Beast Mates #1

Blind Beast Mate

Rate this book
When life deals a wild card, play it no matter the cost.

Since the day Rey’s defiance earned her a blinding blow to the head, fear has hovered as close as the guide dog that clings to her side. But the terror that grips her now is almost beyond description.

Like her sister before her, Rey has been sold to satisfy the lusts of one of the alien Beasts that now rule the Earth. If the towering, leather-clad Alpha discovers his prize can’t see, he could kill her with a flick of his claw. Or worse, send her home—where the only mercy she’ll get is a bullet.

From the moment the Alpha Beast spotted Rey smiling tenderly at her flowers, his desire to own her, body and soul, roared louder than his bike’s throaty engine. But the only smiles his new pair aims his way are forced—and oddly off target. She is liquid heat in his arms, yet ignores the notes and gifts he leaves for her.

If he can’t win her over, he can’t trust her with his own truth. And the combined weight of their secrets could destroy everything.

***This dystopian romance for adults features one brave heroine paired with one sweet, unapologetic, possessive, protective Alpha male Beast. If you're looking for "mating trope" with fleshed out characters in a steamy romance novella and HEA click it now!

Great little read 3.5 to 4*

This is a dystopian read and the future is bleak, especially for Rey. Her Uncle killed her father and her sister and then took over the Beast Pairing Program where he's arranged an alien beast husband for her.
To make it worse Rey is almost completely blind, she defied her uncle who picked up a pitchfork and swung at her, she lost most of her eyesight due to head trauma.
So she's being married off to the Alpha Beast who has no idea she's blind, if he finds out and returns her she's looking at a bullet in the head.
So we have Rey married to a husband she can't see, living in a place that's new with no idea where she is or what she's to do.
Her Alpha Beast husband is trying his best to please his new wife, he's leaving notes and presents but she can't even be bothered to read the notes or check the gifts.
Life is not looking good.
I really enjoyed this book, I liked the characters and the setting I only wish it had been longer.
I was left with questions mainly about her sister for example why would she have run away from her Beast pairing back to the life she had, surely the pairing must have been an improvement over the hell she lived.

The only thing I liked about this was the premise. Blind girl gets sold to an alien overlord as a bride. She hides her blindness out of fear of being returned to her mean uncle.

Too full of OTT sex when the whole story of when he would figure out she was blind should have been playing out. The aliens were not developed at all. Why is the alien's name Jamie???? Why were they all about human style BDSM? Etc.

Story took about 3 days, Insta love.

At least it was free on KU.

“Make him happy. If he returns you because he expected a trophy wife and not a blind bitch, I’ll put a bullet in your useless head. This community depends on their money and on pretty girls like you, so spread your legs the minute you hear his belt unsnap. Your momma must’ve taught you something.”

Dystopian world, Great Nuclear War survivors in a religious society, Beast aliens are looking for human brides through the Beast Pairing Program, Horrific earth community with perverted hunting games, The nasty uncle sells the orphan girl to the Alpha Beast who likes sex games, Beasts that look and behave like bikers, How nobody at the wedding realized that she is blind?, Talking house, Cute guardian dog, Horrific earth community and bad uncle get punished. Short story, not boring, interesting concepts.

What a horrible read!
description
Haven't read any Milana Jacks books before, but I certainly was surprised and not a in a good way...
Of course, the blurb ensnared me and I was interested in the heroin in particular.
If I only knew what was in store for me I would have definitely done my best to avoid it.

description

The story starts fairly well with the introduction of our heroine. Her pov was really well done describing the tragic odyssey of her life. An evil uncle killed her father, married her mother, killed her sister and almost abused her. She's had the worst of luck and has lost her sight. Tragic, I know...
So to add to her drama she's sold to be married to a stranger. An alien werewolf biker of some sort. I kid you not!
description
The alpha Beast's name is Jamie and he's looking for a wife. And Rey is absolutely terrified he'll realize she's defective and not the perfect bride that was promised.

The pace was quick. The characters were well done. But the writing was awful. The dialogues were horrible... Choppy and the intimacy threw me off a little because it tries to show bdsm but it doesn't reflect it in any way. For those who do not know me. I do not mind curse words and explicit sex. Yet the use of it was all wrong! It was pure hell to finish this book. The whole romance/sex was poorly executed and the ending went full speed.
description
The story is kind of sweet but honestly failed to truly hook me and even enjoy it.
By the way, why the hell is the alien's name Jamie?
Truly no effort to make this even a little feasible for me to process.

I can't take it anymore... 2.5 Stars.
Not recommended.

I would have given this a zero rating if I could. The ideas are interesting but the writing is... just bad. That is putting in nicely. I did not expect Shakespeare or even Loretta Chase level writing here, they are in a category of their own for all the best reasons, but this is just an idea thrown together with a lot of plot points and random events. I just felt that the author wanted to get from A to D as quickly as possible without going through B and C. Some writers can do that in plot but they usually explain B and C later on in the story, this did not do that and really did not even explain anything. There is so much that can be done with this and so much of this world that needs to be fleshed out, detailed, and really just rewritten. This is a first draft, of a first novel, out of many; not ready to be published.

