On the surface, Finley Stone is the perfect princess of her family. But beneath is an insurmountable darkness that she must unleash. She’s kept it hidden and has remained undetected for years now.
Until the king of West Luxton, her family’s former top enemy and now ally, catches her doing her worst. To protect her one and only secret that would get her thrown into a padded cell, she must do anything he says to keep it. Anything.
The Stone Princess’s problems don’t end there. As always, people are trying strike her family down from power, only this time she is the center of it and is in the most danger she’s been in since that night when she was nine years old.
Thato Carver had seen and done it all. Everyone too. He takes what he wants and does as he pleases. He was king after all, ruling over his territory with an iron fist bathed in blood and wreathed with broken glass.
But he was bored. So goddamn bored.
Until a certain blue eyed siren stepped onto his territory doing all sorts of nasty things that made the murder in his blood sing. She was off limits, forbidden, it’d ruin the peace—but she’d stepped into his web and broken his rules.
Finley Stone was going to pay and she was going to be his.
This was 100% a "can't put down" book! I stayed up way too late but I had to finish. The romance, the spice, the action - this book has everything. Finley was so relatable and I love how strong and determined she is and Thato, all I can say is SWOON. Now I'm just sad that the Stone Hearts series is over, but that just means I have to start back at the beginning!
This one is ABSOLUTELY my favorite of the trilogy! Don't get me wrong, they're all amazing, but I loved Finley & Thato's story so much! It kept me intrigued from start to finish, and I can't wait to see what else C.C. Rock has planned in her repertoire of books to write!
Love love loved this book! Honestly with two young kids I rarely have time to read anymore but this book kept me hooked the whole time. I couldn’t wait to find time to read it each night. It can be violent at times so you have to be ok with that portion. I would highly recommend. Can’t wait to see what C.C. Rock writes next!
First off I have to say I am mad at C.C. Rock for keeping this book from us for so long. Not to mention its contents but damn was it one hell of a ride.
There were times I was so on edge I was practically vibrating and others I wanted to reach out and smack C.C. Every single piece of torture she put me through was worth it though. I don't know if I would say it's the best of the three, because I have absolutely loved this series, and without having them all fresh in my head it's hard to make that call. But I have a feeling it might just be.
Thato Carver popped up a lot in the other books particularly Bash and Lou's book, doing his very best to please Lou and stir Bash. Not to mention his apperance's in Ren and Vas's book also. With every book, we got a little bit more of him, and the fact he got to be a star of this book was perfection.
Finley is the younger Stone and has been protected by Ren a lot. From what we hear and see of her in the first two books it was a huge surprise finding out just what a badass she actually is. She is not at all apologetic for who she is and while you might think she is faking her bubbly personality she isn't, she's just a whole lot deeper than expected.
This book has a bad guy you just really want to punish and I kind of wish he'd got more than he did especially for everything he did. He was truly evil.
They Conquer was not only a great mafia romance but you had the added element of former enemies now fragile allies crossing lines. That's right if you haven't read the rest of the series Thato Carver rules half of Luxton while Ren Stone rules the other half. They may be on friendly terms but when Thato lays claim to Finley it could cause a war. Luckily bigger fish to fry saves that moment.
There are some scenes that really had me hanging by a thread and others that will get you super hot under the covers, and even some lighter amusing moments. It's all wrapped up around the very gorgeously wicked Thato Carver and the very strong, capable, fierce Finely Stone.
I loved this book and the entire series and I can't wait for C.C.'s next release. . . . Finley's past has broken her a little and while she keeps it buried deep inside her demons occasionally need to be let out. When she does, Finley is sure to make sure those who deserve it pay dearly for their crimes. What she never expects is to be caught and when the man holding her seems familiar she can't figure it out.
That is until she escapes him before coming face to face with him at the charity ball in her mother's name. Now she knows exactly why she knows the handsome man who held and punished her. Thato Carver the opposite ruler of Ren. Once enemies now allies.
When Thato offers his silence for a little of Finely's time she has no choice not wanting Ren to ever find out all of the details of her past that she hides from him. 'Thato gave her a knowing smirk. “Baby, you really are, and it’s okay.” He patted her hand, his calloused palm warm and rough. “I accept you for who you are, murderous bits and all.”
What Finely nor Ren realize is that what happened to her so long ago is about to come back and haunt them. A past she thought she only had to deal with in her nightmares is back and trying to take away her freedom.
