Ik had een paar notes gemaakt terwijl ik las zodat ik niks zou vergeten want dit boek is doodleuk 2200+ blz

Ik vond het heel goed geschreven hoe je Sirius zn opvoeding merkt in zijn gedrag. Het is logisch het is een jong kind dat 11 jaar lang is opgevoed met bepaalde idealen. Het is logisch dat hij heel veel moet leren. Erg realistisch gedaan.

Sirius zn childhood trauma was erg realistisch geschreven. Ook was de prank veranderd in deze fic. Ik vond de nieuwe versie van de prank veeeeeel beter eigenlijk. Het laat opnieuw weer zien hoe Sirius alsnog last heeft van zijn opvoeding. Ik vond het niet leuk hoe iedereen hem zo snel vergaf. De ruzie had nog iets langer door mogen gaan en ze hadden nog bozer mogen zijn (i like pain i know). Ook voelde Sirius zich nooit schuldig over wat hij bij Snape heeft gedaan. Hij vond het alleen stom dat hij nu ruzie had met zijn vrienden. Was mooier geweest als hij had beseft hoe fout hij zat met de prank.

Wolfstar vond ik leuk zoals altijd, maar t was niet mn favo manier van wolfstar. Hun love confession was midden in hun grootste ruzie ever. WHY? Geef me gewoon een leuke lieve love confession. Wat ik ook jammer vond is dat ze in de Hogwarts jaren zoveel ruzie hadden. Bro na Hogwarts wordt letterlijk alles depressed schrijf ze voor deze 2 jaar nog even blij pls.

Ik hield wel zoveel van de karakters. Iedereen was zo goed geschreven en je hield echt van iedereen. Speciale aandacht naar Marlene en Benjy. I loved them so fucking much. Toen Marlene doodging en alle herinneringen werden opgehaald door Sirius I CRIED LIKE A BABY.

De oorlogjaren waren helaas heel realistisch geschreven. Je merkt dat ze in het begin nog zoveel hoop hebben en nog moeite willen doen voor een blij leven. Hoe verder je komt hoe meer je merkt dat iedereen echt op is. Sirius en Remus stoppen bijna geen moeite meer in hun relatie want ze zijn OP. Zelfs James zn persoonlijkheid is gwn weg. Ik vond het extreem realistisch en dus erg goed. Na de Azkaban jaren was Sirius ook erg realistisch beschreven. Er werden alleen nog maar korte zinnen of woorden geschreven, omdat hij jaren als hond heeft geleefd. Man heeft TRAUMA.

Mega realistisch en mega pijnlijk dus. Het doet pijn om afscheid te nemen van zo een lange fic want ik heb m bijna een maand gelezen.

holy shit its done. i thought i’d be able to get through it cause atyd was too painful… okay it was bur i survived but this?????? i wasn’t ready to see sirius grow up in an abusive household and go crazy during the war and the azkaban omg he suffered so much i cant

so…i think that fic really defines exactly how i picture the marauders and, especially, sirius’s life.
of course, it’s not perfect. there is some aspects that i don’t exactly see it like how it happens, but i still love a lot of things on it. the ending, close to the war and the potter’s death is a rush, however i still felt all the emotions on it. definitely love it

I loved the book, tho i didn’t finish it i’m still giving it 5 stars. it’s great writing, and a great story but i just couldn’t handle the war from Sirius’ point of view. simply too painful and i’m not mentally stable enough at the moment😭 love the wolfstar in the fic

this took me soooo long omg.

few thoughts:
what bothered me right at the start is the emotional intelligence when they‘re 13?!
like „checking in“ with others and acting really mature is not something i expect from 12 year olds - not even from james haha

sadly enough it after the hogwarts part everything got reaaallly repetitive, sirius and remus bickering over something, making up and starting all over again - and i know why it was there and fit in there-

and don‘t get me wrong: i loved the deeper characterization of everyone and LONG fanfics (looking right at you, tcoptp) but i was just getting bored so bad.

then again the last part including the death of effie & fleamont and the spy took me out, this is not for the weak.

bittersweet canon ending though, without sirius and remus dying.

BUT there were so many funny and well written passages!! so here are my awards:

the most heartbreaking line of all this was:
„I should have been here too. I just- I just always believed it wasn‘t really the end.“ - james

most funny and random lines:

„I thought this was a sorting, not a therapy session“

„he didn‘t think he was the type of person to get sent lasagnes, but apparently he was“

„the long tangent about how i always make sure he had ten fingers and ten toes.“

the most (horny) hozier coded line of this was definitely:
„he tasted like salvation“

if you‘re searching for another LONG canon compliant wolfstar slowburn fic, maybe this is the right fit.

i couldn’t finish the last part. I hate reading abt Sirius in prison it actually pains me, makes me want to die.
But the story was so good especially their years at hog warts. This author really understands Sirius and the way he’s written makes so much sense.