Rey the prey and Jamie the scary alien beast... or so they say. I liked it but it was odd. Not safe
In a dystopian future, Earth was ruined by us and then taken over by 'the beasts'. The world building is pretty sketchy but it is less than a hundred pages. The beasts and humans have segregated themselves. The human 'Communes' sell their girls to the Beasts as mates. Rey's commune is run by psychopathic murderous creeps (her family) and decide to get rid of her by selling her to the beasts. They make sure the Alpha Beast doesn't discover her blindness before they get their money.
Well its a far fetched tale to the point of ridiculousness. How did Jamie not notice she was blind earlier? How do these beasts not keep better track of humans with their superior tech etc.
Well if you are looking for decent sci fi... this book is not for you. But if you like implausible romances set in fantasy, you might enjoy this bit of fairy tale fluff like Beauty and the Beast set in a post WW3 future.

Enjoyable dystopia paranormal story. Heroine, Rey and her hero, Alpha beast, Jamie were a memorable and smexy pair. She had to hide her blindness from her Alpha beast in order to live a better life away from her greedy Uncle Sam who caused her blindness and no-good mother in Community 7 but little did she know, she was Jamie's TRUE MATE.

I loved this series! Vice and Delwyn's story is next in "Wild Beast Mate."

3.5 to 4 stars!!!!!!!

Lol only a brave author would take on so much - alien invasion by 'wolfy' beasts who roar about on their sky-bikes with a full on MC club lifestyle while the poor blind h tries to survive in her post-apo home-world..
Total identity crisis or clever way to pull in readers of different genres? :D

The book is raw and the writing is not quite there, confusing at times - with its mixed up and messed up world but surprisingly, there's still a mild charm, a freshness, even angst that hits you sporadically.

So this author also wrote Alien Fae Mate which I surprisingly enjoyed a whole lot, even though I don’t usually like any sort of fae related story. So when the author reached out to me to see if I’d like to read and review Blind Beast Mate, I couldn’t help but jump all over it so I could see if this was a fluke, or if I just really enjoy this author’s work.

Turns out I really enjoy this author’s work. There’s definitely more dark elements to this story then there was for AFM but I think that made me enjoy it more. There was a sense of danger where our heroine is desperately trying to hide the fact that she is actually blind. She fears that the mate she’s been sold to will either kill her, or return her to her abusive step-dad. Neither of which she obviously wants.

This is a super short story, and ridiculously easy to get into. At least in my opinion. I read it in about 45 minutes and would definitely say it’s one I would re-read. I just really love how Milana Jacks can create so much imagery within such a short amount of pages. If you haven’t read anything by this author yet, I highly recommend you do so. Especially if you’re a fan of romance with the paranormal twist. And by paranormal I’m talking different alien species. But I really can’t put this into the sci-fi category as it just doesn’t feel like it belongs there. PNR seems to be a better fit.

Thank you so much to the author for providing me a copy of this story, in exchange for my honest review.

I throughly enjoyed this story. Loved that freaking dog. Shockingly awesome Hero who was packing a 12 inch, hard, baby making shooter. Goodness. I ended up reading three of this authors PN books in a row. Completely out of the norm for me. I'm too tired to do a full review but I believe reading this book will not let you down.

Full packed with plot. I wished the story hadn't ended or that it was a series.
Thank you Nikki for turning me on to this author even though she made me gag some, reading her Dirty wolf novel.

The writing has problems, but I like the world, characters and adult steamy parts.
Very quick read.
Wish they were better written, but....
Oh well.
And yes, I will probably read the next and the next.

4.5 stars....pnr/sci-fi crack right here. Damn I love this series, just can't quit reading it....probably why I'm so damn tired *winks*.

This series is set in the future where Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and "beast" people have come and taken over. Replanted trees and helped to provide things. Please note that the humans in these books are highly unpleasant....not the beast. Just felt I needed to put that out there and clarify.

Jamie is the beast alpha and he finds his mate in one of the crooked communities. The communities sale the beast their "pairs", which honestly would be what I would choose, because the shit that goes on in those communities *shake my head*, tragic really.

Rey is Jamie's mate and a real sweetheart. They don't tell him she's blind and she's afraid to, because she thinks he'll take her back. So with that info being held their is a little pushing away on her part. She doesn't know that he will adore her no matter what.

These two are the epitome of naughty and nice. He adores her, but behind closed doors....naughty all the way. Freaking love it.

Book type:

Science fiction romantic comedy & oddly dystopian.

My thoughts:

This was a fun book to read! I really liked the hilarious verbal banter between Jamie & Rey. Almost every chapter had me smiling or laughing. I'm going to reread this book when I'm in need of something to brighten my day.

Overall, this was a sweet romance that was also a little bit dark & kinky.

Earth has had wars that have brought civilization to a crippled point. Then aliens invade and take over the whole place.
The aliens are called Beasts. They are large and wolf like.
Humans pretty much have to give them what they want since they rule over Earth.

The Beasts really read like Bikers. The heroine has gone through some horrific shit, and in the end, her Beast makes things right.
Sweet, but not romantic.
Recommended as filler only.

