I loved the stories and how he managed to get himself out of some pretty insane circumstances. I loved that he forged ahead despite a physical handicap. I loved the happy ending.
But forgive me if I NEVER want to take an uber ANYWHERE! Ha!

Some fun stories in this too-short book. Would love to read many, many more of these ridiculously crazy people he's giving rides to. I imagine these characters aren't unique to LA, either. No matter where you go, people are going to be jerks and crazy. I read it in one night, wanting to keep going to see if he could top the previous craziness in the next story. Hopefully he'll have a second volume out at some point!
I didn’t know what to think when i started reading this book, but after about 3 chapters i was fascinated by his interesting stories about driving for a living. Some stories are funny, some sad, but never boring. The ending is shocking. Enjoy everyone, and don’t forget to buckle up.
I used to be a limousine driver and lyft and Uber come along and basically destroyed our industry. BUt the book was interesting with all the crazy stories. I remember myself in some of them in Quite a few of the stories.

Just a random Kindle book in my collection and one at least my general curiosity drives me to pick up to see what could be found inside.
Shockingly True Uber Stories is a collection of stories provided by the author after he has driven for at least the two main rideshare programs. As a result he focuses each chapter on answering commonly asked questions from curious-bodies while providing readers with stories about his own experiences or in some cases the experiences of other drivers as well as passengers when he is unable to provide them himself.
The book was interesting but very basic telling with spelling mistakes as well as some grammatical ones throughout. Furthermore he chose to use All Caps for all his yelling matches, which grew old fast, and was very repetitive throughout his tellings whether it was the localized story in that chapter or repeating it later on to make his valid point of just how much people don't pay attention to things around them.
The stories although slightly crazy weren't too extreme off so they could have been told by any other person working in a job that caters to customers to the face. And at the same time, though, W. Sage also provides the reader with whole chapters that really don't focus on Uber stories such as the one that was about all the money he made manipulating their referral system until they closed that system down, his vacations in Italy as a result of the previous mentioned activity and also just how he responds to people randomly jumping in his car when he wasn't working (nothing to imply whether he had decals or a sign stating that he was a driver.
What I really did enjoy about this book is the fact that basically the author does confront some well-known issues about humans in general such as the ever-present need to be plugged into the phone instead of being present, the crazed phenomena of ESAs that aren't actual ESAs and of course the wild change from don't accept rides from a stranger to willy-nilly accepting rides or giving rides to people that we don't know from Adam. And then with the last secret revealed about the author, his confession that indirectly he is a dangerous driver and the fact that he is out on the street driving when he most likely shouldn't just makes me happy I haven't participated in any of these companies while at the same time wanting to steer far clear of them well into the future.
Otherwise if you are into such real stories then this may be up your alley for a quick read but not likely one that you will come back to read a second time..
All you ever wanted to know about driving for a ride sharing company by someone who did
As a "tell all"account of one person's experience driving for a drive share the standards I judge the lit. merits are totally different. What becomes most important is clarity. While not the most thrilling book the action is clearly described.
My heart goes out to this very very hard working man! He tells his grim reality of a sordid industry , where he was trying to make a living as he endured incredible odds with health limitations. Not many people would have the strength and fortitude he had. This book really speaks as to how selfish people are. How narrow minded as well. I hope the author has moved on to better employment.
An interesting set of stories about driving for Lyft and Uber. At the same time its not much different than what I've heard and read about from taxi drivers. Still it's well written and interesting.
Interesting and uniquely deliveries. The individually stories were nice and his finish was very enjoyable. A book to remember for the not so good days of life. Definitely worth a buck.
You would think that an Uber driver would have some pretty unique stories to tell. But these stories were really not that interesting, and you could tell it was written by somebody that didn’t have a decent handle of the writing craft or how to tell a story. This just wasn’t good.
A shocking tale of what Uber drivers go through. A short book but you get a new respect for what they deal with and how little they are compensated. The stories are unbelievable as told by one driver during the Covid lockdown.
The Sage has truly done something miraculous here. Not just how he was somehow able to drive for Uber and Lyft in this condition, but to write the book in this way, having the patience to save the most shocking secret for the finale, realizing that the stories are wildly entertaining enough even without the shocking revelation at the end. He could've just told us right in the beginning, to make sure he had our attention, but to save it for the end, changing everything, was masterful. And the fact that all of this is actually true, is nothing short of a miracle.
