The hunt is on, and time is running out. Kasspian is drawn to Ireland by his ancestors but destiny intervenes... Her name is Cara, a wolf shifter with a mysterious past.
A spark of forbidden attraction ignites, forcing them to choose between family loyalties and their unbreakable bond. Blood wars erupt when a legendary evil seeks limitless power.
Will they survive or succumb to the ravenous dark forces?
Fantastic, action packed story!! The world building is well done with interesting creatures all around. It is packed full of action! In fact, it makes me wonder how the characters weren't exhausted and napping all the time. I liked the interactions between all the characters, especially with Gar, he's a hoot. I even liked the twist at the end!! I did have some trouble with the dialogue because Irish/Gaelic is not my forte, but it wasn't too difficult to understand and it didn't detract from the story (it definitely helped getting into the environment). It only impacted my ability to read the story at the speed I usually do, so it took me a little longer to finish. Though, I did enjoy learning the phrases and words from it. Note: It does end on a little bit of a cliff hanger, but the initial storyline is complete at the end of this book.
All in all, it's a excellent first story and I hope more come!!
This book roars out of the gate with exciting action and evolving character development, and never lets up.
Kasspian (Raff for short) travels from the States to Ireland to learn how to master his fire-based powers (he's the "Flame" in the book title). He soon meets up with the apparently unmagical Cara, a feisty Irish girl with long flowing locks (she's the "Wolf").
Sparks fly in more ways than one, as they're plunged into an adventure where paranormal enemies dog their every step.
Young adults in particular should get a kick out of this fun, fast-paced book. I loved the Irish slang, which helped make Cara's character come to vivid life. An exciting, rollicking read and I'm looking forward to book two!
The chemistry was all the way up with these two. Loved the story, had me on the edge of my seat. Such a great read, the way they shared the different povs had me needing to read wHat the other was going to do! And I loved all the irish idiosyncrasies. Now I feel like I can hang out with my Irish friend and surprise her with a few words! Lol loved it!
This high-action romp has all the elements! Danger, magic, creatures, mystery, attraction, mayhem, Irish charm . . . and the list goes on! I love the alternate point-of-views as we get to be in both their heads! Can’t wait to find out what happens next!
Such a fun and fast read - can’t wait for the other books to follow. Saw this on Vella first and was intrigued. So glad it’s all together now and I can read it over again.
I was hooked from the cover and so glad I was able to read this book, it had a great concept overall. I thought it was a strong start to the Uncharted Bloodlines series. The characters were what I was expecting from the genre and thought it worked with what I was hoping for. It left me excited to read more in this series.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Progression, Realistic emotions and romance with dark mayhem all around]
A strong love story between Cara and Raff as they navigate their world. As one Other reader commented the character POV changes can jar you a little, but by the end of the book, I was used to it and it didn’t bother me. A great balance of dark fantasy which brings in all the elements we love, but a modern twist with technology And daily life.
I enjoyed the darkness and danger that our MC’s face. The struggles and emotions related towards family, romance, and life's journey were all enjoyable. The authors did an excellent job at painting the scenes with vast detail. There was a wonderful use of word choices to show their depth of writing and their approach to the world building.
The narration started out rough at first for me. But just like the POV change, it grew on me over time and didn’t bother me.
Audiobook: This was my first experience with L. M. Hughes' and R. A. Cooper's work, and the story was absorbing. The worldbuilding was complicated as there were two worlds being represented: the one that contained the gods who interfered in the lives of mortals, and the other which featured Kasspian, an untrained mage, and Cara, who was a wolf-shifter Druid who hadn't had her first shift yet. There were hidden layers to the story which kept my attention and drew me into it. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Nicky Endres' narration was entertaining, and her performance added to my enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
A lot of people would probably love this and I might have too if I didn’t go into it with the wrong idea. The book summary talks about bloodline this and bloodline that. Unfortunately, that wasn’t what the story was about.
I got 50% of the way through the book and sure bloodlines were mentioned a couple of times (not exaggerating) they were by no means the focus of the story. Felt more like a murder mystery with a forced budding love story that made no sense.
Maybe if I had stuck with it that would have changed, but at that point it wasn’t worth it to me to force myself to keep reading to find out.
Wow! This is an incredible book and I am absolutely thrilled that this is only the first book in this series. I totally cannot wait until I can read the next book. The author has done an amazing job creating this "world" for us. You will be enthralled with this book. It's almost impossible to put down. The story grabs you right away and takes you on an amazing ride. Again, Wow!
Received this book through a goodreads giveaway. This book really had potential but it didn’t live up to what it could be. It was just okay. There really wasn’t anything special about it and if there is a sequel to this book I don’t plan on reading it.
Will Kasspian and Cara end up together or will life keep them apart. There’s danger everywhere, how will they solve these problems. An amazing story to keep you reading and fall in love with the characters. Don’t miss out.
Picked up the sample and couldn't finish. Was not tagged as YA, but the MC was a teenager. It read like a high school creative writing project. Just poor work.

Recieved this book from goodreads giveaway and regretfully I am DNFing at this time. I might try to finish later, but at the moment its hard as h*ll to get through. But this could just be me.

so many plot holes made it confusing and not in the fun way ! audiobook narrator really put in the work and there were some pretty good parts but otherwise it wasn’t the best read

Shifters, mages, and gods. The world is so well built, the tensions are high especially when one has a demonic background. Love the addition of cultivation into the shifter world. Looking forward to the next book in this world.
The Wolf and Flame is a paranormal shifter romance that focuses on Kasspian, an American with roots in Ireland as he is from a Wiccan family. He has inherited a fae pact that he has to uphold but his time is running out to receive the proper training. When he is invited to Ireland to train and meet the other Wiccan families he meets and is immediately drawn to Cara, a Wiccan/Shifter who is torn between her adoptive parents who are Wiccans, and her father's family who are shifters. Raff's mentor is killed and Raff's training is in danger as the International Council is called in to evaluate Raff and his abilities. When a traitor shows his colors and tragedy strikes close to home for Cara she and Raff have to join forces and try and find a way out for both of them.
The Wolf and Flame is a new adult novel and has many themes that are relevant today, such as family and acceptance, moral compasses and how they differ from person to person, and a strong need to protect those you love even by making terrible decisions. If you enjoy Shifter romance without the detailed action scenes you might enjoy The Wolf and the Flame.
