Bounty: 3 stars. A luxury trip to a war-torn country should be the first tip that something is wrong. Especially for a reporter who has the ability to research. Then falling for the person who kidnapped you to sell you to a psychopath warlord. It's a pretty strange story. Had moments that were hilarious (mom has hidey holes?!) but mostly cringe moments of gore and awkwardness.
Switched: 4 stars. I liked this story more, although similar character types (crazy, mouthy woman and handsome, hyper-muscular miltary/police man) and another distracted woman going on an ill-advised trip. Starts out that she is doing a house-swap like in the movie The Holiday but everything goes wrong, including on the plane ride there. Lots of unexpected, and maybe expected twists. Why doesn't she speak on the phone to the people she swaps with? Why doesn't she have someone back home who will make sure the people arrive safely? Quiet strangers are not to be trusted, but crazy partiers are fine.
