap is a good choice.
“I’ll never take for granted being myself again. Even when I’m in deep shit like I am now.”
You never learn the why it happened or the how and it completely skips the I Love Yous.
This story was off to a great start. What's there is hilarious, it's well written with good description and you could really feel some of the awkward. The biggest issue is what's not there which is how you get from having sex once to being married with children without ever confessing feelings of love or creating a believable redemption arc. Like they both grow as characters but it's like instant whiplash change instead of small changes to eventual character growth. I went into the epilog confused as hell because it was like how did we get from a jail cell to a wedding? It's like the story is only a few scenes from a larger romance and the rest was never written.
This RomCom is quite the rara avis! The author has given us an unique storyline that may be unbelievable but is nonetheless fun to follow along the two main characters’ lives. Kade and Sora are the victims of an unknown force that results in them body swapping every Friday. This allows them to have some interesting experiences and feelings in and out of each other’s body. The only thing that I wished had been fleshed out a little more was the ending. Yes there was an HEA, but several loose ends remained for me. Despite that I’m still recommending this book for your reading enjoyment. PEACE.

Kade is a growly, ruthless, and cutthroat, alpha billionaire, and he hires Sora who is shy, and her brother to redeem his image and solve his PR problem. When Sora and Kade shake hands, electricity shoots up their arms, and when they wake up the next morning, they have swapped bodies, which happens every Friday for 24 hours, and then they swap back. This is a good story which is fun, sweet, humorous, and with witty banter, family, friendships, and is an entertaining and light-hearted page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was a little hesitant about a body swap book but this one totally surprised me. It was funny, well-written and for being a shorter book had a good amount of character development. The author kept me guessing about what would happen next and I’m so glad Sora and Kade were able to work together against their problems and not have an unnecessary, drawn out (overdone) issue among themselves. If you want a quick, giggle inducing read this ones for you.

This entertaining and unique book was a humorous and romantic story with amazing characters who had some unbelievable things happen to them. If they told anyone else the strange things they experienced, no one would have believed them. They have to work through each swap and deal with each other's lives and trying not to screw up anything along the way. Things come to a head and they have to trust that the other can handle it while falling for each other along the way. I loved this story.

They say some of the best relationships start as friends, but what happens between Kade and Sora definitely is unique but might be the best way to get to know someone.....literally. A unique and hilarious twist that keeps you thinking about what you would do in someone else's body, especially if it was someone you were extremely attracted to. A definite opposites attract situation with an undeniable soft spot for them both. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Sora has been hired to work on the PR of Kade, but when she wakes up one Friday, they have switched bodies. Loved the situations she/he get into when they each try to make things better for the other person. Laughed a lot as they got used to bathrooms and clothing. Imagine having all week to think of ways to make someone look better in others eyes and help people for a change. Enjoyed the storyline and how things worked out in the end.

Not liking someone even though you have an attraction to them is interesting. It’s also interesting when you wake up the next morning because you guys actually swapped bodies. This is a totally grown-up version of freaky Friday that turns romantic and all forms of the word. Funny. Point of you is definitely one for the top 10 that I liked about this book. Some of the things that the heroine did I didn’t like even though it leads to a HEA.

I want to start by saying I really enjoyed this book. It was fun and lighthearted.
I loved Kade and Sora’s relationship. It was fun and full of lusty awkwardness. It was so fucking hilarious when they switched bodies and tried to adapt to each other’s lifestyle.
I found myself laughing and cheering for Kade and Sora the whole time. Their banter was absolute perfection.
𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦: Billionaire romance, grumpy/sunshine, boss/employee, body swap, frenemies to lovers, opposite attract, forced proximity
This book was completely ridiculous, I loved it! It was hilarious from the start, she was right, he did acted like a supervillain at first, then she got him to be good and he became Batman 🤣🤣🤣🤣! But there were two things that really bothered me though; first, the nephew was just gross, it would have been fantastic if someone put him in his place! I also don't like that that seems to be permanent, there should be a way of stopping it!
This was a fun read. Sora and Kade's story really had me laughing. This book is a definite mood lifter and is sure to brighten your day. I thought this book read easily and it gave me some solid feels. If don't mind over-the-top and zany, this book is well worth the read. This is my unbiased, unsolicited review.
This was such an adorably funny story a la Freaky Friday! Just imagining switching bodies with someone you hate/love and what you discover about them kept me in stitches! Then how they ended up was so steamy and their HEA was epic!

Kade and Sora have a freaky Friday ever fri ! This was such a fun read ! From finding out you’re waking up in the wrong body to the trying to figure out how to wager way through. In a few spots it would’ve been OK to go a little more in depth as to what was going on but overall a very enjoyable book
