The title says it all. Canon Groulx had his good sides none of which can be seen in this book which exhorts the French speaking Catholics of North America to be true to their race.

Roman bien de son temps. Beaucoup de longueurs, peu d'action. Les personnages sont unidimensionnels sans profondeur. Dénouements prévisibles.
Malgré tout ça, j'ai apprécié ma lecture. c'est une oeuvre qui fait du bien.
L'appel de la race est une ode à l'identité canadienne française. Un cri du coeur pour sa survie.
