Just like the robotic claws of the creatures, this series reaches out and just hooks onto you. I read this book thinking that what is abstract has almost become real and what was real is turning into something I don’t recognize. I hated one of the characters (Westwood) and then I loved him. I loved one of the characters (Alice) and mourned the direction the story took with her but then I cheered when I thought I was wrong and now I don’t know what I think. I have to finish reading it in one sitting because I can’t stand not to know what is going on. It doesn’t matter though; I turn the last page and scream because I have to wait to find out what is going on. This author was born to write entertaining sci-fi, and I love it.
We're all DOOMED, I tell you, DOOMED! The end is nigh. The four horsemen of the apocalypse have ridden into town with the cavalry. I must say, it's been a blast—consistently terrifying throughout. Are there any more books? I hope so. Very entertaining! I don't know how many times I've had to change my underwear. These creatures make the "Alien" look like a kitten playing with a ball of wool.
Amazing installment to the series. Quite a surprise when the book came out since it had been a while. Earth is in quite a predicament & I cannot wait for book 10 to see what happens next.