Thato happens to be in the right place at the right time and one look at Finley has him stepping in to save the day whether she wants it or not. Now Finley is forced into living with Thato while hiding out as her brother tries to get rid of the problem.
They never expected him to be as ruthless and unyielding as he is and Finley can only see one way for her family and the city to survive but Thato has other plans. While they push back Finley's hunter goes out of his way to cause as much damage as possible. “Because I do not falter, I endure, and I conquer,” she said her family’s words. “And know that you will also drown in my wrath. You will bleed by my blade. And you will not be given my mercy.” Finley told him the Carver words. '
While they fight against him at every turn an insider plots to take Finely out of the equation. It may be a life Finley will never recover from but she won't let her life mean more than anyone else's.
Ren and Thato will try to save her and all she can do is hold on to the pieces of herself that he will never get from her and hope to be in one piece when they make it to her. 'Finley Stone, the once unfeeling, stagnant, empty vessel, had been unlocked—Thato Carver seeming to be the key.'
This is book 3 in the Stone Hearts series. Each book is a stand alone that follows a different couple with a sub plot that continues throughout the books series. I do recommend reading in order as you see multiple characters from the previous books. Also....These books are AMAZING and you do not want to miss one single moment with any of the characters!
This one follows Finley Stone and Thato Carver. We have had glimpses of these characters from the past 2 books and from what was given to us in those stories, I knew this one would be explosive. I was not wrong. Usually I give a recap of the book but I don't want to spoil anything because not knowing is the best. I promise you will love their story and will probably sob like I did.....but it is all worth it in the end. CC Rock gives us her best work to date! I loved this story with all my heart and soul. The writing is phenomenal that the characters come to life on the pages. This series was a complete surprise to me and I am so glad that I found it. This author is one that deserves high praise and I will scream from the roof tops to get her seen. Trust me when I say you will become invested and devour these books!
The only thing I will tell you is this is a very dark and violent read. CC Rock does do a fantastic job at outlining the triggers at the beginning of the book and gives a very detailed warning. Please heed them if you have issues with certain content as there is a lot in the book. What I will say is that if you can handle what is in the book, You Ar going to love it. Finley is such a strong character and is probably my favorite from the series. Check this book out and follow CC Rock. You will love her work. Well done! 5+ stars for this book and series!
I was given the really big honor and privilege of reading the beta copy for They Conquer. CC Rock, is an absolute 💎 like I don’t understand how more people don’t know about her. Her writing is amazing and sucks you in and makes you feel ALL the feelings! Her books are intense and daring. They show trauma in a light of understanding and healing, even if the healing may be the hard way.
I love how well she writes her world and characters. She does not hold back at all, you will love and hate here characters and constantly wonder what the eff is happening!
That being said this is the third book in her Stone Heart Series, we finally get to see Finely and Carver’s story which they both have had small to big roles in the other two books. I’ll tell you straight up Finley is a mother trucking baller! I won’t give anything away but she stands up for the little guys and Carver was smitten at first glance. Iykyk 😈
This book was more dark than the others in my opinion but it was all so well done. Just read the triggers and know what your limits are.
Besides that! Look forward to reading Finley and Carver’s Story very, very soon!
They Conquer releases 12/1/22 💖💖💖
Thank you again to CC for giving me this opportunity to read more of her story and world. Loved every damn minute in your books.
I was over the moon excited when the amazing CC Rock allowed me to beta read for this book. The first two blew my mind in a way I was not expecting.
The fast paced, action packed novel is full of ups and downs, a lot of possessive a-holes and some interesting kinks 😉
I knew Finley stone was a firecracker from the moment we met her and diving into her inner workings did not disappoint. The journey she went through in They Conquer was a revving experience to go through with her. She is a strong, powerful woman who needs no man.
And Thato’s antics made for const laughs and entertainment. I loved his character in the other books and I was thrilled when he got his own book.
The two together were something else. The sexual tension and banter between the two was so addictive.
So I jumped around a bit and read this book instead of Lou and Bash's. I won't say it is a standalone exactly, but I don't feel like I was missing too much by skipping the middle book.
Now on to Finley and Thato.
First and foremost, I loved both of their characters. They were absolutely perfect for each other, and you could feel their chemistry from the get-go. Their relationship was wild and dark, and I loved every freaking minute of it.
The plot was great. I was completely invested. Please do check trigger warnings because it has some very dark moments.
The ending felt a little abrupt. I guess I wanted more before the epilogue.
So far, I am loving this author and can not wait for more.
