Rosalind is uneasy about the presence of the Corps d’elite, a rebellious and power-hungry violent group who have appeared in Dreynenn. She hides herself and send her cat, Shadow, to find out why they are here. It turns out she was correct to be worried.
Shadow says they were looking for access to her father’s grimoires, his research and his experiments she had been guarding since his absence. When Cole attempts to help her, some sort of invisible wall made of air holds him back. Will Rosalind and Shadow be able to keep her father’s work out of the Corps’ clutches and save her family and Cole from the evil that is coming after them?
Wonderful fantasy novella romance. The book started a bit slow but it had well developed characters and storyline. It is the last book in this series. Being a fantasy the characters have their ups and downs (floating), strong feelings, flailing drama. Very delightful book. I received a complimentary copy of the book and chose to write a review.
