Feelings develop, and when Sam’s little secret is revealed, it threatens to tear apart everything they’ve started. I enjoyed this slightly more than the first book, the female main character was the only one to bug me this time and definitely not as much as the one in the first. Plus it was easy to mostly overlook with what she went through, she certainly will inspire many.
The plot was just as good if not better than the first, yes like the first book some things are left unanswered but I saw the growth of the author within the pages and that made me proud as I love watching authors smash goals and work so hard to bring us amazing reads.
Eagerly diving into the next book to see what was going on with that ending.

I'm really addicted to this series because it's not only romance, but a whole lot of suspense which is totally my jam. Summer hasn't been getting along with her sister for some time, and that sister pretty much told her that Summer would never amount to much. I had to state that so y'all would know that Summer has no self confidence anymore even though she's been getting her life in order. She's just about down with her training to become an EMT, and is working at a church part time on the books which is how she was thrown in the crossfire of some pretty dangerous stuff. See, a donor came to her to show her that something was going on with that donation, and that donor was found dead in the parking lot afterwards. Now Summer is in the crossfire of whatever is going on with a target on her back which is how she comes face to face with Sam, a detective that she is instantly attracted to. He feels the same, but he has a secret that could stop them before they start, plus there's that whole keeping her safe part as the twists & danger is coming in hot. I couldn't get enough of this story, and am excited for Autumn's story next, so I'll end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO ALL!

What a great book!

Summer worked a couple jobs while studying to become an EMT. Her part-time job as an accountant for a church pulled up some big discrepancies in the donations. First a sweet older woman came to her asking about her $50,000.00 donation was not covering the final costs. Summer saw the check was cashed but not by the deposit stamp the church uses. She made copies of everything and said she'd check it out. Local cops talked to her and Sam was given the case. Sam was also her bodyguard after finding out the woman who donated the money was murdered. Then things started getting worse. Summer's house was blown up (with her inside), she almost died, was blinded by the bomb, kidnapped and threatened with being shot. You have to read how everything went. I've left things out so you can discover how good this book is. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have. :)

This is the 2nd book in this fascinating series and is Sam and Summer’s journey. Summer is studying to become a paramedic, and she is working at a local church as a bookkeeper till she finishes her studies. When Summer picks up a discrepancy in a large donation, she follows the correct channels and reports is. Sam is a detective in the fraud division who is assigned to Summer’s case, and he convinces her to go undercover with him for the investigation. As the person who made the donation is murdered, there is a killer out there who is out there which leaves Summer with a target on her back. This is a well written tale which is intriguing, thrilling, and with secrets, suspense, and danger, which had me on tenterhooks throughout this riveting and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

An easy read which I enjoyed. Summer had her issues but I loved her desire to be independent despite her injuries. She was smart and observant, but did not realize the danger around her until it was too late. Sam was so sweet and protective, and I was proud that he quickly accepted his love for Summer. The banter between Sam and his friends/co-workers was amusing. I definitely enjoyed this story.

I loved this one! This is a must read, it's quick and so full of action to keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat! You will feel all the emotions Summer is going through, and when her savior Samuel comes to help her and keep her safe, you will love him also! 5 stars for this one, this series so far is a must read!

Summer is strong and determined. Her sister called her flighty and Summer was hell-bent on making it on her own until someone gets killed and she is caught right in the middle. It just so happens that Sam is the detective assigned to her case and he is drop-dead gorgeous. Can he protect her or will their romance explode instead? Thrilling, exciting, and fun all in one package.
