I blame Instagram for leading me here (there was an ad about someone running up a tree and NO ONE GODDAMN RAN UP A TREE HERE I- sorry i digress) and I legit watched thousands of ads to finish this (I swear this was against my will I was just too intrigued to not finish, my sister calls this the alpha book and I don't think I'll be able to look at myself the same away again. i have no self respect anymore).
unfortunately, this was pretty good 😭
I'm also writing this bc i have to wait 20 minutes before I can finish the bonus chapters 😭
I got sucked in from one of the Instagram ads. I read it on NovelFlow by watching a million ads (1 ad for 2 chapters). There were spelling and grammatical errors. Worse, the story ‘ended’ but had a dozen loose ends. So then came the dozen or so ‘Bonus Chapters.’ Just end the book at the end of the story, and not prematurely! I got sucked into the characters story, though the POV wasn’t great. I loved Ace and the other side characters.
All the parents and exes sucked and I wished them all great bodily harm.
Title: Lita’s Love for the Alpha Author: Unlikely Optimist
Review: I seen a preview on instagram for this book and read the first few chapters and was totally hooked. The storyline was good and the characters were interesting. The only thing I didn’t like was the third person POV, I would have preferred the main characters POV’s directly which would have made this book more appealing. Lita was in a tragic accident with her brother and she had some serious survivors guilt which lead her to leave her hometown and crappy overbearing parents to where James (brother) lived in CA. She tracks down the gym her brother trained to fight in to be closer to him but ends up opening a whole can of worms. Let’s not forget she has a psycho ex boyfriend who followed her to deal with too. Her eyes are opened to a new world with wolves and unlocks some serious family history baggage including finding her mate. All in all this was a great read.
**I read this book via NovelFlow app (watched adds to unlock chapters)**
I really enjoyed this book at first despite all the terrible spelling errors. I loved Cole he was the most perfect mate anyone could ask for. The other pack members were great too. Things that irritated me though was Lita's inconsistent character traits and her bratty attitude. Sometimes I could definitely tell she was 18/19 because she sure acted like it. She was often ungrateful, lacking gratitude for the amazing things Cole would do for her and getting pissy for the most immature reasons. Then One day she's like, "I'm going to be the best Luna this pack deserves!" the next she's all insecure and like, "I don't know if Cole loves me" Was she delusional because that man would do anything to make her happy, including giving her space to heal whatever issues she had. I couldn't read the bonus chapters; they just annoyed me and I quit there. #teamcole
Yall, I’m giving this a little slack because this is an author who seemingly does not have an editor and writes a chapter a day on average and I am HELLA impressed. At least the one I read (NovelFlow thanks to insta reel) didn’t have too many typos, which I know was a complaint in other reviews. I’d give 4.25 if possible, but for an author I will always round up. Plus, she did this alone???? This was freaking good.
For a shifter romance I really enjoyed the complexity of the story. Lots of dynamics, lots of history, lots of growing, changing, healing. A story of love and inclusion. A story of heartbreak and pain that makes the beautiful relationship and healing that much sweeter.
Had to put it down more than once as it wasn’t enough to fully keep my focus. Overall felt anticlimactic. The spice isn’t even good enough to write home about, probably around a 1 or 2 on a spice scale.
Lita joins a gym to get stronger, a gym her brother belonged to but she won’t tell people that it hurts to much, her ex boyfriend is abusing her but he doesn’t believe they have broken up. She meets new friends, but one guy, the owner Cole or Alpha as everyone at the gym calls him, seems like an ass but her body seems drawn to him. Her world is turned upside down in a night when she discovers wolfs, pack politics and a mate.. but she’s human?!
