3.75 star--ARCHER is the second instalment in Ivy Black’s contemporary, adult BLAZING REBELS MC erotic, MC romance series. This is MC member Russell aka Archer, and baker Rose Loggins’ story line. ARCHER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.
WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Rose and Archer) ARCHER follows the building relationship between baker Rose Loggins, and MC member Archer. For approximately Archer has been visiting the Loggins family owned Eastside’s Only Bakery, but most especially the baker twenty –one year old Rose Loggins but a call from Rose’s father Ronald, finds our heroine a virtual prisoner of our story line hero when a debt is called in by the Freeway Kings. What ensues is the acrimonious and tempestuous relationship between Rose and Archer, and the potential fall-out as Rose’s attitude and anger push Archer away one last time.
Rose Loggins is a naïve, feisty, stubborn and somewhat b*tchy heroine who refuses to accept that her life is in danger. Under the care of Archer, Rose continues to push all of his buttons but when her ‘secret’ is discovered, Rose demands Archer teach her everything he knows. Archer struggles with his attraction to the woman who is currently destroying his sanity but when the Freeway Kings threaten more than her father, Archer knows it is time to call in the favour of his Blazing Rebels MC.
The relationship between Rose and Archer begins as an assignment when Rose’s father finds himself beholding to the Freeway Kings MC. To protect his daughter,Ron asks Archer to guard her with his life but guarding Rose means Archer battles between head and heart knowing his attraction to Rose is tempered by the heroine’s inability to see beyond the lies.
We are introduced to Rose’s father Ron Loggins, as well as several members of the Freeway Kings MC, and the return of the Blazing Rebels MC members: President Tank aka Oliver and his wife Evelyn, as well as Wrench and Samantha (Wrench 1), Ripper, Rooster, Crow, Maverick.
ARCHER is a story of secrets and lie, betrayal and vengeance, family, relationships, desperation and love. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the romance is spirited; the characters are stubborn but animated.
I did have an issue with the conflict resolution when the Blazing Rebels MC allowed the Freeway Kings to walk away, knowing they would return to finish the job.
First let me say that anybody who takes the time to write a book and put it out to be picked apart by the public deserves applause however, I'll give my opinion on the book. I did not finish this book.
The man whom you share half of your chromosomes with drops you off at a strangers house only telling you he'll protect you and you have pretty much nothing to say. The man, this stranger who's there to protect you, cater to you, you disrespect in his own home. Nobody can be this stupid, selfish, and rude no matter how sheltered. So suffice it to say I couldn't read any more about this rude child.
Archer by Ivy Black is in places quite a dark story and yet at times it's so tender and sweet, Archer has been attracted to Rose for a long time, he admired her at a distance for years but has always considered her out of his league. But when her father gets involved in some shady dealings which have put her in danger he finds himself agreeing to keep her safe.
Rose has run her father’s bakery for ages, what she knows of Archer she dislikes but by some strange circumstance, it's him who has agreed to protect her when her father's dealings put her in danger. Their story is told in such a way that you can't help wanting them to be together but will their differences keep them apart?
Lots of secrets and even more lies to go along with the danger and deception in this well-written moving and sweet romance, that said Archer will be called upon to put it all on the line in order to protect Rose.
Archer is a member of the Blazing Rebels who is living the single MC life to its fullest. Rose is the baker that he is chasing and she keeps turning him down. Rose's father gets into trouble with the Freeway Kings and come to the Blazing Rebels to keep Rose safe. Archer steps up seeing it as a means to get closer to Rose since she can't get away from him. Rose turns out to be a very naïve but very feisty roommate and in the beginning the two of them fight like brothers and sisters. When Rose figures out Archer can teach her some life lessons, she loosens up. This was a fun, quick read that had plenty of steam and some action. Hoping Crow's story is next!

This is the second book in this series, and this is Russell / Archer and Rose’s story. Rose runs the family bakery and Archer has had his eye on her for a while, and when her father gets himself into some hot water with a rival MC the Freeway Kings, he approaches the Blazing Rebels to protect his daughter Rose from danger. Rose is feisty, stubborn, and innocent, and she is now Archer’s new roommate, and she certainly gives him a run for his money. This is a well written story which is fast paced, and with emotions, and is a raw and gritty read, with secrets, lies, suspense, danger, betrayal, vengeance, action, family, and love, which leads to a steamy and entertaining riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend.
I finished this book in a day, because i skipped chapters. I hate it when i am unable to connect with a character because it is so poorly written. Rose was not a nice character. There is a difference between showing a sassy heroine and just a plain rude one. Rose was just plain mean and a horrible person until the last chapter. She was constantly judgy and rude to Archer. Anyone who cussed out Archer in Wrench will fall in love with this character. He was sweet, adoring and overall a cutiepie who will bring a smile on your face.3 stars are just for Archer and not the story or character writing for Rose.
Maybe the writer gets better in the next book of the series but unfortunately i do not have the courage or mood to read another book.
I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. The second book in the Blazing Rebels MC series is about Archer and Rose. It was a good story. Archer is a member of the MC. He wants Rose but has his doubts. Her father gets in a mess and Archer has the chance to protect her. These two get thrown together and sparks fly. Rose was a character that depending on the situation, I either liked her or I did not. The story has drama, danger, tension, stubbornness, family, trust, lust and love. The characters had an attraction that could not be denied.

