Jordon is a Dungeon Master, and he liked to think he was a decent one after a whole year of writing and running his own home-brewed campaign. He just didn’t think he was so good at it that he could actually write a Fallen God into existence that was hellbent on destroying the multiverse. So, when a character from that very campaign shows up on his doorstep, begging for his help in saving her world, it was only responsible for Jordon to step up and save it, right?

With his Outcasts behind him, Jordon descends through the Cadinari Stream and into a world of his own creation, finding that the life of an Adventurer is much more than improv and dice rolls. And Taldora, that world he had only seen in his dreams, was full of more wonders and mystery than even he had imagined.

Okay so I want to admit that I do have a slight bias after the fact on this book. Mostly because I love the genre of this book, and I’m the narrator behind the audiobook. All the same though I’ve read this story three more times since I finished working on the audio and I love it so much. The characters feel real and are very relatable. The progression of events never felt boring for me or slow in any way. I really enjoyed the whole other world aspect so much, but truthfully those are always my favorite stories.

If you like fantasy, and other world stories like Alice In Wonderland, Jumanji, Ascend Online, SAO, Shield hero etc.. then this is a must read. And yes shameless plug coming if reading isn’t as easy on your time there’s an audio version as well. I hear the narrator is awesome.

The book was well written. I've only played a D&D style game once about 25 years ago. Zane Emerson seems to do a good job with the story and I'd guess he makes a good dungeon master. The world building and character development was well done. The narration by Mitchell Cochran was great. I could always tell which character was being portrayed.

Disclaimer: My enjoyment of the narrator is based on my listening speed. I only leave 5 stars for books I've listened to or will listen to multiple times. I'll update my review if I listen again.

I requested this book from the author, narrator, or publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

As someone who likes to find indie books, this one left me happy that I still have my Kindle Unlimited plan.

Cascade was an interesting and quick read that left me curious as to what comes next. Though it leans a bit to heavily on some cliches and tropes (I think intended?) and there are some obvious grammatical issues, the story was gripping enough that I found myself unable to stop reading it.

I’ll definitely be checking out the sequel.

A fantastic Dungeons and Dragons Adventure (audiobook version)

A fantastic Dungeons and Dragons Adventure

I have had some exposure to the Dungeons and Dragons game over the years and have some interest in it but have not really played it much myself. I have yet to read a Litrpg and as I understand it this doesn’t quite fit that description. It is more akin to Chronicles of Narnia where here people from a world such as ours finds themselves transported to a dungeons and dragons style world one of them had created.

Jordon and friends get involved in an epic campaign, one they had already played through but this time they were living it; the joys of more mundane acts such as camping included. A lot of questions are raised, some are answered and the book has kept me engaged and intrigued throughout. The nature of the world the Outcasts find themselves is interesting, as is the roles the former pretend adventurers now find themselves in.

This is book one of The Cadinari Stream and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what happens in book two.

Mitchell Cochran’s narration was good and fit the story well. There was one character I found difficult to listen to but that was clearly intentional and fortunately is not in it much.

I was given a free copy at my request and have voluntarily left this review which has not been influenced by the party that provided it.

I have since bought the hardback version.

Good Fantasy D&D Based Story. Solid Narration.

I openly admit to have never played, or even witnessed, a Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) game...which I think is the structuring game for this book. Nor, is fantasy my top favored book genre. But, I still enjoyed (and could understand) this work that follows a group of Florida high school gamers and the challenge of having a fantasy character come to their real life, asking for help. Its a D&D video game in narrative book form.

Narrator (Mitchell Cochran): Good. But, I recommend the narrator work on varying length and placement pauses triggered by commas and periods to provide a more flowing oral narrative. Female characterizations could also have a slightly higher pitch to make them more distinctly feminine.

If you enjoy the works of Brandon Sanderson and Ernest Cline's Ready Player One then I would recommend this book. I felt very submerged into the world and became attached to the characters. I can't wait till the next book comes out to find out what happens.

If you love Dungeons and Dragons, then you need to put your dice down and immediately buy this book. Get ready for a wild and fantastical adventure that jumps off the page and dares you to put it down. I bet you won't be able to!

I love the idea of a D&D game come to life. The group of characters were amazing and I can’t wait to start the second!

Loved this book simply because the main character shares my name! (not really... but maybe a little...)

The world building is great and you can tell the author has a great vision which he described quite well. It is immersive, exciting, emotional and keeps you on the edge always wanting to know what happens next.

If you're at all into D&D, fantasy, or sci-fi, I think you will enjoy this book. It combines all three into something you can't really find anywhere else!
