KURU: The Laughing Death

Rate this book
Two years after the Coronavirus outbreak, the world is returning to normal when a terrible aircraft accident at Heathrow claims the lives of over 500 people. The Conservative government is preparing to cover up the causes of the accident when the post-mortem on the plane's captain reveals a shocking discovery. He was suffering from a fatal brain disorder similar to that which caused the outbreak of "Mad Cow Disease" 40 years before. Is the disease back, or is it something worse? Slowly more cases emerge until the story cannot be contained and panic grips the country. A young pathology intern and a scientist from London's University College find themselves at the heart of the investigation. Fearful of government cover ups they pursue their own investigation into the disease as a heart-warming romance develops between them. The truth they discover turns out to be more shocking than anyone could have imagined. A disease that was thought to have died out has returned, but how has it been spread and who is doing it? There is no cure and the world may be changed forever.
