PORCELAIN: Will she never set him free?

Rate this book
WILL SHE NEVER SET HIM FREE? That day I set out on my bike for a week of cycling around the borders I did not believe in ghosts. Maybe if I am being honest, I did not even believe in people anymore. For six days I charged headlong into relationships, friendships, and trouble. It was not just what was in front of me that made the journey so memorable. No matter who I met or where I ended up, she was always following in my shadow. At the time I had no idea who she was or what I had done to deserve the porcelain lady hunting me down. I know now of course, but it is too late to save me. Guilt or reality? As the week went on, I lost the ability to know the difference. The one thing I always understood from the start was that the journey had to end with just the two of us confronting each other at long last.He had seven days left, she had forever. This is a fantastic tale as to how a person can be haunted in a way that few supernatural stories have touched on before. The ending I assure you, you will never see coming, and if I could give 6 stars I would. Highly recommended. The best ghost stories are subtle. The best of the best incorporate a narrative that affects the reader at some deep level. This story delivered.I devoured this book. It was a great story. It pulled me in, and I couldn't stop reading. The characters were colourful and relatable. It kept me guessing until the end. The story moved smoothly through twists and turns. I will recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great book.

"This is fucking Scotland you idiot, of course, the weather was going to kick you in the nuts."

I didn't enjoy this one at all. It isn't a bad book, by any means. It's well written and I'm sure others will enjoy.
However, I struggled with this one. I'm not overly fond of books in first person so from the start I struggled a little. But the story follows a lone man cycling across Scotland so a lot of it is internal monologue. The only time I felt it got interesting was when he came across other people.
Some odd things happened in the book but there was never any real explanation. The twist at the end was slightly unexpected but for me, just wasn't enough. This one is advertised as a horror, but honestly, nothing scary actually happened.

Different

This wasn't what I was expecting when I started reading it and certainly wasn't expecting the twist ,it took me a while to get into the story but when I did I was totally hooked, the characters were great esp Maggie I loved her and she was such a upbeat person after her awful life, and Grant was just looking for some peace which made me feel so sad for him ,I can't and hope never to have to deal with what he did but the author done a great job of describing the hopelessness and loneliness of losing someone even though the person is still there ,was a good story and I'd recommend

Struggled to get into the narrative style initially and the pacing was a bit all over the place but the characterisation and sense of place was strong and the author nailed the ending, tying the loose threads together in a perfectly chilling way.
