The official tie-in book for the beloved, nine-time Emmy® Award-winning series Schitt's Creek.
This beautifully produced, keepsake coffee-table book is the ultimate celebration of the series, the town, the characters, and the state of mind that is Schitt's Creek. Capturing the essence and alchemy of all six seasons of what is now considered to be one of the most groundbreaking comedy television series of the last decade, Best Wishes, Warmest Regards is a gift to fans everywhere who have made the show their own.
Included are character profiles from the cast of Johnny, Moira, David, and Alexis, and all of the characters that populate the town, major moments from Moira's endorsement of Herb Ertlinger Winery, to Patrick and David's first kiss, to Cabaret and the Rose Family Christmas episode. Also included are special features, such as the complete, illustrated catalogs of David's knits and Moira's wigs, Moira's vocabulary, Alexis's adventures, and behind-the-scenes moments from Dan and Eugene Levy and the cast of Schitt's Creek.
All I can really say about this is: I am a Schitt's Creek superfan and there was new info in this book that I'd not heard before! That's really the biggest compliment I can give this book. Also, it's extremely pretty and well-designed, and has some really fun tidbits in it (every sweater David ever wore, a dictionary of Moira-isms, a map of Alexis' youth exploits etc etc)
I just really loved this and it made me so nostalgic for the show, and now I really feel like I have to rewatch the whole thing.
If you love the TV series Schitt's Creek like I do, then you will love this book! It is a wonderful coffee table book chockfull of pictures, info. on the characters and how their relationships developed, the story behind each episode, the outfits, and more. I was excited to bring it home from the Library and show it to Simon, who started reading it immediately.
When it was my turn, he told me to turn to page 273, which is a copy of a letter from "Serendipitydodah for Moms - Home of the Mama Bears" a group for moms of LGBTQ kids who love their kids and work for a kinder safer world for them and kids like them.
Their letter reveals their heartfelt appreciation of the commitment of Dan Levy, the cast, and the writers of the Schitt's Creek to represent LGBTQ relationships in a positive light, which moved me to tears. In fact, they write "that shows like Schitt's Creek will serve as a catalyst to help change the world into a kinder, safer, more loving place for all LGBTQ people to live and because of that we will remain forever grateful."
By the time the same friend who's now gifted me this massive and beautiful tie-in book got me into Schitt's Creek four and a half years ago, half the series had already aired, and the show wasn't exactly an underground secret anymore. Still, while it had garnered a passionate cult-following who made it more and more popular by word of mouth, it was a long way from becoming the most Emmy-awarded comedy series in a single night—I was already along for the ride when that sudden explosion in popularity happened, and this coffee-table book felt like a walk down memory lane, and a celebration of what this wholesome and hilarious Canadian show would achieve. The little comedy series that could.
Filled with background info, fan art, behind-the-scenes-photos, and thoughts and memories not only from the Levy men whose names are on the cover, but from the rest of the cast and some of the crew as well, this is a beautiful companion book for any fan of the series. Some of my favorite spreads were the collection of all of David's sweaters, Moira's wigs and vocabulary, and Alexis' jetsetting adventures, and a lot of the fanart was truly delightful.
I was sad when Schitt's Creek ended, but it can't be denied that they knew exactly when and how it needed to end. This book was a joy to flick through, and parts of it made me just as emotional as some of the more heartwarming episodes and the series finale did—this book felt like an illustrated tribute and gift to the fans, and you'll be in the mood for a full rewatch as soon as you close the back cover. Loved this journey for me. Simply the best.
Perfect companion piece to a wonderful show. It ended too soon. Although it also ended at just the right time and having this book of memories, behind the scenes photos, cast stories and fan art is definitely something the ultimate Schitt fan should have.
This book is PERFECT! It is huge! It made me emotional just flicking through it.
It has a few pages about every single episode. Sections about every character. Pages of costumes that David and Moira wore. The Crows Have Eyes III posters. So many behind the scenes photos and recollections from all the cast. Looks at all the most iconic scenes. Dance instructions for A Little Bit Alexis!
Any fan of Schitt’s Creek is going to absolutely love this book.
A stunning tribute to the show that moved so many of us. Lots of behind the scenes tidbits, beautiful photos and layout. I would normally read this and pass it along to a friend but this time, I plan on buying it for friends as gifts. Highly highly recommend.
Well this was a wonderful reading experience. I'd been hoping they would do a book like this so was very pleased when it popped up when I was browsing online for books. I've seen the show twice and it's one of my favourites. Actually, I've seen the first season three times - - I first watched it years ago, when it was this small show that played sometime late, I think after reruns of shows I liked but didn't necessarily want to see again. I really liked that first season, but lost track of it after that. Part of the reason was that I reached a point where staying up past midnight to watch a show wasn't something I had the reserves of energy for anymore. When it arrived on Netflix last year (or at least, I noticed it last year) the show had exploded into this phenomenon, and I was excited to remind myself of the early days and then catch up with the rest. It was lovely to revisit all my favourite moments, to see the excellent outfits and quotes and learn about the making of the show. I think I'll have to watch it all again sometime soon(ish).❤️
Since I am a huge fan of the show, it won’t be a surprise to hear me say that I absolutely loved this book ❤️ I asked for it for Christmas (thanks Mom and Dad!) and finished it in a day, which I think says it all haha. It was so wonderful reading about how much thought and care went into the creation of Schitt’s Creek, and hearing the perspectives from the cast and crew really added depth to the show as a whole. It really was the perfect love letter to the fans of the show, and I loved how they included so much fan art along with photos from the show. I will definitely be coming back to this book when I need a pick me up! Guess it’s time for a rewatch too 😊
What a rare treat to see how a talented family and additional artists can make such a worthy series! The fan art was an unexpected treat. Also, I am proud to be one of the signatories for the Mama Bear's heartfelt letter of thanks to the series.
A must read for any fan of Schitt's Creek. I love behind the scenes stories from shows and movies. Schitt's Creek is one of my most favorite shows and could watch it again and again and again and not get tired of it. This book is an awesome addition to the show, offering a glimpse inside what it was that made Schitt's Creek the phenomenon that it is. Love this book!!
What a gift to the fans. I devoured this book in a weekend. I relished every page. The pictures and behind the scenes stories were wonderful. I especially enjoyed the insight into character and story development. A must read for any fan of Schitt's Creek!
This would make a lovely gift for a Schitt's Creek superfan. Not to be annoying, but I was a fan of the show from the very beginning (although I am not a superfan). It is quirky, but with very important messages. I enjoyed it more as it went on, and particularly loved the growth, as well as the positivity and inclusive nature. This book captures a lot of that magic and gives some great insights and peaks behind the scenes. I was happy to see my favourite scene of the entire series discussed. The Levy's (especially Dan) put a lot into the series, and this book was made for its fans with a lot of thought and care.
I was pleasantly surprised that my library had a copy. I think it's time for a series rewatch.