Although Archer has been attracted to Rose for quite some time, he’s convinced she is out of his league and won’t act on his feelings. But when her father gets involved in some bad stuff, and Rose is in danger because of it, Archer is called to protect her. Which he is more than happy to do! But can he keep his attraction at bay while she is with him every day and he’s protecting her? What follows is a story full of lies/deceptions and a sweet love story woven in. Despite all of their differences, can they find a way to be together! You won’t be disappointed as you read to find out!
I’ve read sooooo many books and rarely do I come across characters that are just outright annoying. Stupid? Yes. Immature? Sure. But annoying? Rosey cakes wins the award for that one.
HOWEVER I have to say, it suits her. It’s fitting for a child that was extremely sheltered and doesn’t really understand the ways of the world.
Archer is an absolute sweetheart. His resilience and willingness to make Rose happy is just…adorable.
Overall a great read. I took the 1 star away because Rose bothered me by being ungrateful and annoying lol
I like the series but at the same time the bikers seem so dense. Like duh. Still was hoping that Wrench was the only one riding a Honda bike. Still needs another read through and fix the errors. Since Rose hasn't been in a real school setting before and never been around other people she needs to tone that attitude down a bit and first learn about real life. I'm one of those people who if I start a series and it's not really long I like to finish it so off to book 3.... This should be interesting.... it's Crow's!!
I have been devouring Ivy Black’s books and have made her a one-click read. Archer brought everything that I love in my MC books. Rose was a feisty woman whose life is now on the line thanks to her father. The Freeway Kings MC is coming for them and her dad asked Archer to keep her safe…whether she likes it or not. I’m loving the guys from the Blazing Rebels MC and this book like the others brings some of the best of the MC world.
I really enjoyed this story, despite having a negative opinion of Archer from a previous story, although this story can easily be read as a standalone. I loved observing Archer grow to try and be worthy of Rose who is a bit of an oddball, but endearing nonetheless. Surprisingly enough this story left me hankering for another from this MC, and it needs to be Crow!

Archer was instantly drawn to Rose the moment he saw her at the bakery and when her father gets into debt with the Freeway Kings, Archer steps up to protect her, but being new room buddies is about to get a lot hotter! Rose doesn't want to feel the draw towards a criminal biker but he cant deny the feelings he brings and she wants him, but can he keep her safe? well written steamy, sassy, action, suspense desire filled and more! a great addition to the series.
Archer: MC Biker Romance (Blazing Rebels Motorcycle Club Romance Book 2) By Ivy Black Another great book in this series .. At first I did not like her bratty ways toward Archer, but then I realize it was her dad who alienated her from the world!!!! I can’t wait for the next book… I recommend this series ….
This is the second book in the Blazing Rebels MC series. It’s Archer and Rose’s romantic love story. There are so many secrets and lies in this story. It’s well written and very entertaining. A great addition to the series. *this honest review is based on a complimentary copy*
Action packed, sexy, fun, engaging and emotional adventure filled with danger, suspense, and undeniable passion... an edge of your seat read from beginning to end and so hard to put down. Really enjoyed the characters I got to know on this journey.
Archer is attracted to Rose but he can't seem to get her to go out with him. Now that her father is in trouble, he offers to protect her. Now that she is living with him, he shows her a different side and they start a relationship. Will his dishonesty lead her straight to danger.
The maturity level was sorely lacking in Archer. His character was really annoying. I just could not connect with either lead person in this book. Didn’t feel like an MC book if I’m being honest. Stopped at 70% mark.
Loved this story, serious banter between the characters, and just maybe these guys aren’t as bad as I first thought. Archer is a funny guy and deserved his HEA with Rose. Can’t wait to read Crow’s story, I find him rather intriguing.
He was looking for one night and a good time. She was naïve and needing protection. What could possibly go wrong? Definitely recommend this book and series.
Rose and Archer fight like two married people. They want each other but then fight after they’ve had sex. Archer can’t say to much for protection but a ways to a mans heart is through his stomach and Rose had done that unintentionally by the way she cooks for him. Falling in love with a baker is the cutest thing I’ve ever heard. This gives almost an enemies-to-lovers vibe. She is not a true fan of him but becomes one.
