This book was amazing. Everything was a guessing game, and when I thought I was close...I was not lol. This story is full of drama, suspense, intrigue, lust, love, and of course a plot twist you do not see coming. Eric and Havi are both working for CBI . Married with a beautiful daughter, and for all outward appearances in a happy and loving marriage. On the inside their both living a life that is a lie and filled with many destructive and dangerous secrets. Eric feels he can no longer trust Havi, and does not understand why she is hiding things from him. He becomes a jealous, untrusting, and unhappy husband. Havi is withholding a great deal from Eric as she helps her ex Terrence out, and one time turns into many times over. The story takes us thru their glimpses of the past, as it also navigates the present. You will not know who to believe, what is real, and what is a lie. This book was good and unexpected, and I did not put it down until I reached the end.
Very well written. I like this author's style. This is the second book I have read in this series. I rated this one a 4 (really 4.5) because it kept me at the edge of my seat. Lots of twists and turns. I couldn't give it a 5-star rating because of the h, Haviland. I usually do not rate a book based on the likeability of a character but in this instance, I made an exception. Full disclosure, I read the recommendations and felt somewhat prepared so I wasn't completely blindsided by Hav's actions. But even as I write this review, I feel my hackles rise with a reminder of how unsatisfying it was to read about a character like her. Maybe not so much the character but the part she plays in the tension. Without giving any spoilers, I will just note that I finished believing she didn't get what she deserved. By the end of the book, I was pulling for another character, Devon. I hope she gets a story. Overall a really good read that I would recommend but I would give folks a heads up.
Greed wins only for a short time, and trust is everything. Hav and Eric Sawyer is at a crossroads for but a moment. Eric has a hard-on for her former partner/ex-boyfriend Terrance. Eric is sure that the case he is building against him sticks; however, while he’s attempting to keep his wife off the case. Someone on his team is making a payday and hoping to take Hav down any way she can to get Hav out of his life.
A good suspenseful read. One question, though, where is Devon.
Hav and Eric are a married couple working in law enforcement in the same office but they are so far disconnected in their private lives keeping secrets. Hav working with her ex to take down his father in law and protect her brother while her husband and boss in working to bring down her ex and rid her of his existence. Fighting corrupt insecurity they finally came together. There are still some unanswered questions. Looking forward to the next book
How do you call this genre?! Romantic thriller ?! well, I don’t know but it’s good!!!! Believe me, this book is going to keep you on guessing, word of advice: don’t judge anyone until you read the full story… 😉 I don’t want to leave any spoilers, so all I am saying it’s a great read. Get yours snd enjoy the web of greed, betrayal, ‘entrapment’, mistrust, misjudgment, lies, the list goes on and on … etc…
This was my 1st time reading a book from this author. I didn’t know what to expect, but I wasn’t disappointed. This book will take you on a ride and just when you think you’ve figured everything out the author surprises you and takes you in a different direction. Give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
It was good I just didn't like hav she literally was lying to her husband and blaming him when they got into a fight she would just talk about random stuff and manipulating Eric like what? Then she takes the kid away from him for something she did I didn't trust her I would've divorced Eric wasn't a bad husband she was a bad wife I said what I said
Loved it, did not see that coming wow. I have enjoyed every one of these books, a really good romantic suspense set. I recommend if you like this genre you will not be disappointed.
My second reading from this author it was brilliantly written. This book was gripping and kept me guessing i did not expect all the turns and twist. It would be nice for Dana to get her own story maybe or feture in a prequel to Havilland and Eric story.
I loved this book. It has great characters, mystery and suspense. Very well written. I hope there is a sequel so we can find out what happens to Devon.
This book was full of action, exciting twist and turns kept me reading couldn't put it down Eric finally got to the bottom of it and got his marriage back on track.