Ingenious; sexy; fun!!!

You aren't my pair Rey. You're my mate. You are the center of my universe. That's what a mate is to a beast male. by Jamie

Wow! The cover is perfect! The title also adds to the reading journey of this book. The play with light and shadow, the color, or better yet, the lack of vivid colors and the female's face is perfect for Rey. I love the city's background and the little distortions of the skin.
The author has created this fantastic setting of a dystopian world that has been dominated by Beasts, the ones that are trying to bring Earth back to its potential. World-building is key here, and it has been masterfully done.
It is a really unique book, totally different from anything that I've read before.
The plot is cohesive, with no typo mistakes that I can remember.
It's a fast-paced read, that keep you guessing and wanting more at the end. OH, I wish this was a full novel, it had so much more to be explored. This must become a series!!!
This book is hot, hot, hot! Yeah, no sweet, tender-love-caring romance here. It's raw, with some light BDSM and great chemistry between the main couple.
Very addictive book that can be read in one sitting!
OMG! I love both main characters. The female has entered my favorite's list. She is such a great duality between kick-ass and fragile that I've almost loved her instantaneously. The male is also my favorite type: very alpha, dangerous and sexy. Even though he is bossy, he knows when to back-off and give his girl some room.
This book is funny. I love the couple's interaction, is as much light-hearted as is intense. There is a perfect balance going on.  :)

Making her yours meant conquering her pussy with might, fucking her to oblivion to get her in heat. by Jamie

Review 2

I believe this could and should have been a full novel. There is so much more to be explored, that I've ended the book feeling like, where is the next?
I love an amazing plot, but at the heart of the matter I'm a character reader. Because this is such a short read, we don't learn much about other characters besides the main ones. There was the beginning of a sub-plot with whom I believe will be the main couple of book 2 (I'm certain this will be a series), but it was not enough.

Life dealt me a wild card, I thought. Jamie was my wild card. by Rey

You MAY buy this book because you enjoy erotic reads, you SHOULD buy this book if you enjoy dystopian, futuristic stories; but you MUST READ this book if you are ready for innovative plot with out-of-this-world characters!!!

Bloody hell,

This novella is something else.
But sometimes you have to read something so badly written, to get a new perspective.

I love me some Alien books. I also like to read Biker books from time to time. Here we have the super duper ridiculous crossbreed of Bikeraliens. With a brain the size of a potato and a language spectrum not having advanced after the Stone Age.
No real plot, no world building and the world we get to know is uncreative at best. No development or depth to anything at all. Just a succession of events.

Voilà Blind Beast Mate by Milana Jacks.

Very proud of Ms. Jacks!! Loved the world building and I wasn't expecting to be so entertained from a novel that promised so much heat on the cover. Granted, there was a lot of sexy. I wish there was more to the story, but am happy that this is a number one in the series.

Talk about an intriguing heroine. The title def made sense once I realized her secret. Overall Nasty Motherfucking Read! Which is how I like it on a rainy, Saturday evening! Cheers to you, Ms. Jacks!

I'm conflicted. I very much like Rey, she's a great character, a survivor even though she's not particularly strong or capable.
Jamie, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. I'm guess just pretty sick of dominating heros, but what else should I expect from the 'Beast Alpha'? They have a mate bond and he needs her, which apparently justifies all his behaviour, but Rey doesnt know that - there's no reason I can see that she should lke him at all.

It was a great fun to read with an unexpected heaviness - but in all its fitting perfect.
I liked the critical look at both sides, the cultural imperfection in both worlds and in all beings with a a deep and a winking eye 😉 good easy funny entertainment ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟

Blind Beast Mate was another short, fun read. This time its the Alpha Beast Jamie who finds his mate Rey. The moment he see's her he wants her because she's his, unfortunately the humans are very greedy and the Beast don't like them to know how important these females are to them. Rey's uncle was the worst, he is greedy and he deceives Jamie by not letting him know that Rey is what he considers damaged goods. First she isn't a virgin and second he hit her so hard that see lost her eye sight. Poor Rey is so determined to not be sent back that she does her best to please Jamie even though she can't see. Little does she know that no matter what, she belongs to Jamie and he would never let her go. Again we had naughty times and Jamie is a beast. He loves to spank and enjoys back door play. I'm really enjoying this series. I also love Beast City, it's modern with all the luxuries we are accustomed to.

This was absolutely horrible. I don’t know how it has so many five star reviews. There was absolutely no character development at all. Not even a little of what you see in the typically trashy romance novels. And the little bits of description you do get contradict each other. And the actual romance parts are even more horrendous. If you like a gross brute who shoves a girl around while she smiles like an idiot, maybe you’ll love this. But there’s not even enough development where you can actually see the appeal despite how much of a moron he is. And I was expecting this amazing, strong heroine based on the summary. This girl just lets herself get bossed around, and cries the minute she does something wrong. I’m sorry, this was awful.

...romance you say?

This was mostly a rough, crude contract marriage. While there was some sweetness at the end, the misunderstandings made a lot of the story negative.
Will the heroine ever be given equal to what the beast takes?
